Pekka splash
Pekkas are a flagship troop for CoC but they are so rarely used in any meta since the various gowi strategies long since abandoned. One way to reinvent this troop would be to add a small splash component to the attack. There would still be the current large strike. In addition, as the sword hits the ground it would great a reverberation that would inflict splash damage albeit at a much smaller scale than the focused single hit.
This would help pekkas in a number of ways and it will not, I do not believe, make them OP (as long as the splash is balanced). Some key improvements would be the ability to kill multiple archers, barbs, gobs in a single blow & if the pekka can almost 1 shot a tower it will now be one shoted by a direct hit if that tower had previously been impacted by a splash wave. However, it will not make them any better against a lone structure thus allowing for base building around the splash adding a new component on that end as well.
For what it's worth, I am a th11 with nothing left but walls and 2 cannons to do. I do not use pekkas and do not plan to. I just think they should be more relevant.

I completely agree that the pekka needs something to bring her back into the meta. I do see th8-9 using her in war with success but I rarely see her at higher levels. This is a good idea imo. Not a large damage increase but just a little splash damage would make her way more useful. I'm sure SC could tweak this idea to make it work in game and not mess up balance. Great idea!

I can't remember if I wrote a thread about this once upon a time or not, but I'd love it. I always thought a small electrical burst to deal splash damage would be thematic. PEKKAs are horribly crippled by even a small swarm of weak troops, and I think this clears that up without much changing how they work normally
