Hi all,
Is anyone getting any take over 320 points this derby? Completely cleared board 3 times apart from 2 tasks and yet to have anything above 320 and only 2 320 tasks?
Same here
I think it's going to be a failure, because when i entered the derby i was missing 6 days and another of my group 0 task of 9... then change well but do not enter those specials or.
We have not had any harvested themed tasks at all so far.
Nothing here either:saywhat:
I haven't been paying attention, sorry. I have just been trashing anything that's not 400 - everything so far! I have had crop tasks though and I think one might have been over 320. I'll pay more attention & let you know.
2x 328 potatoes
1x 354 lettuce
Trashed in hope of getting 10x400 throughout the week. (Play solo)
No 400 tasks so far, but we got some above 320. I guess we're all used to special tasks coming up a lot more often during theme derbies. It seems they've tweaked it.
Out of 3 full boards we have not had a single task over 320 yet!
Never mind, we seem to be getting a couple now after a few more board clears
Same with us. We have now trashed 153 tasks with one 400 point tasks available.
I got one on my opening board - cotton
We've had some special tasks over 320; two of them are 400:
-Tomato/potato/corn
-Cotton
In the first round of picks on derby launch we had 2 cotton tasks - 320-350 range. On the 2nd clearing, I got a basket tasks for 400 to harvest tomatoes, corn, and potatoes.
We have a 400 indigo, and another high indigo as well.
316 wheat is the best I've seen all day.
One 354 point lettuce and one 354 potato task. So we are getting them, but possibly less prevalent than they're meant to be?
Did someone say there is a limit on the board or in the hood at a single time? If so, we have two 320+ indigo and one sugar cane right now, so I doubt we are going to see much anything else until those get completed.
4x400 cornucopia task
1x 380 sugarcane task
1x 381 indigo task
1x 360 potato task
1x 340 lettuce task
On my board.
I will try to keep track of known tasks. But, this will give you an idea of how much time (no breaks) it would require to complete the tasks. As more data becomes available, I might be able to interpolate all Harvest tasks to 400.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
since this morning we refreshed the board every 30min, not a single task above 320 :')
I finished 380pt sugarcane task just in time, few minutes before maintenance 🙃
We had just one 400 task (lettuce) from the get go, and its still sitting there. Weird: zero fishing tasks so far. I love fishing, so am mildly annoyed..
I think this derby is a gamble,
do you do only 400 point tasks and risk not getting enough to complete the derby?,
do you take lesser tasks and end up with more points?
This is very much in the sport of a game, you'll have to use strategy to win and trying to smash the opposition with diamonds just might not pay off.
We have our first 400 point task going. Several tasks over 320, but not sweating it. Just do the derby the way you want. I am finding plenty over 300 points which are fine with me:smirk:
We are getting more than usual less than 300 pts, on the other hand, we got 6 400 pts tasks, with a glitch, all of them are harvesting potatoes, tomatoes and corn. We even deleted the last one that came along as all the runners are up to their eyeballs in those crops. I wonder what is wrong about the "randomness of it)
After maintenance we didn't get any task over 320 points. I will keep all 320 pt task on my board, we have 2x320 help task, 2x320 townies task to do.
I had a 329 one they wanted 125 potato 215 corn and 130 tomato
Seriously, what is wrong???, nine potatoes, to,atoes and corn 400 hundred pts and many variations of that in less points!! Apart from 2 minor indigos and 2 minor sugarcanes, that is all we have!!!
I am in my mid-40's level-wise, and am inferior to some say, lvl 100+ farm with many more fields. So, i am less effective in harvest tasks. I will pick a minor task instead to risk blowing a higher one. At derby start, there is not always enough choice of tasks. Sometimes even a bunch of points is enough to push the hood "over the hump".
Our lower levels members have made a habit of opting out of these special derbies. They either don't have the machines needed for items or don't have the number of fields available to where they can do these more challenging tasks. Yet, they don't want to lower our score by choosing the sub 320 tasks. It really is a shame, the quantity needed to do these harvest tasks should be relative to farm level.
