Only someone who is already a co-leader can be promoted to leader
Strikes me that you have a very poor taste in co-leaders if you made this mistake as anyone with trustworthy co-leaders would hand leadership back in this sort of situation.
Don’t blame SC, blame your own decision making....
Apologies, no offence however the truths of what I say still stand.
They shouldn’t have promoted players who aren’t trustworthy to the position of Co in order for this to even be an issue. Why should SC change the game interface just to deal with their poor choices?
To be clear they have had to do the following: -
Permit into clan
Promote to elder
Promote to co-leader
Promote to leader
That’s a lot of ‘accidents’ for it to get that far. Perhaps these leaders should be stronger with handing out elder and co promotions.
To promote a co leader to leader you have to
Step 1, go to clan overview and select player
Step 2, select to promote as leader
Step 3, confirm at this screen

And how exactly is that not asking you to confirm, or how exactly is a 3 step process not good enough to prevent accidents?
of couse there is a prompt!
but it would be gr8 if we had to literally type confirm to promote some one to leader!

someone recently posted about losing leadership by accidentally promoting someone to leader when he actually wanted to kick him!
Mmh, oops, I accidentally booked 3000 instead of 300 into that contractors bank account. Dear bank, please get me a screen to type CONFIRM instead of asking me to only put in codes and click confirm button.
Serious guys, this is about noobs not reading the messages and just clicking the ok button after being frustrated and wanting to kick a co that probably should not be co anyway. You know what, if you are a leader getting that fed up on something with a co that you are missing that "step down" message, you dont deserve to be leader in the first place!
