Should I purchase my second chicken coup? If so how many chickens. Im planning on one feed maker with 4 slots to be constanly running 2 cow, 2 pig. The other one with 3 slots will be running constant chicken feed.

You will have to figure this out during gameplay. If you find you're using or selling a lot of eggs, it will be worth it. If not, maybe at a later time! :)
Eggs are quite easy to buy, but if you wish to do your own, go for it.
They will ill always be there to buy at anytime
But they are pretty expensive to buy and im always pretty low on eggs so o think ill go with 3 and if i need more bump up to 6
I recently started a baby farm up to level 20. You may find some tips here

I always bought my eggs because the other animals needed the feed slots more. But if you find them too expensive i suggest you get all the chickens you can. I use well over a hundred eggs a day on my farm. I cant remember how many i used when i was starting out but i do know they are one of the most necessary animal products on the farm.
You are asking a very good question. Once you buy "production" animals, you can't "store" them, so being deliberate about how many you need is very wise.
I have 2 pens of 6 chickens, 2 pens of 5 pigs, 2 pens of 5 sheep, 2 pens of 4 goats, and all 3 pens of 5 cows.
If I had it to do over again, I would probably limit my production animals to the following:
- 2 pens of 6 chickens. I like the animation of the chickens and their pens are small. As has been noted, you can always buy eggs. I think a lot of us regularly buy eggs. It mostly has to do with whether you can manage to produce enough feed for them as well as your other animals.
- 2 pens of pigs. I originally bought just 9 because that was a multiple of the 3 feeds that the feed machine produces. When the Derby was introduced, I bought the 10th pig in order to do feed tasks. Not worth it. I wish I still had 9 pigs. The other reason to have pigs is that the dogs/puppies eat bacon. I frequently buy bacon when I see it for sale to feed my dogs. Their gifts are really important to me. No way can I imagine "needing" the 3rd pen of pigs.
- 2 pens of sheep. I like the animation of the sheep. I usually can sell extra wool even with just 2 pens. Like the pigs, I originally bought just 9. Wish I still had just 9. No possible need for the 3rd pen of sheep; it would just take up space and require more feed. (Some people hide their surplus animal pens behind trees so they don't have to look at animals in discomfort.)
- 1 pen of goats. Usually I have goat's milk to sell. It's possible I would have eventually bought the second pen, but I probably could have survived with just 6 goats. Do NOT like their animation. My goat pens are hidden.
- 3 pens of cows. You absolutely need all the cows you can get. You need all the cow dairy products you can make. Very few people wind up with surplus dairy products.
As others have said, it all depends on how you like to operate your farm. The logjam for animals, and something you will periodically see threads about is "how do I juggle production of feed for all my animals?" With the animals I have, I very rarely run out of feed. Over time, I've fully expanded all the slots (9 each) on my feed machines. However, I was able to log in often enough when I had fewer slots to keep my animals fed. Looking at hungry animals is a bummer.
Have fun! It sounds like you are doing well!
i think the chicken coupe is a good investment, it lets the chickens get around the farm and is good for morale.

