I don't know about the money, but lure and net production slots are really expensive. But the game will give you plenty of diamonds, eventually they do add up. Just save them!
I have all 9 spots opened up on both machines and I've spent maybe $30-$40 total on this game in the past 3 1/2 years.
Patience and saving will win the day!

The production slots on the net and lure maker have always been very expensive. It's worth noting that, once you have them, you never have to provide "ingredients" in the way that you do with other machines; you can make nets and lures to your heart's content, free of charge.
I appreciate that there can be a "cost" involved if the farmer chooses to make coloured lures by using vouchers, but that is a matter of choice.
I have all 9 slots open on both machines, and it helps me because of my style of play. I have long periods when I am at work and cannot farm, so I load up the lure and net maker, and return home to a good stock.
Of course, other playing styles would work perfectly well with fewer slots. As with all things Hay Day, there are many different ways to play.
I have four slots open on each one. I've always though they were ridiculously expensive. As long as I come back every so often I really have no need for more than four. I doubt I will ever feel that I need the nine slots or that its worth paying that many diamonds for.

I will work on getting the lure one first since I run out of lures all the time.
i am level 117 so Monday will have all the farm animals, thanks to 2 gold vouchers in derby. I wanted to work on fishing next.

4 slots on the lure maker and 5 on the net maker is plenty for me. Unless you really want to go crazy during the fishing events, 4 or 5 should be enough for most players.

Ok, I must be doing something wrong. I have 55 in my tackle box and never have more than 20 items in it !
Let alone stacking, heck I can't even fill it.
Should i I just leave alone my fishing area a few days to get more full on nets and lures ? How in the world did u guys fill and stack in this area. I have all spots open and several times don't even have a net or lure to use.
Of course I do a few fishing events each week in derby, maybe I need to skip those ?
