This thread contains a lot of speculation, on an outcome that hasn't yet come to pass, on a matchmaking algorithm that is as transient as the weather throughout the changing seasons.
if the "tweaks" have the intended effect, it just means that my clan will be beating "maxers" instead of the bullying of "engineers" we have been doing recently. This will be a welcome new challenge.
so... when it's drop...

Pros:
1. Cool news for those like wars with max defence. Now everything seems to be turning in their favour. (Going and staying up in leagues, practically everything in their favour now).
Cons:
1. All the hard work of buying gems, having defenceless bases just to gain some advantage in war, Seems to be over.
Conclusion:
New engineered base can be developed (i.e., upgrade th, max defence, stop upgrading troops but keep on upgrading army camp).
Nothing is perfect, So guys Stop complaining about engineered base. Engineered bases spends no lesser times than max out bases.
There will still be engineering. There will still be optimization. There will hopefully not be a mistake in the changes made to match making as obvious as when they reduced offensive weight impact on total weight.
If and when they control the current type of engineering, a new era of engineering will begin! There will always be a more beneficial way to build a base..or in which some would call "engineered"
There is no comparison to the difficulty and time it takes to move a base toward max and move on to engineering.
I have a nearly max Th9, playing 6 hours a day for most of 2.5 years it took 2 years to get it there. Really, it's closer to three but I don't play six hours anymore and it still has BK upgrades to do. Most of my growth occurred over two years.
I also have a TH9 that is engineered. It has its level 4 dragons and getting its lighting maxed now. I will go to TH10 soon. I will probably upgrade giants and goblins before I do so I can loot. I don't gem it up. That would make it very fast. I don't want to reward SC with money for causing me to do something I don't want to do. I hope it becomes useless and I have to end up catching it up. The time it took? Five months and I barely raid with it.
You guys that think engineering is hard to do are fooling yourselves. It isn't hard and it doesn't take nearly as long.
For me it is a lame way to play and I'll complain about it all I wish too.

Yes, you are right that there will always be some form of enginering and that is fine. It is actually fun to see how you can develop your clan in such a way that you have some advantage. It should however be some form of fine-tuning in stead of the bases with one single lvl1 canon and maxed out TH11 troops and hero's.Quote:
