I think Lach said fairly recently that there are no plans to address this. I'll see if I can find the post.
Since there are lots of people who like to gather Clash stats, an interesting one would be if there is a growth in the number of legend players. The growth in the number of legend players may or may not be an indication of their happiness with being a legend level player but rather an indication of dislike of lower levels or just trying something new.
Further, the growth in legend level players will not solve the cloud waiting time but would seem to make it worse in my opinion.
Simply, here is why, I believe, but could be wrong. Since I can always attack (or search) for longer periods than I am eligible to be attacked, the more people I add in this situation, the worse the situation will get. If this is true and SC sees more people reaching legend level, the problem will only get worse, not better, without a change.
How would you fix clouding?
Reduce time on guard. Reduce time between personal breaks. Reduce time on shield. Any of those fixes will hack off most of the cloud players, too.
Less cloud times i think would ruin Legends, half the battle of Legends is the clouds, I hate personally dealing with them but honestly Legends is the highest league going, so the challenges should be there , I was at 5800 trophies last season and I waited over 4 hours for a base, why? Because I challenged myself to get to 6000, in the end the clouds won the battle and I couldnt handle it anymore and gave up...... But I honestly had a fun time challenging myself
If you just remove the clouds or the wait, the best way to do it is change the shield system, guards , etc etc, which wouldnt be fair
Legend players are not dumb and I am sure they all maange their shields the same way I do and get the best value and then possibly buy a 1 or 2 day shield to push.
If you stick in the low end of Legends, the wait honestly isnt bad, I waited 30-45 minutes max, I only need 1 more archer tower and im maxed so resources arent a big deal
I honestly think people blow the cloud situation way out of proportion and don't understand there reason there is clouds is because everyone is shielded, guarded or NOT attacking, if you really want changes, you need to change the players and the shields, guards etc, it has nothing to do with matchmking, it has to do with 2k-3k of players hiding behind shields
Only logical method to reduce cloud is player vs player

That's why I just took a shot on Legend League, tried how far can I go while patiently dealing with clouds and ended one season. After that, I dropped trophies to a playable league.
Those top players even not in the leader board who makes raid/attack almost 300-400 plus per season (wonder how they can do it despite of clouding) were eating much our daily bread(bases available for us)... When we get to Legend league, the trophy system needs a new approach. Instead of matching us up with players of the same trophy level, we should simply be matched with players whose bases are of the same weight.
When Legend league players are able to attack those in lower leagues, two things will happen... The clouds will vanish, and the higher level players will have more reason to push out of those leagues in which they don't belong.
How long it takes for people to realize there is no fix for clouds??? im tired of seeing these complains over n over again....
the only way to address this is to have more bases available to hit... its already clear that SC is not going to add dummy computer made bases so the only possible way is to reduce shield times and get rid of guard... there shouldnt be any guard for legend players, guard was introduced in the game to help with farming after TH sniping was removed...
As I said in my other thread, the only way to save the high level gameplay both in wars and trophy is to push the game from defensive-focused to offensive-focused.... why there is cloud? because everyone is hiding behind their shields and guards....people are relying too much on defenses...that needs to stop....this game is for players to attack not relay on defense done by computer...
without guard and shorter shields people will have many more bases to hit and to compensate for lost trophies, they need to ATTACK more and more instead of hiding...
The current game relies only on attack. The protection of shields and guards makes defense means nothing. People aren't hiding - they are searching. It is supply and demand. Everyone is trying to get 5-6 attacks in for every defense, but because it takes 6 hours to find some matches people are stuck behind shields. Legends needs alternating shield times. Legend Shield would give a day off, and then a series of short shields. In my time up there, I had to manage my base so hard, and it definitely took away from my time in real life.
Legend Shield=One day off, a well deserved break for getting there.
Series of Short Shields=More bases available for attack, but faster search time and more frequent attacks...easier to mitigate trophy loss.

I'm not really sure what you're expecting me to say on this apart from what's already been said. I know it sounds like a broken record but it is something the team is looking into and has been.
Reducing shield times may not necessarily be the right answer. Having shorter shield times means players will just hop online more often or for longer stretches of time to avoid being attacked while trying to find more bases to attack. And that is the underlying issue - it requires people to be offline with no shields. When there is a high number of people online trying to find a base to attack then it leaves not enough bases to attack.
Removing shields altogether for that league might look like a solution but would have similar consequences.
Going H2H is an option we're possibly looking at as it proved it could work as it does on the Builder Base. It takes advantage of the number of people online instead of the number of people offline. Given that we just implemented the H2H system, we do need to collect more data on if it's a viable solution first and try and predict how many people it will impact, and how it will impact the end-game leagues.
Yes there are solutions out there. Each one of them has pros and cons; some with more cons than pros, but some are potentially viable. The goal is to find the one that has the least number of negative consequences for the players. The idea people spend more gems while clouding is a silly one. We would prefer if players were able to enjoy the game when they want and not have to wait in a virtual cloud-queue to do so.
If you're looking for me to say "we have a solution planned for X date" then I don't have that answer for you yet.

The real problem imho is that it is to easy to get a one star victory as a maxed TH11. The only limitation that people have with pushing is the time limitation. Well, then you have what you have now. Your high value troops mean nothing because you only need a one star on a TH11 and everybody that has the same troops as you have can do that with their eyes closed. The only way you can cup is by staying online as long as possible, buy all the shields that you can get and sleep next to your tablet waiting for the sound of a next village. It has nothing to do any longer with skill but only with the amount of time and dedication to play as long as you possible can. Even when you are 100% devoted there is a fair chance that you will lose from people who share a tablet or an account.Quote:

Legends is a special league with special rules remember? So each win has a fixed amount of cups assigned to (let's say 30 for a three star?), same for a loss (let's say 10 cups?). It seems they are afraid of the impact it can cause on players... well, taking out TH sniping was a shaper move which affected all players. Some problems emerged, but SC took care of them. Implementing PvP in legends will affect much less players. And the majority of them are already dissatisfied because of the clouds.

I understand what you mean. I am now two seasons is legend. During the first season I dumped cups when I noticed that it took longer to find a base then to cook up an army. The second season my clanbuddy started to cup and I decided not to dump any cups anymore and see if I could stay with him. My buddy is better in this game then me in general. Still, at the end of the season I was higher then him. The reason was that he went on holliday halfway during the season and I was staying at home. So the only reason I ended up higher then him was because I spend more time playing the game and not because my skills were better.Quote:

Yeah I get what you're saying. But still, I can't see them changing anything that we've all worked so hard to get. Again, I go back to saying that you can be the best attacker CoC has ever seen and if you try to attack a max 11 with TH8 troop DPS, you don't stand a chance. Yes it is in the BH village but I don't understand why collecting data from that base helps you decide whether to implement on the main base.
Just implement h2h from a certain trophy count - I'd say 5500 as that is when players start getting serious cloud issues.
If it turns positive - perhaps reduce it to a different trophy count......
Making legends attacks open to th11 (or same weight, whatever) even if not in legends would make legends unplayable for me. To those who think currently it is all about who stays online the most, well that system would be all about who literally plays the most. As opposed to my phone searching just now while I was moving the lawn, it would require not mowing my lawn and instead spending those hours attacking. I do sometimes ask my wife to drive so I can keep my search going and I only get a slight eye roll from her. I think if I asked her to mow the lawn so I can do a boosted legends raiding session I would soon not be playing clash :) To those who think currently people spend gems to stay at the top, well that system would definitely have players at the top willing to boost a lot for 100s of attacks over and over.
