Bolts... more scarce than platinum ore...
Hayday bolts are my headache. But believe it or not, I was on tour through Belgium and parked at an old factory parking lot. I opened the door, placed my foot outside on the asphalt and now lookie here. Believe me, I got a shock, a thrill, goosebumps all over! After catching my breath I was able to photograph my excitement and I just felt like sharing it with you ;)

Does this mean that Bacon and Eggs are replacing my bolt fettish?
I hope that I can turn back to normal after this silly, unattainable event.
Never have nails or duct tape
I have 3x more planks, screws, bolts etc than i could ever need, but never any darn nails or tape!!! I dont care to expand right now so i always sell any markers, deeds and mallets that i get

Bolts and other sem and bem...
After playing a while now I have noticed that every farm has one item that will pop up more often. Trading with other people is the best way to get your missing items. It seems like the harder you look, the harder it gets. I have played with no sem and bem in my barn and they pop up everywhere, harvesting crops, producing, feeding the animals and reading the paper. It seems sem and bem supply gets squeezed when you have more :-) (I guess :-) )
No need to pronounce, just call me G :-)

Thank you all in advance!
Re your quote theory! I like it! Sounds about right!

Hi Everyone,
I'm quoting my own post as a reminder of my theory. I think I'm on to something here.
The duct tape was so hard to acquire and I would get (if I was lucky) one a week. Bolts and planks came in abundance but the illusive duct tape would not come. Since I needed 50 of each to upgrade, I knew that it would take FOREVER to get enough duct tape to expand.
A wonderfully kind neighbor helped me with enough duct tape to upgrade my barn to begin my experiment. As per the above post, I wanted to see if my theory had any merit so I didn't upgrade my barn right away, I left it and got rid of most of my products stored in my barn so that I had room to collect expansion materials.
After I had the 50 duct tape (got on 20 Jan 14) and did not need to struggle for the expansion, I began to get duct tape. It wasn't a slow process either. They started popping out of the field, in mystery boxes, harvesting from animals, all sorts of things. I had acquired 14 in one day alone! It now has been 4 days since my neighbor (you know who you are and I love ya!) helped me with the duct tape and I've already got 40 more for the next expansion.
In conclusion, I believe that my theory has merit. We all know we get multitudes of some items and they just keep coming. But that one illusive one is the frustrating one. We upgrade as soon as we get that last one - bringing us back to the poverty of that one item. We're back to square one, struggling for bolts, duct tape, whatever.
My intention now is to always be one upgrade ahead. Yes, it does take up barn space, there's no denying that. But when one is frustrated, as a lot of us are, because we can't get these items, it's not as much fun to play this amazing game.
We all play the way it suits us best and I respect that for every one of us. To channel the boredom I was feeling into something a little more constructive was a whole lot of fun. You might need help at first, like I did with my wonderful neighbor, but I think that there is something to this experiment and I'm going to keep going and see if this trend continues. I'll update all of you again, if you like, on how it's going.
Wish me luck!
