The "donut" base

In my past times raiding I have found around 15? bases that had a spawn hole smack dab in the center of base. To include into this what i used to think horrible idea, was a dark elixir or gold storage! Just sitting there with a spawn hole. Thinking to myself after the battle I would be rich, I'd attack in the middle of the base just like the defense wanted. And every time I literally looked at all 200 troops disappear in 10 seconds from the splash defenses and the hidden teslas hiding in the hole. After seeing the success of these base designs I made my own variation. That worked perfect. I hardly ever lost any gold that was wide open for attack. So my question is why do I never see more people with these bases? Does it not work for other people or do they simply not know about it? Well, I heard somewhere that for a spawn trap base to work, a whole bunch of defenses need to be covering the center. Then, if people attack from the edges, it's not as protected.

The spawn trap,or "black hole" is an interesting idea, I've seen some entertaining replays involving them. I've also seen peoples bases get devastated by them. I assume in lower cup ranges, this would work because people would have cheap ground troops, which will die instantly to multiple splash towers.

I have also seen (and done) a rage spell dropped in the spawn hole followed by many dragons, or any other high hp troops. If you're willing to take the risk, go for it, you may get some cups and exciting replays! Or you may get your base torn apart from the inside out!

even I wondered, thought about it, and made my own style on my own! but it is risky. usually with the middle being the most protected, now you can spawn in it. 1 barb to reveal hidden teslas and deactivate traps, 2 lightning on the teslas, and u have a huge advantage! so that's why, not every1 does it, but yes it could be a good idea. (p.s. if u see this with lower lvl players, like trees as walls in like a million tile gap, that's just stupidity and noob brains, not skill nor strategy)

My friend had his base like this for a while. Every night he would wake up with more and more trophies! It was a win win every night.

I never got to see a replay, but I have seen a video on YT. It works like a charm.

When I get to TH9 in a million years, I'll def try it.

I don't see it working that well with TH8 or anything below.... I imagine x-bows also play a great part in this.

I see and attack them a lot. I lose everytime with my mini but win everytime with my man. I drop archers to set off traps if they have them. Then i droop pekkas with rage and healing. Then comes my golems and wizards etc.

bad for hunting good for farming.

Ya it is meant to be a farming base, ill try and get pics for you guys. Anyway i did this black hole base with a town hall 8 and i found i wasn't really getting attacked from the outside too much, with it i was never hundred percented, most likely because i was in the silver league. Having a town hall nine would help if you were farming higher though. From the extra walls and xbow.

So i made this on the village edit mode, its defiantly not finished! but its just to help people get the idea of what it is. You can see the whole in the center. Filled with the teslas. In the time I used it I didn't get lightninged. You would just fill in the rest of the outside of the base with everything else :) hope it helps.

I have seen this so much and the only way to get away from it is rage or healing spells and WB's and a golem or a pekka or hogs. When i tried it i never lost much elixir or gold though so i don't know maybe its a good layout/idea?

I think that the higher the th more likely you will lose stuff. I tried this at th 7 and i was only really attacked by gobs, archers, and giants with healers. At th 9 and 10 there's such a loot bonus for lower guys they will go all out.... My idea ;)
