War MM & Cannon Cart changes - the FEEDBACK thread!

I dont think the matchup solution is that difficult.

just need to analyze a few things. I would go min war weight for each TH but if that aint doable just add a very large weight for LABs that have offense much greater than defense and that weight gets bigger based on the size of the spread i.e. Defenseless TH 11s with some of th usual max troops and spells.

I would try and match the eagles f possible

lastest war... I would group the war by 5 and look at each group.

Them / Us - war weight 1-5, 6-10, 11-15

THs them - 1 max 11 with eagle

SC needs to communicate to players what they need to do with their bases to get fair match ups. If not these complaints will never end. People think they can build their base anyway they want and expect fair match ups when this is not true. Some direction from SC would go a long way in helping people build bases that will find fair matches and increase the pool of similar clans making it easier to match.

To keep the feedback coming, we’ve won the match with all those th9’s vs our th8’s. Be it we didn’t have a single attack left and a great investment in making it happens as a team :)

Our current match is a much more even one, everyone has a legit chance to hit an equal target. They have 1 extra th9, obvious player that just made the move up. And we have an extra th10. Across the line almost all bases are of equal strength.

Our latest 15 v 15 war, matched a few minutes ago. We have no engineered bases, in the war we have - 2 th11; 8 th10; 5 th9.

Our opponents have - 7 th11; 6 th10; 2 th9

So much for fairer matches.

Sorry to hear. Whats the hero breakdown of the Th 11s? Aq/Bk/gw?

You cant see the defense weight yet but whats the eagle and infernos?

I feel your pain. Our first war since this latest abomination of a MM went into effect garnered us this match up:

Us

4 TH11. 2 max Wardens, and max war troops. 2 new TH11 level 3 and level 4 wardens no TH11 troops upgraded. Total combined levels of Wardens: 47

Them

9 TH11. 2 max Wardens. 1 level 16 Warden. 2 level 14 Wardens. 3 level 10 Wardens. 1 level 7 Warden. Total combined levels of Wardens: 121

All of their 11s have at least 1 ground and 1 Air based attack that features max war troops.

We have 1 more Inferno Tower than they do.

It seems to be getting worse not better.

My experience with the changed matching is somewhat different. While matching times used to take 20-30 minutes, that morphed into several hours at the start of changed matching and now has apparently turned into no matches at all which for wars of 15-25 imho is ridiculous. It would be good if SC would at least provide some insight into what makes matching possible and/or faster.

Across the map our heroes are of higher level then theirs.

their extra th10 at position 14 has lvl5 drags only, no heroes.

Matching is not fixed yet guys/gals - searches are longer than they have been in over 2 years. Matching is NOT working as you had hoped. in all 3 clans we have gotten 1 good matching for each and rest bad since latest mm update hit

when a clan has DOUBLE the eagles as your team you go in almost impossible to win unless they are rubbish.

My clan has just found a match, 15 v 15. We don’t have any engineered bases. Our war team is 2 th11s, 6 th10s, 6 th9s and a th8.

Our opponents have 8 th11s, 4 th10s and 3 th9s. EIGHT TOWN HALL 11s.

Matchmaker was way better before these changes.

It's actually impossible since the last month to even run a lineup with all our defenseless bases else the search time will take DAYS. We did a test where we made a new clan and ran a 10 vs 10 with only defenseless and search failed after 24 hours multiple times.

We are a new clan mainly with th9 and th8 players, we were expecting this war mach balance for a long time since we experience many times bases with very low defences but really strong offence.
This time we are faceing the following:
-A new clan like ours with perk lvl 2 to match with clan perk lvl9, i believe this is something you must include in your algorithm,the difference should not be higher than some lvls.
-Although all opponents are th9 after matchmaking we have been against bawlers. These reinforcments are from th10+ that are not in the war player list, a good idea would be these reinforcments to be excluded from war events and players to use them only in other events, or during war these th10 players not to be able to send such strong reinforcements to lower th players.

We played two wars after the new mm update,both were good competitive tough wars,we won the 1st war and also winning the 2nd with 4 hours left,both by a close margin.So we are enjoying wars so much like never before.Our clan is a new lvl 8 clan.This would be our 133rd win and winning streak will move to 5 after this war.Our best winning streak ever is 11.And we are a maxer clan.

