While they aren't taking down many 11s with lower heroes, they still have a chance a taking out a 10 and certainly will destroy a 9. That's kinda key. War weight of a 9, Offense of a 10 or 11.

The 9 vs 9 war isn't this 99% 3 star rate that people like to claim. It just simply isn't. Plenty of data out there to disprove the claim.

So when an 11, with mid lvls of King/Queen, lvl 5 + Warden and a maxed out attack comp, "draws nothing more than a mid 9, It most definitely has an impact on the war.

A significant impact.

If everyones war weight starts at their townhall level, as some offer up as a solution. Rushed bases would get crushed even more than they already do.

Match making is hard there are no easy solutions. I think MM has improved over the last year. This could be because our clan now have 4 max th11s and a few 10.5s in 20 v 20 wars.

I welcome SuperCell working to improve MM. I give them credit for the effort, not a easy problem to solve.

I am sure it helps cleaning up the 9s and 10s but our wars are all about 3 staring the 10.5s and % on the 2 stars on the th11, 9s and 10s never an issue. We don't have any 9.75s but we have 4 defenseless 11s that help clean up 9s or low 10s, our best has 20/20/15 heros. Use to be able to use them to 2 star an 11 or 2 and some of our 10s could do the same but with the new levels it is mostly up to the real 11s to do it.

Heh, finally someone from Supercell who actually posts without beating around the bush. You are much better than the previous so called community manager whoever he was I forgot.

You seem to be completely unaware that most of the wars out there are fought with 9s and below. Can you grasp what effect those low hero th11s have on those wars?

I feel, the fact on bh game they force everyone to drop all defenses before moving to next bh level points that they recognize they screwed up with the main base.

I like that they are recognizing current mm is a problem and are being public about it....but they pointed this out over a year ago and as of late, mm has been terrible. As a max th11, i'm simply sick of our clan running into these engineering clans (some full or some partial). It has ruined the only aspect of the game that has kept me and many friends around. I know many that have stopped playing as a result.

Say what you want, the community early on was about maxing. There use to be a goal to work towards in maxing. Max walls were a badge of honor (electric blue walls use to scare the hell out of you). Max bases was always a clue to those who put the hours in. I recognize engineering takes time (or lots of gems) but the purpose of engineering is to gain a war advantage. There's no sugar coating it.

I have no problem with the .5s or .75s. I dont believe most see this approach as a problem. This is simply prioritizing you upgrades. In the true sense of this approach, you max the prior th lvl before upgrading. Keeping low lvl defense or not dropping defense buildings before moving to th lvl is engineering. They're 'engineering ' thier base for low war weight to gain an advantage while matching a clan in war.

The farm/loot system is so easy to work now. There's no reason to 'rush' in the true (old) sense of the word. By th9, clashers know whether or not they want to stick around and push forward. You can fix your rush easily at th9. There's no excuse for rushing anymore (unless you're trying to engineer).

I haven't read through all 45 pages of comments, but I think the TH level should be the beginning factor in matchmaking. This would put an end to the engineering fiasco really quickly. Then offensive troops, and after that defenses.
One of my last wars the other clan had three TH10s (all engineered and weighted as low TH9s) while I had only a TH9 with 20/19 heroes as my #1. I almost tied them, too!

You're right about the MM improving because of the TH11s, but it was a bummer knowing that the whole war depended on Stretch and JB.
I preferred all TH9 wars, but I'm not as hardcore as you guys.
One of my last wars (I'm on vacation, so it's war time) was against three engineered TH10s, but I didn't even have Junior in war. I almost tied them, but mis-dropped a spell, so I only got 95%. Arrrgggghhh!

I only hope a good job SC, whatever, im not hyper-hyped like may update.

Designing your base a very specific way is the basic definition of engineering. One does not need to start engineering with the sole intention of taking advantage of the MM.

And I call stop putting words in my mouth. I never said she was ignorant of base weights. Just that her motivation was fun.

I am the war leader, my knowledge of base weights does not preclude her from engineering for fun.
