Trophy Inflation

I have always moved dramatically around while farming.... but



When I did my dragon push early this last summer I noticed allot tougher bases at even Gold I than I do now. I farmed pretty long at Crystal recently and there are a handful of TH 7 and a good number of TH 8. Still lots of TH9 and 10 but many of them are premature. And now I am looking at collector raiding around 1800 trophies

I think this is due to the Achievement of making it to crystal. Because once I get to 2100 trophies those easier bases pretty much disappear. Add in the league bonuses and I believe some of those players hang around picking on their peers.

Yeah, in my push i found a couple of TH7s at 2200 then none after that. Previously prime spot for collectors was probably around 1200-1400 imo, now you see you have to go up to 1800 for collectors

I can't speak for anything above TH7, but my loot in the 1100-1300 range hasn't changed in weeks. I still find plenty of collector raids (found one with 2.4 million resources earlier in fact), but I do seem to be having to search a few extra times occasionally to find my 800k+ targets (I attribute that to a recent update that caused people to get on and collect).

I don't think the farming ranges will change much since it's mostly inactive bases that people look for which hover in certain ranges. I do think it may be much harder to find targets now because you have potentially twice as many people looking for those same inactive bases you are, you just have to be lucky enough to catch one coming off a shield. I do however think trophies at the top end will fluctuate up slightly as plenty of android gemmers join the ranks and trophy hunt making more targets for everyone, this is what I've observed in other games with ladders at least.

Good point. For sure the rankings will change, but with recent spate of cheáting going, I am not sure how far they can reach without hitting the wall of friend shields etc.

lol was thinking this this morning. because of the new members from android down here at 1,350-1,400 TH6's are dominating the looting gonna try to BAM at 1,600+

I have heard that at lower trophy levels, trophies are imputed into the game, so that it isn't a 1:1 trophy swap. Once at higher trophy levels, whatever trophies are lost and gained by the opposing player. This supports this idea that farming ranges will go up.

Let me give you a example. Say you are at 100 trophies and you raid someone with 115 trophies. Lets say that you win and get 30 trophies. But, the opponent would only loose 1 trophy, or so i have heard. This means that trophies were put into the game. So, to explain this, before the raid, there was 215 trophies combined between the 2 players, but after the raid, there was 244 trophies. So, in this single attack there was a gain of 29 to COC. So, if this happens many times, which it obviously does, players would then have more trophies than in the past. I hope this helps you out.

Gotcha. I still don't see how that would cause a trophy inflation though for farming, it's adding trophies at extremely low numbers to get them into league ranges and prevent the other person from hitting 0. Abandoned bases will always hover in ranges as they win/lose (always losing resources, but often the farmer doesn't bother getting 1 star) which will cause farmers to continue dropping trophies intentionally to stay in that range. As long as abandoned bases stay in a certain range, farmers will stay. It'd require a lot of low level THs failing miserably over and over against those vastly superior bases to push them up far enough to not get farmed back down, something I really don't think will happen. More likely those players would see the tougher bases and drop back down like they do now. I guess time will tell, but I don't think much will change.

This makes sense, because of the influx of players will it be easier to climb trophies?