We have a 10v10 war, th’s mirrored exactly. 1 th11; 4 th10 and 5 th9 each. Happy to have a fair fight for a change.

We haven't stopped warring but some time ago we went to 10vs10 because the more slots available is more space for roster manipulation aka more engineered bases.

We've seen about the same, no change really. We've been getting more engineered in the last few wars but our recent war performance is pretty good so I guess that's a big part of it. All of our bases, TH9s and 8 have all defense added.

I'm a new BH6 and I have been using cannon cart more after the August 21st update. I don't think I used it at all before that. I have level 10 it's quite effective now if it can stay protected behind tanks. But, I don't much care about BH.

We are a modestly engineered clan and have been matched with highly engineered bases (which is fine--bring a challenge!) or clans that simply outclass ours. Its been mostly the latter.
We've gone from winning most (not all) wars to losing 6 in a row. The last match was the worst of all.
This is my first post because I see this being the first large problem for CoC I've encountered.
Making these changes to appease whiners will ultimately chase away loyal players, and is ultimately a losing proposition.

I agree w/ Roger. I'm new to the forum as well due to the war MM. We're a lvl 11 clan with a few moderately engineered bases and the matchmaking has been terrible. we've lost the last 3 rows (soon to be 4) while still getting 97, 98, 95% total destruction in each. 216 total clan wins with 125 losses. Until something is fixed, wars are no fun.

Whats the break down of your last war?

List the TH, Defense total, Hero/Warden Lvs of each please. If the Infernos are odd its good to know.

Seems this thread is for general feedback (not specifics). I just wonder if SC is really looking for feedback on the war MM or just sounding interested to appease the disgruntled players.

SC claims they want to allow freedom of play but the majority of clans are engineered and cannot run full lineups. They have "fixed" clan wars in order to appease the rushers, the minority, the low class casual players who build without regard. This is socialism, and doomed to fail because they are alienating their base of serious clashers.

You’re free to play the game however you like comrade. You aren’t however free to manipulate the game to get easy war wins, why would you want to anyway, where’s the challenge?

That is not socialism, not even close. To equate the CoC MM to a political belief that has literally starved millions of people to death seems a bit extreme.

Well we're trying to adjust our war line to balance it out. So far no luck but we'll keep trying. Also working with some of the TH 9's on better hog attacks. Thx for the tips.

Were usually in your boat as well. Current war were outmatched 3-1 with eagles in a 10vs war

Took a few wars, but I finally have figured out the jest of the MM update. They are placing more weight on Troop and Spell upgrades than they are on the defensive building upgrades. Thus punishing those that decided to engineer their bases... However, in the process they have also made the .5 bases obsolete... I think they need to revisit the balance and make some adjustments though. It definitely is far from working properly.

The biggest issue is the lopsided top base(s). Just started war... their 1 is a maxxed 10, except walls (around half lava, the rest 1 level down). Heroes maxxed for th10. Our top base is not even a maxxed 9, with both heroes below level 15, not maxxed troops. They have a th5 at the bottom. We have a th7. We have no engineered bases, they have a few. Used to be a 3 th spread kept wars even... The best we can hope for is a 2 star on 1. We know our 1 and 2 should be wiped. Our only hope is that their 9s aren't any good, at all. A competitive advantage at the top seriously outweighs one at the bottom.

Yep lopsided top bases are the number 1,2 and 3 problem. Focus on those for starters.

SC brought up lopsided accounts years ago, calling them the true problem yet they haven't taken much action against them. So we've still got all these guys running around with heavy 10.5s generally getting an advantage, though sometimes they show up to complain about an eagle imbalance.

Agree.

I don't think engineered clans are getting as much as an advantage as they used to. A friend's clan uses a max TH11, 2 TH10.5s, and a TH9.11 followed by a 9.5 and 9s in 10v10 wars and they routinely got 20+ win streaks before the update. They still generally get an advantage, but no longer have double digit win streaks. They face terrible matchups every 5th war or so.

That datapoint, coupled with my experience (mostly balanced / maxer approach facing 4 unwinnable wars since the update), leads me to believe the MM is really all over the place and no one has figured it out.

That's what I'm seeing too. Still an advantage, but gets you other engineers, inferno/eagle disadvantage more often.

