Clan War Matchmaking Improvements

Today we got this one:
Us
10 th11
5 th10
5 th9

no engineered roster, no engineered bases. 2-3 th9,5 only.

Them
15 th11
5 th10
1 th8

Now this is one of the most unfair matchups i have seen in 4 years playing the game.

I have been thinking some solutions.

1. Upgrading your th after putting all defenses, just like builder base.it doesnt solve the problem entirely, but it helps.
2. Add an extremely high ww to th, so that even a defenceless th11 will have bigger ww than a maxed th10.
3. Reduce the available attacks in war from 2 to 1.
4. Disable use of troops higher than your defence in war. For example a th11 with ww of a th5, can use all its troops in farm, but in war he has available only the troops that a th5 can use.

You compare engineering with something that is against the rules of the game. Those two things can't be compared. You can't compare illegal activities with legal activities and say that they are both just as wrong. Building a strong clan is not against the rules. In clash of clans building a strong base and a strong team is just as important as personal skill. How many times would Michael Schumacher become World Champion if he would just drive in a Minardi?

But isn't engineerings play style to take advantage of the maxing playstyle? I wonder, will the engineers complain that they're on an even playing field?

I didn't compare engineering to modding. I was just pointing out we've heard the line "SC will never doing anything about X because of all the gems..." loads of times before. Usually just before SC nukes whatever X is.

Okay, now I get it. You don't compare modding with engineering but you compare the action that SC might take against those activities. You expect they will both be nuked.

If I read however the statements that SC made against modding and the statements that SC made "against" engineering then I get the feeling that it is completely different what they intend to do. With modding it was one warning and after that it were permanent bans. With engineering they are talking about an evolution instead of a revolution of their mm system. That does not sound like nuking to me like they did with modders.

I can remember something called "townhall snipping" that wasn't against SCs TOS but I think that got so called nuked 2ish years ago..

Everyone has their ideas on how to fix it but honestly I think the easiest solution is to eliminate the advantage the engi accounts have over what engineers call "maxers" and only use offense and townhall in the matchmaking selection. Example th9=900 th10=1000 th11=1100 plus whatever chosen weight per troop but not exceed 100, so max 9 would never equal a th10 unless that th10 has th8 troops.

i think new war match making IS eliminating the advantage by not matching an engineer clan with normal clans... and what you have suggested .. if it was that easy then darian's last statement won't be this " it's still in the testing stages and it's something QA is analyzing at the moment. "

and this was made 6 days ago and the post is 3 week old .. which means they were still testing this new algorithm even after 15DAYS later ..and surely they would have been testing this new algorithm even before posting the thread ...

so all in all solving engineering is not that easy .. cuz if you compare engineering with TH sniping then TH sniping cost them alot of players quit game ... even though removal of th sniping was right but still people left the game and i am 100% sure don't want this same exact thing to happen again .. so they don't remove engineering from core .. all they will do is remove that advantage ...

Not my point. My point is that one play style is designed to take advantage of another, nothing to with the system! I just think it'll be interesting to see how the engineers respond to a system that doesn't allow them to gain An unfair advantage. I personally don't mind engineering to a degree, I like engineering up to th9 but after I wouldn't engineer passed th9 and the single level 1 canon but th11 offence is where I think it becomes cheap!

as long as this new algorithm is giving fair match ups i am fine with it .. (so here's an engineers response )

the thing IS no one except engineer knows after oct update last year .. engineer clans are matching with other engineer clans .. and trust me it's a fact you can confirm with other engineer clans .. but we still see alot of report of unfair disadvantage .. the thing is that match making is not perfect and can never be .. all they can do is improve it .. but still there will be MISMATCHES ... after oct update i have NEVER SEEN AN NON ENGINEER CLAN MATCH WITH OUT ENGINEER CLAN OF 11 TH11 ENGINEER ACC'S CLAN.

so why are they improving this current match making ?

answer is , as i have said clan war matchmaking can never be perfect they can just improve it .. so there were some tweaks needed to improve war matchmaking to like make it let's say 90% of the time engineer clans will match with engineer clans ... i am sure even after this new matchmaker there will still be complains that "we are matching with engineer clans fix your game SC wth" and will always be there . CUZ MATCH MAKING CAN NEVER BE PERFECT..

HOW ever the only thing i don't like with CURRENT match making is that it is matching engineer clans with each other but the balance between both clans is less.. which i believe will be fixed in this update.. like in our current war we have around 8 engineer th11 (with some of them having th9 def some with th10 and me with th8) and they have 5-6 engineer th11 .. so they are in disadvantage , and such disadvantages can be given to any clan.. todays we have advantage tomorrow our opponent will have have that .. like i guess a week ago in 40 vs 40 we had 10-12 engineer th11 and out opponent had 25 ENGINEER TH11s!!! with there th9 def maxed to th11 like those 6 archer tower were of lvl15 and xbows were of lvl 5 so all i want is to balance this this both clan will have same or similer amount of engineer th11,10s and same amount or similler amount of inferno and eagle basses
