Please introduce a calendar which sends out some wishes to all the players on important occasions or festivals. Maintaining a single country calendar wouldn't suffice the purpose.
Any way in which a player receives a greeting from COC may help attracting senior members of the society as well and keeps them engaged along with a positive charm.

The country like india. Will have different kind of festivals. And also which also changes every year..
Not talking specific to India or any festival but first daily login greetings would also serve the purpose.

What Aman Sin Has Added on his Comment is Well Consideded because There are Total of 200+ countries and Each country has On an average has 15 Festivals. Assuming that Each day Will be Two Events At least in the Whole 365 days.
Okay, Ignoring Small Festivals And Events that Are not Much Recognisable Can Be Ignored in the global Calendar of Events/festivals you wish in clash of clans Community.
One of The Most Recognise Event, Christmas and New Year (western Calendar) is Always Celebrated by clash so No need to Do Something with it.
Next is Halloween, at the Time of Halloween, Indian Festival Diwali Makes his huge Diversity of Celebration among Different countries because It's mostly Recognised in Lots of countries. So it should be added In the Calendar(considering)
Few Similar examples are Easter(Festival in Christians),
Famous Independence days of several Countries. Eid Festivals (in Muslim Community) can Be added In the Global Calendar to celebrate and make a Good feel In clash. This will ensure Events manager do not have To take Stress In collecting & organising any Of these events/festivals Each year.:)
Other Players Please Suggest more Festival Examples and Feel free To correct me If I'm not right anywhere in my message. Because I don't have much knowledge on Festivals and Events.

A Calendar similar to Google Doodle calendar is not hard to maintain. Have implemented the same across various Software projects.
No offence but COC members would definitely appreciate an addition in any scenario.