How can we finish the derby. If we still getting. The same task over and over with 400 points
151 tomato 155 potatos and 251 corn.
We do one of this task a day or more, how we will finish the derby off 10 task???
It won't be easy to do these 400 point basket tasks... These are the hours (assuming crops get planted as soon crops are ready to be harvested) I calculated. If you have less than 100 fields, I probably wouldn't try more than a couple of these 400 point basket tasks during the derby because there is no way you would ever be able to get 9 (let alone 10) completed.
Time to Complete (50 fields) 29.9 Time to Complete (100 fields) 15.0 Time to Complete (150 fields) 10.0
If you have around 100 fields, you won't even be able to do this task 10x (without crop boosts). Even with impeccable timing, 10 of these tasks would take 6.25 days, which is more time than a derby allows.
thanks SPartan1 for the timing calculation.
We actually talk in my NH too decide if we can boycott this kind of Derby . And not playing it anymore. Even this may cost the championship.
We accualy finish normal derby in 3 days max, now even 5 days and its not enough.
Just 2 people have around 100 fields the others arround 70's 90's. This impossible.
Hop hay day start thinking about this , "should be relative to farm level" like you sad.
What about deleting the higher, stressful tasks and just go with what you normally do?
This is true but we are talking about the principle of the derby that turns on the compitition between neighborhood. Why we create a derby which gives more advantage to the strong NH and Weaken the weak one.
My helper farm has no chance in this derby...not enough fields to do the big pointers. I'm just doing 300 to 320 non harvest and hoping to finish top 12. At least I'll get a few horseshoe prizes.
I got one on my opening board - cotton :)
I get 400 tasks but they are all the same. Each of them. No matter how often I delete them, the same 400 task appears again. Annoying. Won't end this derby. No fun at all.
Gosh...so much frustration with this and the other themed derbies. Seems like most of the frustration is self-imposed. Get out of the mind-set of only doing max point tasks. It's just one derby, you can go back to the simple 320-only next derby. Themed derbies take a different strategy. SC lets everyone know which tasks will be higher points before the derby starts. It's not a surprise. We also all know how long crops take to grow and items to be produced. Seems like simple maths to me to be able to determine how many long crops I can do, etc.
No it's not a surprise but when the game doesnt work proper it is!
We know about strategy and can do the math too lol.
But when they say we get a themed derby with also 400 point tasks and not 1 shows up people get frustrated yes.
They fixed it but it still doesnt work for everyone so its not fair to the ones who trying their best and nothing shows up.
People who are competitive and love the derby.
Most of the frustration is coming from human beings. Personally, I would not turn to be a harvesting robot, a fishing robot, a juice presser robot, etc. even for a week, if SC thinks that will bring me out of my comfort zone being a memorable and highly rewarded derby challenge compared to 'normal weeks'. I need my freedom to be able to choose a tasks fitting my abilities for the time I spend on playing this game. I cannot be hooked easily, ok.
And, I think many of us trying to find a strategy to be the best in the discipline called derby. I would not mind skipping the process of finding a strategy for how to be the least worst in this blind race, as it is now. Best and least worst are not quite the same in my book.
Being a stubborn and dedicated HD player I still need to be positive and wish you all
Happy farming
:) I was meaning all the frustration for ANY of the themed derbies. Not the glitch with this specific one. After the strawberry blow-up, you had to wonder about people and maths. There were a lot of complaints of 'i didn't get all my tasks done because my strawberry tasks took too long'.
I suppose I shouldn't have ranted about the ranting. LOL... After catching up on the forum after a few days away, between this sub-section and the derby/neighbourhood section, I guess all the complaining got to me & I had to complain too. I am one of the few who likes a theme derby, it breaks up the monotony of the regulars. So back to me happy farming and others back to their venting. Peace out!
Not only have the higher tasks dried up the daily dirt has an overwhelming supply of the same repeated crops for sale. Didn't SC learn from the last derby fiasco with strawberries??
