Imagine SC doing the boxing match making. Sorry Mr Featherweight, we think you are winning too much, here, fight this heavyweight.

War record should be used to decide which clans should match when there is more than one appropriate match to be made, not punish clans with long win streaks by throwing them into ridiculous matchups. The idea that your war record caused this, when the better engineers can largely negate the war record factor is especially galling. To use the boxing analogy, you should match the best available fighter in your weight class, not one from an entirely different class.

It would be interesting if you can talk to the other clan & find out if their search ran for a longer than usual amount of time. I can only think of a few wars over the last year where we were at a major disadvantage both offensively & defensively, but we were mostly running 9.5s as the top couple bases until the last several months. I'd like to think that this match only happened because one of the clans had been in search for hours & hours, but I'm probably wrong.

SC should look at how this happened & make sure whatever they're doing eliminates this kind of disparity.

@Darian if wall weight is high the matchmaking would always be problematic. We are facing this currently. My clan have seen it several times. My Clanmates have upgraded their villages completely including walls. But we always get mismatched opponents.

I do agree that MM improvements are a good thing. Eliminating the HUGE advantages from engineered bases will be good for the war community. TH6s with max war troops are ridiculous. But when it comes to .5 bases, I'm curious to see how they will be affected.

Will .5's suffer? How will they balance the weight based on offensive & defensive capabilities of someone who has just upgraded to the next TH level.

Personally I think like for like
so if you have 10x TH 8 and 10x TH 7
Then you get matched with pretty much the same.

As I see this game is about making best base possible at every level.
Yes clans will put in there best bases.But is that not the idea...there will always be players put into war that are not maxed on both sides,
Unless your clan has maxed TH11 and would not effect you.
Way I see it would end engineers......I'm sure some would disagree however there is other options..


Attacking with in 5 of your base number.
Example
30vs 30 war.

lets say player 20 is a 1 cannon base with his lvl 20 heroes max troops
he would only be able to attack between bases 15-25.... There for.....
NO ADVANTAGE .....let him waste his resources attacking prob a th8 on the other side.

This would also without taking into consideration of Engineered bases would give wars a whole new stratergy to wars.

Here's my Theory about the 'Recent War Performance' /Win streak checkbox. It's based upon Skrags logic, which sometimes leaves a little to be desired, but hey, i'll go with it....


In the beginning - the Dev team are sat round a table and agree that implementing this checkbox from scratch is a good idea!
The question is .... Why?

This is where the logic comes in....#sigh...

The SC team want to encourage Clan Wars participation as much as possible, because by it's nature, and the desire of players to gem their Hero upgrades, it is extremely profitable for SC.

It follows therefore that there are only 2 main groups of players that are feeling demotivated to participate in random wars (I'm excluding the players that don't like war full stop!)

First Group - above average players/clans up to Elite War clans who are bored with random 'farm wars' as they just aren't competitive, and they just don't enjoy them.

Second Group - below average players/clans who lose a lot, and just don't enjoy the experience (understandably) and feel demotivated to keep warring.

Assuming the above (big ask I know!!XD), lets focus on that First Group. The good/elite clans now have friendly wars, CWL, NDL, type wars to fulfil their lust for competition. Even if they roll a random war every now and again, and get a farm war, it's not that big of an issue these days.
What about the 'above average' clans? I'd put my own clan in that bracket tbh. Win more then they lose etc. Do these kind of clans feel demotivated to war by matching poor clans? Generally (not always), I'd say probably not. A wins a win for most of us. Keeps moral up, and most players don't mind an easy war every now and again.
In summary, I don't feel that this 'First Group' are demotivated to war, because of the reasons set out above.

So, what about that Second Group? The clans that lose a lot. It's easy to say, that these players should practice more, or take the time to learn good strategies (lets talk Gowipe!), but the reality is that maybe they just don't have the time or inclination to do so.
To me this is the biggest area where players get demotivated to war.

For this reason, I have arrived at the conclusion that this is the main reason for the 'Recent war performance' checkbox. It's not for the clans that win, but to help the clans that lose.
Let us not forget that for every war won, a war is also lost. Mathematically, any clans with current win streaks (of any size) are actually within the minority of clans warring.

Summary (tldr)

While I'm often found sticking up for the 'pick up and play' casuals (which I accept), my logic( :facepalm:) suggests that this checkbox is far more prevalent for the losing clans, than the winning ones!:)

When the update come

Clan Wars have been pathetic these days the last war I have been my clan's top base was 3 stared by opposition clan's war member 15 in a 20v/s20 war. That in some days feels like engineered bases have totally taken over the clan wars and for non-engineered bases who r at th9 or starting th10 it's a presumed loss in war .Those clan's having good engineered bases only wins the war .In my current war their are 2 th11 but we don't have even 1 .They have almost 7 engineered base which will get them almost 10-12 good three star attacks which leads a easy loss for my clan .I have shared some photos of my clan war opposition see the condition .This is the condition please do something fast to resolve these issues and we can again have Happy clashing .

Still SC working on it?! In current war we have 3 th11 & the opponent have 8! Its a 30 vs 30 war & their 23rd player's hero's level are 45/45/20! If this is not a joke then what is a joke...
I noticed that most of so called engeneered clan location is China...
Hope SC take their action fast, THE CLAN WAR ALREADY RUINED... not any fun there...

That's not how it works. Both clans would have to be in search for hours & hours for it to be the case. When matching the clans the matchmaker only uses the smaller threshold. So if clan 1 was in search for 10 minutes and clan 2 was in search for 3 days, the 10 minutes threshold will be used. The 3 days threshold would only be used if both clans were in search for 3 days.

I thought that after our first run in with a clan that had an engineered base.

BUT we recently had a few wars that had multiple engineered bases TH10s with single cannon, early 20 heros, maxed troops. These were #14 and 15 on a 15v15 - mirrored to a TH7 and a TH8. They couldn't attack worth a damn though. Neither got 3 stars on our third and fourth ranked TH9s
