So, think Clash of Clans can get a little boring sometimes?
Well, here's some new ideas to keep the game fresh.
A new way of getting gold and elixir- Trading in.
Now, this isn't the "omg that's too overpowered" type of thing.
Say you need more elixir and you have 1.5 mil gold laying around. You can trade in 1.5 mil for 1 mil elixir.
You trade in a specified amount (1/10 ,1/5 ,1/2 ,all) And you get 2/3 of the other type back. (1.5mil gold = 1mil elixir)
This is very helpful and not too overpowered, and can't be abused because you run out of resources soon enough. You can't use it to hide elixir, as you lose 1/3 of the amount you trade in (A way to abuse trading 1.5mil for 1.5mil is hiding a certain amount to get attacked less)
Speaking of "money", a new type of currency to keep the game going. This type will be unlocked at TH8. Rubes.
It is collected in a "Rube tunnel", and is a tad bit harder to obtain than Dark Elixir, and cannot be stolen. It is stored in a safe, and it's use it to slightly enhance defensive buildings for 12 hours - 1 day, and is pretty expensive. And you get a 2-3 day cooldown on each building every time it is used. It is more expensive than gems, (According to amounts)
Say, it costs 50 rubes to boost cannon hitpoints / DPS by 5-10 for 12-24 hours.
This can be gemmed to speed up cooldown time, but costs a lot of gems. So hopefully it isn't too overpowered, and only heavy gemmers can "abuse" it in any way.
A suggestion here is to make the amount of gems higher every time it is gemmed, it is upped by about 1/2 that amount added to it, so it gets slightly bigger per boost. Eventually not even gemmers can afford the enhanced defensive buildings.
Storages cost 750,000 gold to build, and take 2 days to build.
Storage capacity is 750, and you can have 2 storages maximum
Tunnels take 900,000 to build, and also take 2 days.
You can only have one tunnel, and they can hold 100 rubes. Any production after that will be stopped and will continue after rubes are collected.
Now, we may have to work out different DPS / HP boost for different buildings.
The Rube tunnels get about 2 rubes per hour, by the way. At level 2 they get 3, and it costs gems to upgrade ;)
We also need a new type of barracks / army camp, called the thieves.
This might sound overpowered but you can only use one army camp per attack, so you can use thieves only in one attack and regular troops in another.
Thieves are payed in gold (Duh, they want money!)
This means goblins would be moved there.
What would replace them in regular barracks?
Here comes my new troops idea- The Tanker. What he does is he has a huge amount of hitpoints (3-4k), but has terribly low DPS. 1 DPS. You have to be strategic with the placement so he doesn't move off and get wasted. He targets defenses, so giants + tankers would be a nice combination. He also moves very, VERY slow. His speed might be like 6-10. He costs 15000 to train, takes up 25 space, and takes 25 minutes to train.
More troop ideas here- Some thieves.
Bank robber-
Pretty average. Slower than a goblins(Speed 25), goes for gold primariy, and has 16 DPS, 36 hitpoints, costs 75 elixir to train, while taking 45 secs to train.
