I don't remember them saying anything about O. They just said, all that people care about is the D they are facing.
i do believe they did it to get people to move up & out of perma max, but they didn't foresee the consequences, while the peeps here did.
All our 10s quit when the nerfed bowlers & healers. Some had gone to Th10 just because it became attractive, others had been 10s a while & didn't want to go back to the 2 star game. One was a QWer & the healer nerf/cannon buff ruined his attack & fun. When they nerfed .5, another whole set quit. So, from my perspective all that they've done has been more negative than positive. If they wanted more 10s & 11s to push, that didn't happen in my clan.
Also the state of Th10 right now, it can be argued that it's being done to get more to go to 11, since it's more attractive, but most peeps in our clan aren't gonna spread a year hating the game so they can be an 11. I've seen more quit than I have seen them go to 11.
Who knows how many have quit the game due to being rolled by engineers.
But I will agree that the most easily manipulated is the war crowd. They will do what is best for the team. If that's going .5 or getting a mini - or 20 minis, they'll do it. But since their failures are in front of a group, rather than alone pushing, they are quicker to leave the game too, IMO.

Engineering used to be about creating bases to fool the mm. For the last year it was practically impossible not to. It will go back to being more tricky, less obtuse. But with Th11 troops available & many, many more aware of the strat, will be stronger & more effective than in the past.

Not to get too far off point, but I find the claim that the forums automatically aren't representative of the population to be highly dubious.

The forums are most certainly an indicator. How much it applies to the population is up for debate, but I've seen no credible evidence to support this idea that the forums do not represent the population. People continue to make this extremely strange claim in regards to a % of the population, how small it is, then claim it must not be representative simply by that fact alone. That isn't statistically sound, like at all.

I'm certainly not making the argument that the forum does represent the population, I'm simply challenging those that automatically say it doesn't. While no sample has been taking from the forum, it also isn't like the forum participants automatically throw any distribution curve into kurtosis or positive/negative skewness.

I agree the 1000s of forum users are a sample and even a representative sample, but not of the average clash player. The average forum user is more serious about the game than the average player.

2222 has it right. How many forum participants are truly premmie, rushed with little clue. 1-2% . I would guess that the in game number is closer to 50%. No true hard data, but look at your last 10 attacks at anything below 3,200 trophies. Compare, walls, heroes, offense to defense.

A lot of people here sit higher in trophies, more serious, less rushed bases.

This may be true but I have some doubts. Almost any time feedback is wanted from the public, polls are done. Now in my country of 350million or so, the sample sizes might reach 5 figures, usually way less. If that small a sample works for polling why would this sample not be a general representation of the community as a whole. I would bet the forums is a somewhat accurate representation. Not perfect by any means but close.

I still don't think I agree with this. English only is not a major hurtle imo, vast amounts of people from all over the world speak english. Now as to if formers are die hards or more casual. I'd bet only a percent of formers are super serious. In my short time I've seen plenty of formers come n go with only mabey 10% regular everyday users. I'd bet a lot that only pass thru forums are casual about the game aswell. With all that I'm convinced the forum hears from all kinds and thus is a qualifying sample.

Um just look above. Plenty of reasons its nonrepresentative. If you think proof is possible, how about you prove otherwise.
