:) simply meravilious!!
:) simply meravilious!!
Sorry for late reply guys, haven't been able to be on last couple of days... but to answer your question darkstrategist, someone else put that tag up january of this year haha, so that date already passed ;) Who knows what will happen this year... guess you'll have to wait to find out :D
Also mastermind, when is your next idea coming? It's been "soon" for half a year now, you're turning into Supercell!:rolleyes::rolleyes:
(sorry for double post - tablet won't let me edit for some reason)
Amazing idea! Hope it gets implemented to the game!
yes yes yes Yes YEs YES!!!!
Very true, and if I was paid .000000001% of what SC makes to create my next idea it would have been out 6 months ago lol, but unfortunately other priorities (paid ones) come first and have just been really busy lately :(
Thanks!!!
Reduce the time for all troops. I have to wait 8 minues for a single giant. Please reduce on the next update. Thank You.
AMAZING!! HOPE SUPERCELL ADDS THIS! pls
Need this now!!!!!!!!!
this is the best idea on the forums. supercell needs to implement this!!
Love the idea. Hope this is worked on and added in the future.
Absolutely well thought out idea, youve covered just about everything that needed to be covered. This definitely needs to be implemented!
Amazing idea like the idea hope to see supercell make this happen by Christmas
SC, why is this not in the game? This is the most viewed, commented and read (non-sticked) thread on the forums. And it's not in the game???????? This doesn't make any sense SC. Add this!!!!!!!!
One of the first threads I've ever seen
Why has SC not added it yet? This needs to be implemented now!!! +10
Nicely done. I only posted this coz i wanted to reach the end of thread lol.
Worst idea ever, this will make people less likely to go inactive, thus reduce the loots available to raid.
Raiding gives more loot than this. And once the update is released for it the playing people will bounce right up. The loot problem is also fixed because more loot received, more loot to take!!
para mantener el juego entretenido
usted tiene que poner un montón de ideas de cómo concuros misisones o eventos temporales al menos una vez a la semana, que alla eventos.
Thanks everyone! Appreciate your desire for the idea, let SC know if you want it!
Sure more people would play (which is why SC should add it for more gemming potential, as well as the countless other ways this idea has monetary potential for them) but as you can see by reading the thread, the idea would add more loot into the economy, through direct winnings, wheel rewards, wheel prizes like upgraded gold/elxir mines to level 12 (instead of the original extra mine), etc. It's a win-win for the player base and SC as far as I'm concerned!
Been reading this for a long time, havent commented until now, but from what i am seeing, it is a fantastic idea!
Great idea. i'm asking myself WHY NO SUPERCELL ADM HAS ADDED THIS YET
Scratch the grand wheel spin prize as a spell factory boost. Make it give you one extra spell slot for X days! Or 1-2 extra based on spell factory level or cut cost of spells by 30%-50% based on level again. I feel a reduction or cost or one extra would be more on par then a boost... I can but that with a few gems I can collect in a day.
CoolishReagent
YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF YOU WORKED EXTREMELY HARD WITH THIS POST AND I THINK ITS A GREAT IDEA AND SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE GAME KEEP THE GOOD WORK UP:cool::cool::cool::cool:
took me a while to read but it was worth it
This is what I like to see on the forums. Threads that mean something. Thankyou mastermind for posting this and for posting your two other threads. I would be surprised if this wasn't implemented in the game soon.
I LOVE THE IDEA...
Even if just to incentivize me to use different attack techniques.
+1
Wow... great effort. Would definitely love a witch statue. Lol...
Sorry I've been MIA for the past week or so, just been really busy :/
Thanks so much guys :)
I like your thinking, although I think 1 extra spell slot COULD be too overpowered hehe. Reducation in cost (maybe free for 4 days?) would be grand in my opinion!
Thanks everyone for your well-thought out replies, it really means a lot :D
I still wonder why this isn't in game yet.
This is the most popular idea and posted over 1 year ago!
This has many positive impacts and almost no negative sides still they haven't even started working on this.
It would bring life to the game and SC's pockets as well
When was the last time you asked SC about your idea? What did they say?
Send a new PM and ask again about it :)
PLS PLS PLS PLS PLS PUT THIS IN THE GAME!!!!! Great idea Mastermind
Mastermind is not only famous on his awesome idea
Hyrule Knights(clan) is the most organized, family-like clan I ever seen.
We are Family(Daily chat)
We are disciplined
SC if you want more money add this. Simple as that.
Free bump!
