War algorithm

I know in general that the war algorithm is complicated and Not easy to Fix. But I see one really big problem with it that is helping engineering clans win wars. I've noticed that heroes not placed down in the war base but are present in the home base don't affect weight. For example, if I'm engineering with a mini-max th 7.11, and I only have my king in the war base yet I have 45/45/20 heroes, the queen and warden won't boost your weight. This incentivizes war clans to engineer because heroes at home don't even affect war weight. This change is the least SC could do to start fixing the war algorithm so that it can't be abused so much.

i saw on one of their collaborator's youtube channel that they are preparing an update that will adress several war algorithm issues. so let's be patient and keep our fingers crossed.

How do you know the non-placed heroes don't affect weight? What is your evidence?

I know for a fact that non-placed defenses DO affect weight. I was in a war where one higher TH9 war base had less defenses than other TH9s near him on the map. I looked at his home village, and sure enough he had all the TH9 defenses including L3 xbows, but simply hadn't placed them on his war base.

Th 11 engineer is ranked lower than a th 7 even though he has 20/21/20 heroes but only has his 20 bk. and he has some defenses. Also one of my friends has a clan that abuses this, they have th 8.5's ranked lower than th8's because they have one defense that is lower even though the 8.5 have AQ. I am pretty sure this is true.

I need a coc rep to look at the match up my clan (-GOML-) just got stuck with. Today's date 8/10/17. This is hogwash. Half a mind to say its pure malarkey. These type shinanagins are the reason we are a lvl 8 clan with a losing war record. SMH
