Clan War Matchmaking Improvements

I'm a TH11, however I stopped adding cannons arch towers bomb towers @ TH9

I have 3 Xbow and 2 inferno all point def are maxed for TH10

Heros k36/Q41/W6

I have pulled in a couple of TH11 and a couple of TH10 in wars, If I pull in a TH10 then we usually have an extra TH10 up top than us but it doesn't seem to have infernos. If I pull in a TH11 then we have the same number of 10s as us in war.

The matches seem pretty fair to me so far.

For the first time in a long time, we have been matched almost perfectly.

Started search last night and opponent found relatively quickly with an almost exact match mirror TH's lvls.

Fingers crossed this is some light at the end of a very dark tunnel and not just a fluke matchup on our part.....

Totally agree... since not everyone Upgrades their bases and Their Content at the same time...a fully and accurate MM in CW is nvr possible. And Diverse No.s of th Also Needed.
As you have mentioned....
If Developers Cycle/re-prioritize their tasks to develop this game and Keeps focusing on every Content of the game time by time and if they keeps providing small but regular updates, Will result in the addition of new players, old players and Brings back Interest. Best Idea is to Make CW less stressful and casual. Some clans Really Work more strict than Anyone.

The MM currently favors balanced accounts. if your not balanced - and want wars... you best start working on it...

Personally - for me to balance my accounts would take a few YEARS... because I spent a few years doing basically offense only (with very limited defence)-- there is no quick fix to convert back into a balanced account...

Engineered accounts are still better in war - if used right. Do you want infernos? do you want to be attacking them every war? - or do you want to have wars where you aren't going to have to go head to head against infernos?

you need to decide for yourself - what kind of account you want to build.

Dont allow another player to dictate how you choose to play. Educate yourself and make up your own mind as to what is best for you.

Personally - I am a 9.11 with 45/45/20 heroes - 100% max walls and 100% max offense on a few accounts - and I will NEVER BUY infernos...

I dont want to see infernos in war; and I'm quite happy being a max th9 in weight with th11 offense... my account performs very well in war - there is no disadvantage if used properly.

I guess you are proud of yourself 3 staring no eagle/inferno base with your max offense, it should be so satisfying.

The simple questions that you should ask yourself are 1.does my current base set up help or hurt the clan eg are you always three starred 2. If i upgrade my defenses i am sure i can still do good attacks in war as you will match up with tougher bases only you can answer these questions not us

Some mixed messages posted in this thread, which is understandable, as every clan is different and the Official SC feedback on recent MM changes is grey in terms of detail.
It's very difficult to advise objectively, as Tomville suggested above.

Recently, SC announced that :-

"These changes will reflect a more accurate measurement of a player’s and clan’s offensive power"

And in the Q&A Video posted yesterday, Darian suggested that he and the Dev team were fully aware of the 'mismatches within the top rosters of clan wars'

The question therefore lies about not where matchmaking has been but which direction it's going. In reality nobody knows.
But, taking Blombardo's example of a max offence 45/45/20 TH11 with TH9 defences (9.11) :-

Do I think this kind of base build has been advantageous previously? - Yes, absolutely.
And the future ? - I'm not so sure!:)

Two more wars two more opponents that have double the TH11s as us. Last war it was 3-6 this war it's 2-4. When are we getting fair war matchups? Support says it's due to trying to get matches within a certain time frame, but when we get matched unfairly, it's a waste of two days. I'd rather wait longer and get a fair war.

As a clan with th10s as our max bases, I just want a war where I'm not having to hit th11s and having to watch my base being wrecked by max troops and wardens. I don't care about engineered clans aslong as supercell address the th11 v th10 issue in matchmaking.

10v10
TH11: 0 v 1(no xbow/inferno/eagle,max troops+16/17/20heroes, 71k weight)
TH10: 5 v 3
TH9: 5 v 6
Result: TH11 6 starred our top 2 easily. We could only 3 star their th9. Fix pls

All,

Below is our latest war of 15 v 15. It is matching engineers with engineers for the most part. The biggest issue this war was they had 2 TH10's with both Infernos (at 2 & 3) and none of our TH10's had infernos.

Their gold weight was much higher than ours too. The war is not over and we will see how we do but since their #2 and #3 both had infernos and decent heroes I had to dip down and was unable to attack their #1. We did get 2 stars with another one of our TH11's but it was a low 2 star and I know I could have done better.

Overall I think the matching was pretty fair but it they did have a slight advantage because of more hero levels and more Inferno towers.