Everyone should see this thread!
Thanks guys for all the compliments and nice things said about this idea! ExcellentPosts, appreciate it man. And last time I heard them talk about this idea was almost a year ago. Haven't heard anything since :/ They do know how much the playerbase wants this idea the way how it is laid out in this thread. And they know it's the most requested and viewed idea, now just waiting to see what happens next ;)
Hey Chand, thanks for the post but we'll keep the clan stuff in it's own thread. With that said if anyone wanted to check out the clan, read that thread!
Magma Storm:Use an army of 4-8 lava hounds to 3 star a base
Great idea!:)
Amazing ideas and possibly even more amazing is how well the graphics are done! makes it much easier for us to visualize :)
Why isn't it implemented into the game yet?:confused:
this is so good , gimme gimme!
Sorry guys for not responding to you all in the past few days, haven't been able to be on as much lately :( Really happy you like this idea though, means a lot :D
Great ideas.. Only issue is the difficulty of the quests.. they are relatively easy for an active guy with 2-3 hours of free time, but for a lot of ppl who play, they are maybe on 10-30 minutes a day. For me, although on weekends it feels like I'm clashing all day, on school/soccer days I raid once in the morning, retrain, and raid once(twice if I'm lucky) at night.
True and it is a tough balance because some say make them harder, some say easier, all having to do with the amount of time people play. Thats why I like 2 solutions: the first is detailed throughout my OP in that Quests would have random numbers for completion so the Good Friend Quest may be donate 50 in 1 hour one time, and the next time it may be donate 400 in 5 hours. By completing more difficult quest, the percent chance of getting rare rewards like Quest Jewels or gems goes up significantly.
Another solution is to allow you to choose (via sliders) if you want very easy, easy, medium, hard, or very hard quests. The harder the difficulty chosen, the better the rewards.
How do those solutions sound?
This is GENIUS
I really hope that this will be implemented, but with some changes. :D
1) The story behind the quests
I really don't think this should be there. Clash of Clans doesn't have a story; why does the quest balloon need one? The player is not told why elixir creates troops, why gems are "magical", so they do not need to br told why there is a quest balloon, either. The idea of it having a story just feels wrong in that it doesn't match the rest of the game.
2) The quests
Some quests, such as donate X number of troops, or raid X people, or raid X people with no nexting, seem boring and repetitive. This WILL turn CoC into a grind for participants. Interesting, fun, and challenging quests ONLY are required. This seems impossible with the current development of CoC, so I propose:
NPC bases in addition to SOME VERY UNIQUE quests. Like Operations in Boom Beach, each person pays a fee to start the event and his or her "attacking power" (troops, spells, heroes, etc., SC should have these formulas already for wars) is compared and put into a bracket at the start of each event. Based on the bracket, the player is assigned a base to attack (maybe with a set army only for the daily challenge, that doesn't require any elixir). There will be a leaderboard for each bracket, where the top scorers get an additional reward.
For example:
Attack a preset base with 30 valkyries and 5 heal spells. The reward is based on the stars multiplied by percentage, multiplied by a multiplier based on the attacker's bracket.
Also, the quests for "protecting" your buildings are not a good idea. Who you get raided by and how they attack are not under your control. If you want to raid, the quest could deter you from breaking shield. If you are a TH8 pushing to Masters, this quest is impossible. If you are in Champions, this quest is impossible as well. Thus, I believe this should not be implemented.
3) The rewards
They seem a little low. If someone grinds hours to complete quests, they should get a reward proportional to the amount of time they spent. 200k gold for a monthly reward for playing hours a day is very close to nothing.
4) Permanent rewards
I am talking about the extra gold mine, collector, and drill. CoC is supposed to be a no-pressure game. If players do not want to spend hours completing quests, they should not be forced to do it to retain their competitive edge.
5) The seasonal quests
To put it quite frankly.... I hate this part of your idea. I love a lot of it, but I hate this part. The idea that I must spend hours grinding and thousands of elixir and dark elixir to get something that cannot be achieved any other way repels me because CoC is supposed to be a no-pressure game, where I can play how I want (such as a player playing 3 hours a week should eventually achieve the same base as a player who spends 3 hours a day).
In summary:
A good idea, but I believe that if this feature is not made unique from the rest of the game, it will change CoC into a grinding type of game - something no one wants.
Thanks!
Excellent post X3786!
