Chinese political censorship in clash of clans

Dear players and staff,

I am noticing very aggressive political censorship happening in clash of clans to many Chinese words and phrases. For example the names of high ranking government officials, or even the word "police" (when typed in chinese). The censoring is happening to both global and in-clan chats. All these words show up as asterisks.

I know there is censoring on swearing or abusive words, and it's only applied on global chat. However I cannot find any topics on the forums about Chinese political censorship in the game.

I am physically in North America and I suppose supercell is not a Chinese company, so the firewall of China should not be involved here.

Can you please tell me who is imposing the censoring? Supercell or China? And technically how it can happen to users outside of china? Are the game servers hosted in China?

SC got acces to China's server (China is not connected as much as the rest of the world's internet infrastructure) and they need to obey the Chinese law, so that mean, they even need to censor "June 4" and "corrupt" with other explicit words. Or else, they will be booted out of China, losing a big share of money. China has a potential to make.

Thats just China, but. CoC is not blocked by the Great Firewall of China, since I can talk to other in China

I dont think you can create the clan NSDAP with Adolf Hitler as the Fuehrer (which means leader in German) either.

Guys,no harm here but im "Fuhrer" of the clan. Go to german and find your leader's title be "clanfuhrer"

Looks like they went to exact defenition. keep it that way. its not that offensive really, if you have more knowledge about german and not about the history of the words

Oh please, this is not at the same level at all.
Racism, hate, swearing obviously should not be allowed, most people would agree on that.

But Chinese censorship includes everything that the government does not like!

It's real name is Ku Klux Klan (but they couldn't type that because it would be banned). It was a hate group that formed after the end of the American Civil War that hates blacks and just went around killing them. Really, really, bad.
