My clan has given up and we are all quitting clash as of today. Since the matchmaking update we haven’t gotten a single good match or won a war. It’s not like we’re noobs either. But 4 maxed th11 to my one in a 10 man war isn’t fun anymore. It’s demoralizing and the builder base is a joke. What a total waste of money it’s been for me. I recommend any gemmers stop wasting your money now

The main problem is that by doing the sum of the weight of each base(like I think they are doing) you don't take into account the dispersion of the weight into the clan.
Simple example 10v10 war, weight scale from 0 to 10♥ :
Weight clan A♥ :♥ 10 10 10 10 10 0 0 0 0 0
Weight clan B♥ :♥ 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5
Sum of weight♥ : 50 for both perfect match...
You know who will win....that's engineering your line up. And you can change the weights of buildings or troops you will never solve the problem with the sum of weight
Now a solution, algorythm base on the sum of the square root difference♥ : first sort the weights from max to min for each clan. Second sum the square root of the difference. The value should be zero for a perfect match
Sum on bases (weightA - weightB)**2
Forbprevious example :
(10-5)**2+(10-5)**2.....(0-5)**2=250
Result♥ :♥ clan war completely unfair....
Easy to do, for defense and ofense weights separetly et sum both.
This method is described in any statistics book, it is an easy way to match 2 series of points.
The problem can be the search time, they are others solutions, less accurate but faster :
match the total weight and the standard deviation to take into account the dispersion.
Or match global weight, and perfectly match the highest defensive weight of each clan and the highest offensive weight (not necessarly the same base)
And last point, I hope supercell have stored♥ datas of the past wars, you can do data analysis (big data, machine learning) and test new matchmatching on previous war results. For 90 % of wars with more than 4 stars difference (maybe 3 or 5) the new matchmatching should say : NO. Easy to test before rolling out
Our clan has 1 9.5 base (no engineers, no other .5s) and he isn't always in war and we've seen a TON more engineered clans since the last couple of 'fixes'.

Typical Wars for us have always seen us outmatched. It used to be 1-2 TH11s, then it went to 4-9 TH11s under the revised MM, and now we're at 1-3 under the Sept update.