1. Sure it doesn't have to have a story, it's more of my personal explanation. More for fun.
2. The Quests and rewards were just examples. But I think there is asuch a large number of Quests they could implement, that it wouldn't get repetitive. I listed probably 1/20 of what they could do. Your idea of NPC baes (which I talk about in one of my threads) is an entirely different idea. This thread was just focused on my proposal for quests. If people didn't want to do Quests or didn't like them, they wouldn't have to. But many of the quests I proposed would be fun and change attack strategies, defense layouts, and basically change the extreme monotony of the current game. Te examples you gave are just base ideas ;)
3. Yeah again, the rewards are just examples. And in my thread I detail how the harder the Quest (same quest different values) the better the rewards. But the values could all be adjusted. But there needs to be a healthy balance between too much and too little I agree, and that's for SC to decide.
4. Yeah it's been talked about a lot in forums, but while I (and many others like the idea of a permanent reward liek that or a decoration to try and earn), others find it controversial and I can see that. While the pressure would be self caused, many [perfectionists would have to get it (a fantastic thing for SC). In the comments however I agree that it should just be changed into a 5 day or week long boost of resource production.
5. Once again, those types of Quests are just examples. If SC did implement this idea, they would change the Quests and values to be whatever they wanted. Something that we've talked about throughout the comments is the idea of adding a difficulty slider for Quests (before you get them). Could be easy-hard on a scale of 1-5. Do the easiest and get easiest Quests (for casuals) but less rewards. For those who play a lot, they may want the Quests to be more difficult so they could get much larger rewards. This solution would help all players IMO.
The thing is: everyone is different. Throughout the thousands of comments, people think the rewards/quests are too little or too much. It's tough to balance because everyone plays at different amounts. Most people love the holiday aspect. All the Quests would be optional. But the idea of adding difficulty sliders would help everyone.
Appreciate the feedback, but there are many ways to make it not a grind. Plus at the end of the day if people didn't want to do them, they wouldn't have to. As show by most of the comments in this thread, people would want to. There are hundreds of different Quests they could implement, and to make them fun. Just changing up the current monotony is what most people on these forums and in game want. Something to enhance current gameplay but to add something different while earning loot.
Supercell... ADD THIS NOW!!!
After 217 pages i think sc has seen this. Any month now and we will be seeing this live. Great job on your other (already implemented) ideas.
I need SC to add this on next update
i'm just replying to this thread so it will show up in front of all threads :)
is my grammar wrong?
Thanks for responding, Mastermind!
I understand that you are trying to break the monotony of the game, but some of the quests are just things players do already, such as donating troops or attacking. I don't really feel these are necessary or will help break the monotony of thr game.
The more interesting quests, such as attacking x players or defending your buildings, I think should be directly based off of the player's trophies and a player's "strength level" used in clan wars. This is the only way to make the quest system fair for everyone.
The idea for attacking set bases is not in your original idea, but I feel that it would best "fit" when poaced in the quest system.
I can only see the permanent rewards, especially the seasonal ones, causing problems. For example:
I was on vacation during Halloween and didn't have the time to devote to the game, and I missed getting the witch statue! All my friends have it! **** Supercell!
Dang, now I can't get into any good clans because I don't have the statue and they don't think I'm active enough!
or
I'm 1 away from getting the statue...
*Halloween event ends*
*Rage quit, rage on forums, and 1 star review*
I suggest just giving players a big resource reward for each seasonal quest completion, instead of a permanent reward. Keep the seasonal obstacle and players will not be disappointed that they missed exclusive seasonal content.
Difficulty slider is a good idea, or just "tiers" of quests that people can complete - tier 1, extremely easy, to tier 5, for hardcore players. Complete Tier 1, and you are automatically entered into tier 2, until tier 5.
In my opinion, SC should just give another collector to people. Then you would get a boost from the wheel. The quests shouldn't be required for anyone, including perfectionists (I am one).
So I have changed my view that this will turn into a grind, but set difficulty should be required, and I still think that permanent rewards are a bad idea.
If we consider that total loot must be controlled to avoid upgrades becoming too easy, how do you implement a quest/reward system without breaking the game while still being meaningful enough to accomplish them?
Though the dynamism that quests would bring seems quite promising and would bring coc up to date with almost every other mobile game out there
I like the general idea. However I don't know if Supercell would add such a thing.
I had to go to page 9 to find this thread... Guess it is time to bump it up to the front again and keep it going!:)
How do you edit your images to make them look like real in-game images? I'd really like to know since I'd like to make a thread that reauires alot of pictures to explain. Thanks!
By the way, I really love your idea.