The main point is being missed here: the loyal fans are being overlooked for the more casual and more whiney ones. The engineered base endures the constant loss of being raided to bring more clout to his/her clan for wars. This person has done this for months/years playing by the rules of the game and adjusting to the game as it grows.

Now there is a sudden and drastic change, undermining the work done over years to appease whiners who are sloppy and/or don't want to take the same losses at raiding to aid their clan in wars. SC is changing the game, and the argument can be made that every player needs to adjust to change. Except we don't have to. This isn't my job, and my family doesn't depend on my gameplay. Nonsense. Engineers = "loyal fans" is delusional. There are very many players very committed to the game who wouldn't engineer - precisely because it wipes out any challenge.

And lack of defence in multiplayer is little if any disadvantage. Farming these days is ridiculously easy. All bases except the very strongest get hit almost regardless of defence levels. It's actually sometimes an advantage to be low defence: it ensures a shield rather than repeated <30% defences, and often entices a weak/incompetent attacker who might take less loot than a strong player would have taken from a fully defended base.

I have 5 accounts. Name them or quit pretending you know anything about how I play. I'll give you one hint, I'm spread out over three clans.

I am a 10.5 and have been matched alternately with a fully maxed out TH 11 every war since the update... so that is not true at all. In fact i never had a problem with people doing the .5 approach. It was a solid way to go about the game. The heavily engineered bases were a bit much, but i will be honest, we had a better chance at war with engineered clans than we ever do now.

We are a zero engineered clan with a war win percentage of about 80%, and since the update we are below 50% win percentage. Not any fault of our own either. We legitimately use all attacks and try to win, but the odds are so stacked against us that is has not been possible. The few wars we have won since the war were draws that we squeaked by on percentage. I have devoted about 5 years into playing this game the way it was intended to be played, and i am the very person being punished because of the people that decided rig the game into their favor.

So thanks for the years SC. I was fun, and it was real, but it is no longer real fun...

I don't have a problem with .5, I engineer more heavily than that. If the matchmaker gives .5 or defenseless or whatever an advantage, take it. If the matchmaker changes, adapt. Main issue is the matchmaker.

My comment was about people that demand a permanent advantage, that run heavy 10.5s and flip out on the forum if they match an eagle. That run th3s at the bottom and then strangely complain about being outmatched on the bottom.

They have gone way too heavy on war weight for offensive troops and spells... that is the problem. I was a player that always kept my lab busy or i felt like I wasn’t being productive. As a result i have almost all maxed out troops and spells. Do i use them all? No, but i do have them available. And when it comes to TH11 attacking in war, all you need are maxed healers, witches, and bowlers, freeze spell, rage spell, and maybe jump spell. So now that is what people should do neglect the useless troop upgrades and just do those neccesary troops to give the best chance at a 3 star, and viola insta-engineered bases to counter balance the new algorithm.

I wouldn't be opposed to going back to a maxed TH 9. That is where the game is actually balanced properly, and seems to be competitive and fun.

Mostly agree, that's why I've got an account parked at th9. Though its gotten a bit too easy with cc bowlers, not sure its balanced really.
As for too much weight on offense, well they tried too little back a long time ago and it was a disaster. This is an improvement.

That's probably my biggest gripe with the current MM. I've maxed TH10 other than the wall grind & don't think I should be facing TH11s that have real TH11 offense. It's not every war & it's a lot more likely to happen if we run any sort of .5 on our side. The clans running TH10.5s at #1 seem to be pulling full TH11s often enough that they aren't racking up the wins the way they used to, though.

I'm working on getting the guys with .5s to put in a little more time in on upgrading those accounts. I'd rather face clans that have a bit of advantage on offense in the TH9s, than have the imbalance at the top of the map.

I'll just ignore the part about "whiney", but the notion that engineers face heavier losses from being raided hasn't been my experience with my 63 defense WW TH11. Sit in a lower league, keep a strong defensive cc & watch guys faceplant with spam attacks. Occasionally getting wiped out by someone running a really heavy army is the price of admission to the engineering club.

