I need soybean

I need soybean! My animals have been with no feed for a few days, because of it. I don't have coins for Tom, I don't have ANY real money to hire Tom. The paper never has soybean, if it does, people have already gotten it. I am the only one in my neighborhood, so I can't trade. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Since leaving an employer in 2015, I haven't been able to get a long term job. Been with them for 18 years straight. Then something happened where I wasn't helped, i had to quit. With so much retail experience, I would expect to be able to work in a retail facility, but I have been getting rejected by the computer. I had a holiday job that I had for only 2 months, could have been 3 months, but I went thru surgery.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get more soybean!!!

I have a suggestion: I have extra plots I use for decoration. I plant rice or indigo usually to add some color. If you find you have extra plots you can't make work into your design or extra plots you just don't need, you can use some to plant some emergency crops elsewhere on the farm. Use the crop as a sort of a deco or just hide it somewhere. If you find you run out of the same crop often, that can be your emergency crop.

I am a passionate grinder, i grind mostly corn (wheating corn lol) and lately mostly soya. Many thousands every day. True, it vanishes in seconds at max price.

So, Midori, assuming that you have either gotten soybeans from SmallChange or found some in the DD, what is your plan for maintaining enough of a supply of each crop so that you can restock your inventory? I seem to remember going through this same routine quite a while back when you couldn't find something like lettuce.

You've been farming for at least two and a half years, and I think most of us forum regulars are familiar with farm management decisions you've made like not buying all the machines. You've also let us know about your struggles with health, employment, old/slow devices, diamonds/coins, and your neighborhood. We try to help, but it gets discouraging when all our suggestions fall into the realm of things that you aren't comfortable doing (trading, joining another neighborhood, interacting with farmers through the game and not just in the forums).

The thing the forums are most useful for is helping farmers get past a temporary problem and learn how to avoid that problem in the future. I'd love it if you could let us know how you plan to keep up a stock of soybeans (and other crops) now that you've gotten a fresh start.

By the way, I ran an experiment this morning. A friend needed 3 boat crates of soybeans. I filled them all which took me down to 6 soybeans. I planted those 6 and was restocked in a reasonable amount of time. When we get a new crop, we only get 3 to begin. Building up a supply is no problem for an experienced farmer. So, again, what routine do you plan to use from here on? Here's mine:

• Harvest all ready-to-pick field plots
• Check my silo inventory using the little 3-page crop-sowing window
• Replace the crops with the lowest inventory first (my plots are in blocks of nine which I can sow with different crops in each block or the same crop in multiple blocks)
• I have 11 blocks (99 plots) and I reserve 4 of those for "page one" crops like soybeans

I never run out of field crops except for rare occasions when I buy wheat from the DD.

All this is possible to do on my own without getting crops from friends and neighbors. My silo isn't very large considering my level--2150. I have very seldom gotten expansion materials from neighbors and almost never trade. I like being 99% independent.

We all wish you happy farming and are interested to know what strategies you have discovered to make your farm a success as an independent farmer.

I do recall Midori having trouble last year finding lettuce. Thank you MiniGardener for sharing the above excellent advice to prevent shortages which I will now adopt since I had no tomatoes recently. Luckily, some of my hoodmates came to my rescue or I might have to use diamonds as a last resort.

Are there any reasons to not join a neighborhood? If it could be played offline, who knows, but it isnt so... OP is obviously a veteran, so, are there pitfalls i could avoid (by not teaming up)?

Some people have anxiety issues, some have encountered too much drama in hoods.

i personally resisted joining chat and a neighbourhood for several months after that feature was added... Fear of the unknown for me.
