I fully agree with you that its all gone too far, however don't agree that game should purely on progress.

I started waaay back when game was released, and still remember the ORIGINAL post on here when wars were introduced explaining how wars would work that clearly stated "matches would be based on points assigned to your offensive and defensive capabilities" - or words to that effect.

That very statement says "hang on a sec, you have a certain amount of points on your base, spend them wisely to win" - and this is NOT a bad thing. it makes you think instead of the blind "that's new, I better build it" approach

The issue is with there not being some kind of safeguard to stop it being abused, a max/min point RANGE for any th level for example.

This improvement needs to kick in a lot sooner. As the days drag on, more frustration builds up, and probably more people will quit random spins altogether.

No I think I was expressing the key point. I was not saying anything about not updating the war matching making to provided more even matches. I was suggesting that when this happens that there will need to be additional updates made to correct the issues with ties in wars under the current setup. Frequent ties in wars will destroy clan wars as much as the bad match ups. The closer the match ups become the more frequently that you will have ties especially when you match up clans that have stronger offense than defense. Several players and clans have adapted their upgrade strategies to try and find the best fit for them as to what gives them the greatest advantages in wars.

I am not against any changes to war matchmaking process, just want to make sure that the changes that they make do not drive more players away from the game. Just like any other changes to the game, players will need to adapt their play style a bit so that the game can still be enjoyable for them.

I missed the memo on how the game was intended to be played I guess. Folks with these types of bases have just adapted their play style to the current way the game works. This type of base is for a player who probably has multiple accounts and uses the max TH11 offense in wars only. Not sure how easy it is to get a max TH11 offense with only a th5 or 6 defense since you would be getting raided constantly.

Again, I am not saying that there doesn't need to be improvements made to the war matching making and weighting. One change that probably should be made to help with bad match ups is to add significant defense war weighting to the war clan castle. We have had wars where we include lower level players and they will get slaughtered because the enemies they are facing are basically defenseless bases with a clan castle that contains 20-35 troops. A TH3 or 4 doesn't have much of a chance against even a defenseless TH7 or 8 base since they will spend a good deal of their weaker troops just taking out the enemy was castle troops if they even know how to do this. The remaining weaker troops will struggle to take out the higher level buildings with higher hit points in the time allowed for the attack. So every building added and upgrade should add probably add some defensive war weight because they all need to be taken out to get to 3 stars. This would help push the defenseless bases up in rank some so that the opponent they are matched up with would have some chance of taking them out.

They aren't fully engineered, a lot of missing offense but I thought that was an interesting lineup

Just wondering how engineeres keep their skill level up when war after war the bases they attack r sometimes 2 and 3 ths below their level? Do you find you have difficulty when your required to hit up?

Using the townhall might sound good on the face of it but in reality with the sheer time it takes to near max a th level would make wars even worse for anyone who just upped their th.

If most of the clan need to be left out for 3-6months at a time so as not to be a liability while maxing, how could wars even be started?

I think there needs to be more new clan perks added if there are war match making changes to get more clans excited about clan wars again. We were starting to slow down on clan wars before the clan levels were added. After that we pushed like crazy with constant wars trying to get the perks and tried to get the most clan XP we could even if we were going to lose the war. This was before the engineering really took off. I think we had a few mini accounts at the time, mainly for cleaning up the bottom bases when we could not consistently find lower level players to fill in the clan. These minis developed into upper level accounts over time mainly with a couple of attacks maxed out and defenses updated more slowly. Once we reached clan lvl 11 we slowed down on wars since there were no new perks. We were generally in the top 10-25 USA clans to reach the new clan levels. We have lost several of our core players since then. We generally only war once a week now if that. On the wars now we generally hold off on attacks until the end and wait and see if we have a chance in a war based on how well the opponent can attack. If the opponent gets to a point we can't catch up we just sit out the wars now.

Getting clans excited about clan wars and getting more clans into clan wars should help with match ups just by adding more clans to ones available during the war searches.

To balance out the war matchups, there probably needs to be more weight places on the top defense base and top offensive attack on each side of the match up. On the offensive side it should look at the highest TH level of the strongest troop and give it the most offensive war weight. Additional troops should also be included, but with a lower war weight. This would give a strong offensive weight to a player with troops updated for their TH level.

Builder base has the same issues with bad matchups if you try and max out at each builder hall. I use 2 builder hall bases. 1 is a BH4 that I am working on maxing out. I constantly get matched up with BH5s and even some BH6s. Hard to win matches with a BH4 against a BH5 that always has a MM and sometimes has a BM as well.

Matchmaking is slaughtering us. War after war we're being screwed just cause we didn't 'engineer' our bases.
4 Th11, 5 Th10s, 11 th9s vs 8 maxed offense th11s, 9 th10s and 1 th9 and 2 th5s
How is that fair play?!

th11 - low royals (20/20/10) - has EA and infernos
TH10 - 30/39 - has infernos
TH10 - 25/25 - has infernos
next 4 - TH9 (no 8.5's - 1 maxed defense 23/23, next 3 are nowhere near max)
next 3 - TH8

Their Lineup
TH11 - 35/35/15 royals - has EA and infernos
TH10 - 40/40 - has infernos
TH11 - 45/45/20 - no EA or infernos (should note, has all 4 max xbows, all archer towers and cannons are lvl 15, max walls).
TH11 - 30/30/10 - no EA or infernos
next 3 - TH9's (2 maxed defense, mid level royals)
next 3 - TH8's


Ultimately, they had 6 attacks with warden, and we had 2. Tough to recover from a disadvantage like this.


We 2'd all their 11's and 3'd everything else. They missed the 2-star on our #1 - twice. We tied them in stars, but lost in overall percentage (92%vs96%). A little more level playing field and we had a good chance to win.
