I think I'm behind. I started playing HD again a month or so ago and I've recently joined forums but I'm confused; what are puzzle boats? I saw some people talking about them and I have no clue what they are talking about! Can anyone explain? Thank you.
Hello. In town you will have a Sanctuary. In that Sanctuary you have animals, and to get these animals you need puzzle pieces. You can only get puzzle pieces a few ways, and one of those ways is to complete boats. However only certain boats will give you a puzzle piece. This is a puzzle boat.

Continuing on from Bl4ckn1ght... it's worth mentioning that you can tell if you have a puzzle boat coming or in port by the puzzle piece showing on the side wall of your boat dock...
And, you only get two puzzle boats per week. If you send a puzzle boat away without filling it then you lose a puzzle boat for that week. Puzzle pieces can also be found in chests and in the derby rewards.Quote:

I don't know what lvl the sanctuary opens at but I do know that you cannot access it unless you have opened a plot of land on the far right of your town. Once you open that land and the sanctuary then you will start getting the boats.

I have 2 pieces for my 2nd animal - do you only get piece for one animal at a time or will I start to see giraffe, hippo, elephant, etc all building slowly at the same time? Also, do you need to be in the higher Derby leagues to get the pieces offered?? Finally, what do you get when a town visitor wants to see the zoo? So many questions...
The pieces seem to go predominantly to one animal, which we refer to as our "next" animal. My next one has 30/36 and the next one after that has 9/36.Quote:

edit. We had a 24 hour puzzle boat event... It was a hoot and many pieces were available if you called boats early and had many friends.

To add to what has already been said...no, you don't need to be in higher leagues to get the PP in the Derby, but you need to be in a big enough NH to get the correct column. There's 1 in column 4 (Boosters in 5) and I *think* 7 is the other PP column & 8 the other boster column. But playing solo I only get 4 columns.Quote:

I have 4/36 for grey hippo and 18/36 for beige giraffe. So I guess the beige giraffe might be my next animal. I started off with the given brown elephant, that I named "Chocolate."
I had to send away several puzzle piece boats, because it was requesting mostly hot dogs, and I don't have a hot dog stand, don't have a taco kitchen, don't have the tea stand, and don't have the (I forgot the last one), but its on the machine maker tab. The last four machines I don't have. I definitely have the coins for them, but I haven't gotten them.
So anyway, I have sent a lot of puzzle boats away. And since I can't feed my cows anymore, cuz I don't have soybean to make the feed, I dont have the milk ingredient. Same goes for the pigs (bacon) and the sheep (wool). :mad:
Which has also affected derby, I can't finish tasks. :mad: since I can't make ice cream, cuz no cream or milk; can't make one of those lobster skewers or grilled onion, cuz it calls for butter, which needs milk. Aaaaack
