are you sure about that??
because, as far as I know, if the intent to get an advantage in wars isn't there, than it isn't engineering
I think you're wrong man

Lets say her base was still defenseless and the new update hits, do you think the MM would care about what her intent was?
I try not to factor in intent when discussing engineering. How do you determine the intent of a bunch of strangers on the internet? Immediately assume the worst and work from there?
well if she had no intention on getting an advantage in wars, then great, because when the new update hits she'll get none. I think supercell thought the same, that's why they're doing it
there'll always be exceptions to the rule, but I'm certain that it's safe to assume that the vast majority of those who upgraded only certain kinds of troops and didn't have any defense and still went to wars new exactly what they wanted (deceive the MM to get an advantage, aka engineering)Quote:

do you disagree? be fair
Current my early th10 with no Infernos (yet) is regularly matched with nearly maxed th10. Will this change stop that?
Another possibility is:
It adds a severe penalty toward more deliberately set-up bases, if someone has at least 2-3 war troops/spells (maybe exclude ones such as barbarians, minions, goblins, etc. from that) at much higher town hall level (equivalent) despite much lower defensive weight, it will automatically bump their weight up to that of about middle weight of the town hall the specific troops/spells are equal to. Rushers usually tend to just have poor troops that aren't even close to their town hall level, so they're slightly less likely to be hurt by this.
Example: A guy has approximately th8 war weight, but he has th10 level troops, his weight is automatically bumped to that of a mid-th10. :P
Its very possible that it won't, if you are not running engineered bases (although X.5 could be considered engineering), it is likely that it is the rest of your war lineup that causes you to 'mirror' a slightly higher TH10. As total weight of everyone in the war is considered in the matchmaking you could well have an advantage over the TH9s or maybe higher up, over the TH11s. This is quite normal, the only area I would like to see it changed is that if the bases are the top ones on each side I would agree that they should be as closely matched as possible, as that's usually where the wars are decided.
So will we get any updates for CW MM improvement or it'll be implemented in maintenance break itself.
So apparently engineering is now considered a valid playstyle by Supercell, otherwise they would not have bent over backwards to avoid nerfing engineering. This decision disappoints me greatly. The sole purpose of engineering and the only reason why engineered bases even exist is to generate mismatches in war. So now (assuming the new matchmaking even works properly) you will have divided your clan pool into two separate groups, the engineers and the non-engineers, which will reduce the number of available clans in each group for matching, thereby making the matching process take longer. All just to avoid offending the engineers. Great job, Supercell.
Unless this update will be "almost perfect" this will hardly changes anything.
I will explain exactly why:
when currently max offense th11 that is mirrored to th8, after update will be mirrored to lets say maxed th9 or early th10 the result will be identical - EASY 3 STAR.
Unless they will match th11 to th11 or at least maxed th10, nothing will change in the outcome.
Currently matching mainly on defense lead to Offense engineering, if they will match by defense, we will see defense engineering (min offense/max defense bases)
Making a tweak to both and matching by offense and defense is the key, but here i just worry they will still match th11s to th9s/th10s and this really solves nothing as we can all predict how 10x10 war of th11s vs th10s will look like.