Good decision :)
[EDIT. I just realised you're the newbie with loads of coins, so ignore the next paragraph, but other new players might find it helpful]
I'm level 126 now, it's a step back in time remembering how *expensive* everything was at your level. I remember thinking exactly as you are, however, there gets a point where coins are meaningless (it's just a while from where you are now, and although high level farmers could give low level farmers coins, IMO, that totally defeats playing). It will get easier, just not for a while, so in the meantime *my* advice would be level up slowly (most players agree, but not all). IMO if you can't afford things as they become available, you're levelling up too fast, and are better to avoid boats & trucks and sell everything for MAX in your RSS (roadside shop) to get coins but not XP.
I got the chicken coops, pig stys & cow pens pretty much as soon as they were available, & the animals to go in them as I could afford them, in the order I needed them, but each pretty quickly. I have max of all now & can't imagine not. A lot of it really depends on how you play and how often. I play a lot & try to keep all my machines running all the time, that takes a lot of eggs, milk & bacon! However, as Mini pointed out, you can't store them or sell them/remove them, so once you have them, you have them. Be sure you want/need them.
Sheep & goats. Wool & goats milk are usually plentiful in the paper, so I just had one pen of each to start with- just to have them really. I think I then got second pens so I could have 9 sheep & 6 goats because the feed is in 3's). Then I was in a large hood & all the feeding tasks were getting trashed as no one wanted to do them, so I bought the rest of them. Then our team changed & I didn't need them for the Derby (grrr). They take up a LOT of space and that annoyed me for a while as *I* didn't need them, however, I've put them on the new land up the end of the farm & they're fine. I don't routinely get milk & wool from them, I just keep feed for them and take wool & milk when I need it. It's very handy when there's a problem with the DD (Daily Dirt newspaper) or for when you need an odd amount for a boat etc. So although I managed without having them all for ages, I'm happy to have them now.
I think the feed mills are a good place to spend your diamonds (after the dairy & sugar machines). Feed sells well and it's good to get moving on that mastery as it takes AGES! You're doing what I do, I make pig & cow feed in one & chicken feed in the other. I throw goat & sheep feed in the chicken one overnight, or if I'm running low & am unable to play for a while. Now there's Sanctuary feed too, I toss a bundle in each one occasionally (you don't need much of it).
I love it Shady!
That's funny because it's one of my favourite ones. I wish I could go & have that done!!
I once regretted having all pens, but nowadays with plenty of room in the farm they just seem to disappear :D
Eggs will sell, Milk will sell (and you'll need it), meat will sell, only things i could do without is 1 pen of sheep and 1 pen of goat :D
Hi! If you are starting out in the game just know that eggs, milk, bacon and all dairy and sugars are a MUST to survive in the game. That means that you should aim to getting ALL the chickens, cows and pigs and their pens and open all the spots you can on dairy and sugar machines. That should be your priority. You will see that sacrifice pays well later on. ☺️
You should definatley get the chicken coop, however, I think that a feed mill contantly making chicken food is a lot, unless you plan on selling some.
Until Rose came along, I only kept 1 of each animal pen. Maintaining the animal pens was something I struggled with from the start of me playing the game. So, I relied more on the newspaper for items than my own farm. Once Rose was implemented, I bought all of the pens and keep her on the diamond paycheck to maintain them.
So, I think that is also something to consider.
I maxed out on all animals eventually, and I find it useful for completing derby tasks quickly, like collecting wool. Most of the time my goats and sheep just sit around waiting to be collected, but so what? There's plenty of room.
I also think that the goat animations are ugly, except the part where they faint like those fainting goats in real life.
I'm not 100% sure what you should do on your farm. But here is what I have. I have 2 pens each with the max amount of animals in each. I think 3 pens take up too much room. So I have two pens of each.
I have 3 sets of animals close to one feeder which mostly makes the feed for those animals. My other two animals (with two pens each) are in a different area of the farm with another feeder. It semi-works for me. Sometimes I run out of ingredients to make the feed, and all he** breaks loose. I wish we can have another feeder, esp since we have that sanctuary!
My feeders are one of the things that are constantly going (along with the lure machine and net maker in the fishing area).
Oh, and by the way, I have all my feed slots open! XD
I have 2 pens each, which means I have too much goat milk and often have to buy bacon. On the other side, I have always plenty enough feed for my critters. I suspect that it would be more difficult to produce enough feed if I had all animals.
I wouldn't want to have less chicken as they are invaluable when waking my pets.
I have all pens, pets, plots, buildings, machines, etc. I like to be a self sufficient farmer, do not have to go to DD for anything (other than the occasional wheat). That way, when DD is flooded with something I do not care, but can use it to have boat crates filled. I generally do not do boats, but have picked it up again for puzzle boats and boat events for diamonds. To be self sufficient, you need everything. All depends on your play style
Get all the pens and all animals. Feed them all up, and leave them there munching. They wont die or rot or die from boredom. You never know when you will need that last egg or piece of bacon. If not you, one of your buddies migt need it.
Likewise, the more "standby" products available to me at no cost the better. My animals are always fed ready for harvest when needed.
Also, having all the animals (18 chickens & 15 cows especially) makes the derby feed task quite easy to do. I usually do 2 of them a week.