This being up for over a year and SC saying not this update constantly leads me to believe that they are never going to get added.
And just to think, all of this gone to waste :(
:(:( I hope not but i doubt they would let such an awesome idea go to waste. Yet again this is a lot of stuff they got to add and they probably didn't get straight to it and/or it's on the list of stuff. or they could be working on it but it would take a while since it would be a LOT of code!
WOAH! I can see that you spent hours and days on this. This is amazing. Everything in this post I hope gets added to the game. I t would be something very cool to see and I like the idea that it adds more content and it adds things to do while your just waiting for an upgrade or something. It would make you want to play more often. :) Amazing post dude.
The best idea I have ever seen. I hope Supercell sees this and implements it. Keep up the good work!:):)
Just wow dude. The overall idea is just amazing. It adds an extra motivation to play the game, which is great if the upgrades are taking longer and longer and most definitly for the maxed out players. Also the names for the challenges cracked me up, there were some real funny ones!
Maybe the numbers need some extra thinking, since for example a 87.000 (I thought?) elixer prize for donating 30 dragons seems a bit unfair.
I know it's been a long time since you came up with this idea, but I sure hope SC will implement it in the game! Great work man!
Great idea!!! I'd love to have this implemented, especially after how much work you've clearly put into it... someone should start a petition.
Some great ideas here - Would love to see them implemented! I don't think it'll be game-breaking at all ... It just means SC has to work hard at implementing a (quite large) addition to the game, while making sure it's not exploitable.
But nice work OP!
i totally support this but this will take a good percentage of gem buyers from supercell so i doubt this will be supported.
Not a single post from super cell
Keep posting people dont let this post be forgotten
uhhh...
Attachment 79045
there kinda has been lol
OooooooooooooOOOoOo
Didn't see that
I honestly don't know why supercell hasn't added this yet. lol:p
who are you and who sent you?
Someone throw him some gems for the huge and brilliant idea.
Nah but seriously this is awesome. I would love to see "mini quests" in the game for some extra rewards.
If i worked at supercell i would hire you, matter of facts wanna grind for me?
Lol just kidding. Peace!
genius.
employ him
Thanks everyone SOOOO much! You are all way too kind but I am so happy you still want this idea after more than a year :) Makes me happy. Sorry I haven't been able to check up as often as before, but I still read every comment!
I think we'll have to agree to disagree ;) Although I can see where you are coming from, I'm just of a different opinion as are most of the posters.
I think everyone wants something different. Some players would want Quests they can do while playing the game as they always do. Some want something completely different to do to shake up the monotony. That's why a random dose of various types of Quests would be needed, as everyone is different and has different opinions on what Quests they would want. If they don't like the Quest, they wouldn't have to do it, or they could pay a small (like 10 gem) fee to change that Quest into a new one. Donation Quests would help clans in a small way too, and could get some clan unity, even if its something minor like helping a clan member finish his quest by requesting/donating.
I can see your point about the permanent statue rewards. Although as a business move for SC, it would be great as more people would be potentially spending gems to help finish Quests (if they don't have time) to get a statue. For the players who can't play during a holiday, then they wouldn't receive a participation award for playing. Like I said, I can see where you are coming from, but I just have a different viewpoint. I like the idea of rare rewards (trees, headstones, etc) that show you played during a certain time. I fully believe having seasonal quests would get SIGNIFICANTLY more players playing vs players rage quitting, and honestly I don't think it's even close ;) Again, just my opinion.
I too am a perfectionist, but if I don't play, I understand that I don't deserve a rare reward that people who do play get. And I agree about the difficulty slider. I want to redo this idea with updated information and pictures in video format, so those will be included. Thanks for the post and please post more so we can discuss how to improve the idea, appreciate it!
Exactly Gama! It is tough to balance the resource numbers, but if people spend time doing these Quests, depending on the difficulty, they deserve to be rewarded if they take time to specifically do these Quests, when they could just farm for a 200k base. I think the resource figures I put up would need to be increased IMO.
QUITE the contrary actually hehe. This idea will garner SC a HUGE amount of more gem purchasers than potential gem losses from people earning free gems. The chance the earn gems is minor, but there will be many ways people can spend gems, including changing Quests, buying Quest Jewels (with Wheel Spin limits), adding more time to Quests, redoing/respinning wheel, and a bunch of other ways SC can monetize this idea. The best part about it (much like builder huts) is that you wouldn't have to spend gems, they would simply aid Quests process if needed.
