I don't see how adding this will help the game at all. You think because SC mentions a country's holidays that more people will play? That doesn't even make sense. What would happen is every country's holiday that was not included would become a subject of debate here and through in game support. I'm all for small Qol changes but this would be a waste of time and an annoyance to many players.

I don't need clash of clans to let me know that it's Christmas. I'm well aware of it. And one of the last things I want to see, as a frequenter of IFR, is the beginning of "Why doesn't Clash mention X holiday for Y country?"
-
And what about a daily greeting/wishes from Clash?

The resource of world holidays already exists.
See http://www.officeholidays.com/
Today 17 August 2017 is
http://www.officeholidays.com/images...flag_india.png India (regional): Parsi New Year
http://www.officeholidays.com/images..._indonesia.png Indonesia: Independence Day
Even if ignoring non-National Holidays (i.e. just look at the blue ones), nearly every day is a National Holiday somewhere, and some days have several.

True. We can definately ignore the regional ones but atleast not an Independence Day.
And moreover idea is to send out some thoughta/quotes/wishes at the start of the game once not necessarily telling them about holidays.