I don't blame SC for this. I actually blame the players. I think this issue actually adds a fun aspect to the game. Like any commodity market, supply vs demand! As the supply goes up and the demand goes down, the sellers have to adjust their prices instead of always anticipating everything will sell at max value. At the start of the derby, there was still high demand and low supplies and you could offload the potatoes, sugar cane, and indigo at full price. But as the derby continued and more players took on these tasks increasing supply, the time it took to offload crops at max value began to take longer.
The fortunate thing is SC offers a dumping ground for these in terms of farm visitors. Since the farm visitors seem to be offering roughly 2x the default value of the crop, it might be better to offload crops there vs trying to push more of them into a high-supply, low-demand marketplace. Personally, I scoop up the lower priced goods and turn them into profit by selling to the visitors. So, I like it :)
Yeah! I think a lot of people assumed that they could do 10 of the high point tasks without any issues. I like them because it adds more strategy than "just do 10 x 320 point tasks" like a normal derby. Need to plan and try to choose the best task available for your current situation. I am reminding my team that we are about halfway through the derby, if they don't have about half of their tasks done, they need to check their strategy and adapt.
This was not my favorite one either. Out of our rather large NH only three opted in. Two of us usually finish in two days and our third has to spread hers out because of work commitments. Mine took a bit longer because this Tuesday like many was a hospital day for me.
We saw over 320 tasks from the get go, and I took about half 320 and the other half were 320-400. I only noticed one 400 pointer and that was the one that wanted corn, potatoes and tomatoes. We had four of them on the board at one time. That was the longest task I've done in a while, but I prepped for it by planting 140 fields of tomatoes over night and while I was working on a smoothie task and a mining one. So I was able to do it in about eight hours from the minute I took the task. That was about the only way to do one of those monsters. I think the other two people took two of those but the rest were other harvest tasks like the lettuce, etc. This was definitely not a derby that could see a maximum score for everyone. But at least we were all in the same boat. I did ten tasks but I don't think we needed to, since our competition was way behind us as of this morning, but that might change. It wasn't great but at least I didn't have to fish this week :)
You are right on that one, of course. It is what we do, except if someone really wants that particular task. I am very lucky, found a small-ish neighborhood with mainly mature people (one is 56, retired). They/we dont care about the ladder, just to get all the shoes and stay in the champion league. Often we end up 2nd or 3rd which is nice, but not mandatory. I can understand how infuriating it must be for competitive hoods. These things shouldnt happen.
This isn't going to change because it's part of the game, totally player induced, and is temporary. One of our very first events was a carrot event. I think the price was doubled or something odd. Of course the paper was full of carrots. Before that it was eggs and bacon and eggs. For a while there it was wheat because that was the best and practically only way to get expansion materials until we got pets. Some folks wanted SC to make wheating illegal. Right! When the hot dog machine came out, it was tofu dogs because everyone was trying to master that machine and that was the easiest way. With the coffee machine it was raspberry mocha. When was the last time you saw that.
I have long since stopped using the paper to play except to find folks to help and there are some who refuse that to avoid getting on strangers last help list. The paper is always going to be affected by other parts of the game. It is always temporary. It forces us to think of new ways to be creative, is annoying but short lived.
I just got my 6th cornucopia task - the combo of the tomatoes, potatos, and corn. I've done 2, and I have 4 more on the board. I'm selling tomatoes 10 for 1 coin just to have enough room in the silo. It's ridiculous but they're the only 400 point tasks I've gotten. A little more variety sure would be nice!
The harvest derby is only a part of the game. If you don't like it, then know next time to opt out. No need for complaining. I don't play derby and I am still loving the game.
No need for complaining? Really? Cause just about everyone complains about something on this forum. I love doing the derby. It's the only reason I play anymore. And I don't mind harvest tasks. But 6 of the exact same thing? I think I have a legitimate reason to request a little variety!
Patches, I'm not making a reference to you. I'm voicing an opinion of mine after seeing all the negativity about the Harvest Derby on Facebook and here on the forums. My hood and I enjoy the game without the stress of the Derby. We help, respect, and chat with each other and that is more important than winning a "trophy."