I think i would play clash if this were added
they don't have enough ingame items of value
for instance in boom beach there are 4 variants of powerstones with 3 grades of quality
this makes daily rewards and base drops more valuable and interesting than standard resources
they need some new valuable in-game items to be made for this idea to be fully awesome
Tl;dr, i fully support this idea
Agreed. ;) But I still feel a need to reply to everything you said.
I don't think trying to please everyone is a good idea. Players already bored of the monotony will be angry that a quest wants them to donate X troops or raid X times, and I don't want to spend gems to get rid of it - this will just cause hate. However, encouraging players to try new things can't be bad - they could discover a new attack strategy or base that they really like, while otherwise playing the game normally!
Still 100% against the permanent statue idea. I believe this is because of the hours and hours grinding I have done in other games to get a reward, only to find it as hollow and unsatisfying as the grinding itself. This is what I picture grinding for the statue will be like. I don't want this to be a part of clash. If I feel this way, then people who gemmed for the statue will feel even worse - they might flood the forums or App Store with negative comments/reviews.
Although participation in the seasonal quests is optional, there are many ways in-game in which a player can be pressured into participation - clans requiring it, peer pressure, etc.
An easier way for SC to reward players who participated in the holiday events would be to give players who play more an increased spawn rate for seasonal obstacles.
This post may have seemed very negative, but I am still for the quests idea ;), but against the seasonal reward.
Even though this was not part of your suggestion, and SC can choose to implement it differently, this concerns me. I don't want a quest system that spams "spend gems" at every opportunity, or one that has 5 buttons to spend gems on different things on each screen - I don't think other players want this either. The opportunities to spend gems should be fair in consideration to what you get, and you shouldn't be able to buy everything with gems. You cannot directly buy trophies; you cannot directly buy GG. I believe that the quest jewels should be treated like Power Stones in Boom Beach - they are impossible to buy directly and are therefore the most prized items in the game for high level players (I think sometimes more than diamonds, but I'm not "high level" so I wouldn't know).
I loooove this Idea!!!!!!! It's been Over a whole year! How has SC Not added this in yet?! I don't see any reason why SC Hasn't added this yet! I like it 100%. If SC Hasn't even ever seen this my jaw would drop to the center of the earth.
~Billlans
P.S. I had to put in (Hasn't even ever) xD
The problem with monotony doesn't really crop up until TH9, and only then do upgrades become really expensive.
Maybe quests should be unlocked for TH9 and 10 only? And as for clan wide quests, these would only count in TH9s and 10s and only these would participate.
Also the concern about too easily gained resources would be countered by that.
Quests....DEFINATELY on my christmas wish list !!!
TS
SC?! How haven't you added this yet?! I read the ENTIRE Post! Clash of Clans NEEDS this! I don't understand why its been over a year as its not in CoC. C'mon Supercell, Everyone wants this.
I am thoroughly impressed with this post. My hats off to you sir for putting in the effort to elaborately explain you're vision. While reading this I was honestly thinking about logging into clash to see if there was a magical balloon waiting to give me a quest lol. But seriously this type of update (I believe) would be beneficial to everyone as it will keep more players engaged and online playing the game. Sure it will most likely get tweaked some to accommodate supercell, but ultimately it will expand the game's range and make it more appealing to current players, and keep them from getting bored with extremely long times to upgrade, farm, and wait on troops and spells. Even if it takes a year to implement this update (hopefully not) it would be worth it. Think of it as a gap filler.
I like this idea (I like the entire idea, but I'm focusing on this one because there is a possibility that my input could improve/help shape it, unlike the rest). I would think that a smaller scale Army Camp type building would be an option as a staging area for quests (this would also give it a secondary use as a distraction building for defense, just like camps, huts, barracks, etc). Having somewhere for the Quest balloons to congregate would make sense, and it could function as the operating point for the Quests, much like the Clan button when selecting the Clan Castle. With the new updates, your proposed button on the interface is no longer applicable, and many players would agree that the interface is becoming to cluttered. As far as your idea on entrance and exit, it might be easier for SC to just copy existing code from troop donations (enter from top, exit to bottom), of course altering it so that they fly to the Quest Camp. Could mimic CC even further and provide storage for Quest rewards (perhaps even going so far as to being able to choose when Wheel Rewards take affect).
Big fan of this entire idea, Daily Quests are now on my Christmas List.
P.S. I would love to hear your thoughts on Clan Tournaments, even if it's just a complete dissection of the ideas found here: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...War-Tournament