That's the account I rushed because I figured SC would finally do something about those bases the moment I had one available... :facepalm:

I don’t agree with that... They didn’t try too little, ever. The general populace just caught on to what was being used to make the war matchups (i.e. Allclash has a whole spreadsheet that you could use to calculate your war weight), and thus began the “engineers”. Don’t get me wrong I do not in the least bit blame the “engineers” for abusing the system, but it is not the way I personally wanted to approach the gameplay. I also certainly do not have time to run multiple accounts, so I am not going to attempt to run different accounts in multiple game play styles to see which one gives me the best advantage. Furthermore, people are crafty, and the new match making algorithm will be figured out, and someone will once again find a way to fool the system. So is this going to be an ever changing algorithm to fight the people that find ways to cheat the system? The gameplay changes too much as is... they make troops too powerful and then they have to adjust to weaken that troop. They make a defensive building too OP, and then have to nerf it to make the game play better... the only people that benefit from any of that are the people that buy gems and instafinish the new upgrades so that they can benefit from the troop or defense in the temporary time that SC uses those people to beta test the new addition and adjust it accordingly.

I just want a consistent system, so i know what to expect. This is supposed to be a game not a Operating System that requires multiple updates...

I would think that there is a higher percentage of "loyal clashers" who engineer at least somewhat compared to players who don't take any of their actions' repercussions on their clan wars into consideration.

The idea that you, or anyone, builds defenses to ensure a "fair" war is laughable.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if we agree or not. It should matter to SC that their revenue will fall.

We have the same problems as before. Getting also engi-base clans. It's terrible.
Actually we have a 30 player war... our breakdown 2/9/13 (6 under th9)... against 7/24/8 (1 under th9).
Opponent no. 25 had success two star fights against our no. 2 + 5 .

Clanwar isn't fair and funny... and we get much more of such clans in the war.

Please fix this! We lost a lot of member because of terrible matchmaking. They have no more fun with coc.

(please give the most priority in matchmaking The TOWNHALL... maybe than we have fair clanwars and no player can fight unfair.)

My clan have just matched a 10 v 10 war. We have 1 th11, 8 th10 and a th9. The opposition have 3 th11s, 6 th10s and a th9.

Unfortunately all three of the opposition th11s have max troops and infernos, although only 1 has an eagle. Not a kind match up.

Since 2nd MM update we've had the 3 worst mismatches of our clans history, which happens to be 1 year yesterday. I usually run a near max 11 both in heros and defenses and a 9.11 with max heros at 1&2. First matchup, we faced 3 max 11s. I was able to triple one of them and we lost by 1. 2nd matchup we faced 2 max 11s and a 9.11 and we lost by 2. Our third matchup which is still in progress we again are again facing 2 max 11s and a 10.5. They will probably get 89/90 which means I will basically need to triple 2 max 11s to win. I haven't been upset with changes until now. I've seen most wars as winneable if we had good strat and did well but for them to easily clear up to our top base and only need to get 2 stars to win while us needing to clear 2 max 11s to win seems a big stretch. Previously I felt the MM was extremely accurate as we had our first draw and we won a war by .04% destruction. These 3 wars feel like a mistmatch. And I would be remiss not to mention a war in between where we were matched with an almost max 10 as their #1. We easily crushed them. We have not had an evenly matched war since secondary match making patch came out. Our searches were all under an hour too.

Since Supercell decided to address the problem of war matchmaking and Engineered clans things have got worse and not better.
I know there are more Engineered clans than ever now now but we constantly meet them in wars. This war we have 20 TH11 attacks, the enemy have 42!
what a shame Supercell couldn't put more effort into fixing the game instead of balancing cannon carts.

Same has happened to our clan. We are not an Engineered clan and we used to win 90% of wars before Supercell messed with the war matchmaking. We constantly meet Engineered clans now and our war log has turned from green to red. Very disheartening for the clan. And all Supercell say is "be patient".

we had a war matchup right after the latest update. & were extremely outmatched, our war weight was actually higher than theirs, BUT they had FOUR TH11's with a lot of maxed troops, we had only ONE TH11 with only 3 maxed troops. so there was NO way we could begin to compete, they had no problem clearing every single base of ours, so even though we tried our absolute best (all the while knowing we would lose) we lost of course! how in the world can ONE TH11 get matched up with 4 TH11's when they have so many maxed troops??????!!!!!! it's beyond ridiculous. below is the table, not that it will help much because it doesnt account for the maxed troops that the enemy team had.

