I didn't want to hijack a thread so I started a new one, hoping for some input.


I thought I did really well making 700 k, I guess I could have made more if I didn't keep higher quantities of dairy and sugar products. Maybe if I didn't bother with the boats, as well, but I need vouchers for my last 2 horses.


I didn't buy any b&e, I went for red berry cakes and bacon pies, made a profit of 114 and 100 for each one sold, respectively. It was a bit harder keeping up with the pies. I didn't have much going on this weekend so I just browsed through more farms. I also wheated a lot, upgraded my silo twice and barn once, that probably also hindered my barn space as well.


Didn't bother with strawberries. Compared to max price in the rss, it would only make 3 coins for each one, and wheat was making about 2, I didn't check exactly. I just wanted to keep corn and wheat as my number 2 and number 1.


Another thing I did was more of an anticipation of this event. Last week, I planted some extra cocoa trees so that they would each produce 4 beans, then be revived and harvested again on saturday/Sunday for maximum profits.


Did anybody else have some methods that worked out for them?

We made 980K in the visitor event

If you look at the totals you lose money on corn, so we used soybeans and our #2 crop

We also used Red berry cakes and pies :)

Obviously I didn't take full advantage of the event or don't know how. I only make about 250k. What did you sell to make so much?

So the strategy was to shop around and buy as many of the targeted items as you could, and then resell to the visitors?

I was glad to see this event come back, so that I could try a new strategy that seemed to work pretty well for me. I had three barn items that I collected and tried to maintain as my top three - b&e, red berry cakes and blue sweaters. Last time, when I only used two, it would never fail that before I had time to build back up my #2, a visitor would come along to buy something that I did not want to sell.

I didn't really have a #2 crop, so I'll be interested in trying soybeans next time.

Were you guys mostly ignoring boats and truck orders during the even to focus on generating more cash? Or just any orders that called for those items (or items that would cause competition, like white sweaters, for example)?

I still did my boat orders, as I am in need of vouchers for pets. I didn't concentrate on truck orders hardly at all, which was a bit of a relief, as that is usually how I play the game. It was nice to get different focus.

i couldnt possibly hoard alot of b&e and berry cakes to outnumber my sugars so i didnt bother with barn stuff. instead i experimented with crops.

I dont like visitors, period. (my achievement is atm 542/2500 so you can imagine) but i been trying to experiment a little with the prices they offer after another player were asking me about forecasting prices on the event.

low price crops sucks, tomato, potato and as mentioned, strawberries does not yield much profit. I instead made bank with the berries, cherries and cacao. when the event comes around again, i am going to have a full field of blackberries and cacao. I do calculate them by stacks x max price instead of individual prices. so for example 20+ blackberries can fetch high 4ks and cacao can fetch over 6k. i think that is pretty decent. if i ever whittle down my sugars, i might try playing around with the barn items, but that is almost nigh impossible.

It's both what you sell and how many you sell. You want somewhat expensive things that you can make big stacks of quickly, and you want to do your best so that they ask for those stacks every time. In the silo it's picked crops that get the highest return (apples, cherries, berries, etc), but the silo isn't your money maker. I sat out this event because I just didn't feel like doing it but last time I hit 1.2 million with bacon and eggs, blackberry muffin, red berry cake, blue sweater, and bacon pie (I probably could have skipped bacon pie, it isn't as easy to find as the others). Bacon and eggs worked particularly well since I was able to stack them twice as fast as other items.

Stockpile as many of those items as you can; since the customers ask for the two items you have the most of, it is ideal to have over 100 of the top two items if possible since the more they buy, the more you make. Then if they clean out your top two items, hopefully you'll have two more close to the top and you'll be ready to go the next time they show up. That's why I like stacking at least four items -- if they clean out two of them, it won't be too hard to have the next two ready to go. You want as many times as possible to have something you want to give them when they ask for something in your barn as obviously the more times you turn them away, the less money you'll make. (With that in mind, it's also important to have one of everything so they don't ask for those things)

It's also true I think that the more barn space you have, the more money you'll make. I had enough room to have stacks of over 100 of each of those things I mentioned all at once. But if you can't stack that high, you won't make as much.

It also just takes quite a bit of work to make that much money. Yeah I made over 1 million last time, but I sat on my butt and played Hay Day almost all of the weekend to do it. By the time the last day rolled around, I got so tired of it that I wound up quitting early. I didn't feel up to doing it this time.

I still play as usual (boat, truck, wheating....), hoarding a bit more chili popcorn as B&E are so hard to find and barn almost full. Also selling bread to them.

I enjoy making and selling bacon & egg though B). High income in no time.