The clan war matchmaking system is far worse than before. We seem to always get 5 th 11's versus our 4 th 11's. What makes it even worse is we have 2 th 8's matched against a th 9 and a th 10. While the th 10 is engineered, they have a level 25 AQ, and 26 BK, along with 2 level 3 xbows, and 1 level 2 xbow...Please tell me what th 8 you know of can expect to do well against that?

The MMA algorithm seems to be glitchy the last few wars.

It cannot seem to count numbers correctly. It appears that thinks 6 = 12 in wardens department, multiple max th11 offense cancel each other out (only for the opposing clan who is on a win streak of 0) so they can have 24 max hits vs 12 for the good guys. And since their offense cancels out, they get to make up our offensive weight in their defense weight.

At least that is how it looks to me when all our 9's are maxed against infernoless 10's with upgraded points and AD's (and of course max offense for th10).

you guys were going good, I was happy with the forward steps. It was improving I could see it! My match data (in the clan wars sub forum was showing it!) Now it seems you guys are going backwards again and we are in another downward spiral.......

Before the change, we got about a 50/50 ratio of matches in our favor. My only complaint was that there weren’t more close matches. Since the change we haven’t had a match in our favor. There must be clans out there that have gained an advantage. They’re just not posting because they’re happy. We just got matched in a 20v20 war against a clan that has 3 TH11s with max offense & defense, and then are defenseless from 11-20. It’s already over. (their record shows they’re competent attackers) I don’t know when the next adjustment is due, but we were a clan of 45-50 who are already down to 30-35 and 20 in war. And I’m a couple wars away from taking a COC break. Maybe I’ve been playing for way too long and it’s time to move on.

Our TH10 members didn't want to play last weekend or this as they are tired of being matched against TH11's they get 3 starred by and can only 2 star. It sounds like things haven't improved and they are losing interest in fighting lopsided wars. It does seem the only way to truly fix this is match based on TH level first, then potentially on Eagles, Inferno's, Xbows and troop strength. However this may break engineering in the game if an engineered TH has to meet an equivalent TH with proper defenses dropped. Sounds like I won't be warring for a while but will be watching this thread for improvements to hopefully sell our TH10's on to come back.

We just did a 20 v 20 war, we have 1 th11; our opponents have 6 th11s, their top 3 are near max; they even have a defenceless th11 at the bottom with max dragons. Worst match I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen some bad ones.

Since the MM update we're getting matched against more "engineered" bases than ever, but also clans 4 levels above us. As a combined result out of the last 7 wars we've won 1. Previously we would win at least 1 in 3, please sort the MM out! Why not make TH upgrades similar to the BB upgrades. No moving on till all items are built for that level. If TH sniping was made un-gamely like, why not treat engineered bases in the same way?

Or match TH in wars to TH levels to allow engineered bases!

Our latest match is 20 v 20; we have 16 th10s, 4 th9s.... wait for it....

...they have 8 th11s, 7 th10s, 4 th9s and a th8.

Their no1 has maxed infernos, maxed eagle, lvl11 warden, all defences higher than max th10 level, lvl24 queen, lvl22 king.
Their no2 has lvl4 infernos, maxed eagle, lvl8 warden, high defences and lvl18 king and queen
Their no3 has maxed infernos, all defences at th10 level or higher, lvl13 warden, lvl17 queen, lvl13 king
Their no4 has lvl4 infernos, lvl6 warden, all defences at max th10 level or higher, lvl27 queen, lvl25 king...

...their no7 and no10 have max bowlers and max laloon. This is beyond a joke.

The "New War MM Algorithm" was theoretically supposed to pit engineered clans versus other engineered clans, and non-engineered clans versus other non-engineered clans, am I correct? Please do correct me if I am wrong, but if that was not the intention then why any change at all. Anyway to my point... My clan is ZERO engineered and getting paired just about every war with heavily engineered clans?? I am not talking about 1 or two bases that may be engineered, I am talking TH 11s sitting at the bottom slot with maxed heros, and majority of the rest of the people in the clan following suit. We have a TH 7 at our bottom slot. Our number 1 base is a fully maxed out TH 11 defense, offense, heros and spells. We ran a 10 vs. 10 war last time with bases ranging as follows: 11,11,10,10,10,10,9,9,8,7, and their number 6 base attacked our number 1 base because he had maxed troops and heros... I'm just thoroughly confused at what is going on with this game at the moment, and would like a little transparency from the people at Supercell. The very least you can do is explain what is going on.

I have no idea what supercell are trying to achieve, if it’s to antagonise everyone I know who plays Clash of Clans they’re being successful. They talk about fixing the mm, but don’t back those words up with deeds.

My Feedback... War MM is lame. The allowable spread with top bases is too large and the fun is gone for me. Ive decided to take a break from wars as it takes too much time helping my clan plan their hits / bases if SC isnt going to do their job matching wars up properly. Its not rocket science - far from it.

Time to bring in some new talent SC

If you don't like what is going with with recent game changes, quit buying gems. That may be the only message that gets through to SC.

I have a team of near 40... Only 8 of us are currently in war. ( 2 decoys to make 10) war match making againts consistent engineer teams. ( Consistently out matched) draining the life out of team. Need Supercells help. They can make this work. At least I hope....

We were bleeding members & merged two clans. Got a 25v25 war with max th10 at top only to face 6 th11 engineered with max troops. We gave up on war after 22 hit our th9 at 4 with max drags. Game is a farce at minute. Lost another 2 members after match.

The matchmaker still doesn't address engineering well enough and still allows too much of a disparity in top hall levels, but what about the matchmaker is worse than ever? What changed recently that made it worse in your opinion?

It's great to see that SC is interested to fix the MM. Players are also waiting for this and want to help.
I can see that SC could have many faster ways to get data and suggestions what to change in MM. I see that SC should publish how they have fixed the MM and give future suggestions how to fix it. I believe here are many coders and lot's of understanding from the MM idea. Publishing the MM fixes gives of course some advance to players who want to use it in engineering way, but we have lot's of more players who want to stop it so we normal players will after all win. Many other game developers publishes how they fix the game so, why not?

Here are my suggestions what matters in good and balanced war:
1. Both clans have same amount of biggest town hall bases. (It doesn't matter if it's engineered or a normal). If one has example 2x th10 then the other have also 2x th10 (no matter if one is engineered). The other clan cannot have any th11, if the another clan doesn't have th11 base. Bigger th is always better, because it can have so much better troops and spells so this is too big advantage if other clan has bigger th in the war that another clan have.
2. Both clans have same amount of th10 inferno bases.
3. Both clans have same amount of th11 eagle artillery bases.

(Suggestions 2. and 3. other defences doesn't really matter so much. Those are the real things that matters.)

4. Second biggest th amount can vary little bit. My opinion is that it can vary with one base, but opponent must have at least one of them. Rest of the bases can also vary. My opinion is 1-2 in each amount of different th.
Example if there are: 2xth11, 2xth10, 4xth9, 2xth8 the opponent could have then: 2xth11 (suggestions 1-3.), 1-3xth10 (suggestions 2-4.), 2-6xth9 and 0-4xth8.

5. After suggestions 1-4 the MM algorithm counts war weights for the clan, but it can be much loosely than it was, because I see those parts 1-4 so much bigger things. If this starts to be a problem SC can tighten this part. Example if the war search times starts to grow too big.

These were the things what I see important in good and balanced wars. I can see things so that it might give some unbalanced wars at start, but players and clans can grow their villages and fix these things and start to get good balanced wars.

Of course I can see also much simpler way to fix this MM problem (it will totally kill engineers).

6. Only thing that is counted in MM, is numbers of different town halls. It doesn't matter is it normal, rushed or engineer. Both clans have identical amount of different town halls. There are so many different type of clans so this should give kindly good MM and forces players to raise their villages in the way it supposely was meant.

If SC doesn't want kill engineering then you could also give Clans an opportunity to choose what kind of wars clan wants to play. My suggestion for this is Casual wars (using the old MM or suggestions 1-5) and Ranked wars (suggestion 6). https://forum.supercell.com/showthre...-Ranked-war%29

This new algorithm has given much worse MM than the old one. I hope that my clan doesn't die, because we MM gives so much engineering clans against us and we can see at the start of the war already do we have any fair chances. Because SC doesn't tell how you changed the MM it makes the thing worse, because we don't know how to adapt for this new MM. Do you know? Now it looks like the only chance to get fair fights is to make an engineer clan (f*** yeah!).

2 years ago we were rushed clan, but after we knew how this was meant to be played we adapted whole clan and started to win about 70% of the wars (without engineers). If we could adapt I believe other clans can also adapt to this (many clans have adapted also for the engineer style in quite short time). But I can't see this engineer style fun anymore. Tell us how you changed the MM and we can help SC to give better MM for the players!

Ordered by defense weight. It doesn't look that bad on paper but most of their bases have maxed defenses and maxed heroes. Many of our th11s have weak heroes like 25/25/10 and our top guy has only th10 defense levels. (Maxed offense is like 2 vs 6 bases)

And before someone complains about our defenseless: We didn't have them in war before the mm change that was in favor of engineering. We usually had only .5 and a few rushed bases.

I won't complain about the defenseless, its just one of many strategies. It is difficult to match fairly however. True of the rest of your lineup, and the opponent too. If the matchmaker can't find a fair match it'll often throw you an unfair one.

Under previous iterations of the matchmaker that would mean an unfair one in your favor. Currently it seems to give out disadvantage more often. Perhaps due to 'flagging' - MM decides you're engineering, puts you up against other engineers (uh oh they're more heavily/effectively engineered). Perhaps it'll 'round up' your 10.5s and match them each to a shiny max th11.

I liked the old matchmaking. We always had about the same amount of th11 and th10.5 on both sides ... now it's all about who has got the best engineered clan. The enemy clan has got 492 wins btw ... the highest number I've seen.

I'm skeptical of this. Under the previous MM 10.5s were advantageous, often matching 10s. That's why so many did it, the sudden reversal is causing some whiplash. I'd say time to drop the eagle.... but I was saying that roughly a year ago when .5s were suddenly nerfed, and SC reversed course a couple months later and heavy .5s were advantageous again.

Matching has some serious issues after the patch. We are getting opponents with higher defensive power as well as higher offensive power. My clan is lvl12 #YR2CUVY9, with 261 wins 87 losses. Good win ratio? But check out last 9 wars -> 7 losses(4 back to back losses in last 4),just 2 wins. Thats how much match making is f***ed up. Fix it, Fix it fast. When i complain supercell, they say post it on forum, what next eh?

Seems to be if a clan is mildly/moderately engineered, they are paired with a clan that is either the same or crazy engineered. You don't hear the clans with th11s and maxed heroes at #48&49 complaining.

My take after playing this game for (too many) years is that the mildly engineered clans and the extreme engineered clans both beat up the non-engineered ("fair" haha) clans. The last whined, SC caved, and now its falling apart. And now the mildly engineered clans (like mine) are whining, but there a whole lot of us.

They jumped the shark with the builder hall.

Still no response from SC tho... Too bad they're not publicly traded. I smell a short opportunity.

Actually, after I have been following suggestions to drop the 9,75 or defenseless th or small th sandbagging from our rosters, our clan has been getting fairer match most of the time. Not easy match, but definately fair in regards to attack and defense power. We used to hold back on defense and it takes a while for us to max our defense at one go, but while getting there, we find that once you get the idea of balance, this war MM is actually better than it has ever been.

Try not to include too much 0,5 if you have any. We would only take two th0,5 for each th 11 and th 10 in a 30 v 30 war, and those 0,5s don’t have max heroes usually. And the risk of them getting matched with th11 with ea or th10 with infernos are something that will happen, and we are fully aware of the risk.

Though we are not on a long streak like the previous MM, we kind of enjoy having a fair war where all that matters is skill, dip strategy, and good base design.

One clan is getting somewhat bad matches (2 eagle deficit in a 25 person war) but my mini is a clan that is getting right royally hosed by the mm. We have had 7 and 10 eagle deficits in the last two wars and this war is 14 I think in a 50person war. Complaining to Supercell is futile as the last message I got back was ‘we cannot help you further at this time’. Players are bailing.

You must be running a bunch of 10.5 or high hero TH10 bases. I can't see how the other clan could possibly have that many more Eagles otherwise.

MM is horrid at the moment. When we were outmatched before MM it would be against 1-2 more TH11 attacks from bottom of map. Now we are being MM at top of map and placed against clans with stronger defense and offense at the top. I wish this thread was in the ( general area) just for more traffic.. but since no one seems to want to hear the truth about the match Making needing work. We are thrown in war area posting. Gotta luv that. I'm sorry just ran out of things to say. But for 6,000 post and counting ( overall) maybe more mm needs work Supercell..
