To level up or not to level up?

I also wondered about that advise when I started. I tried to level up as fast as possible to join a neighbourhood tbh and then I kinda levelled up relatively quickly to 27 just by playing quite actively....but...now I get it. I have now become a lot more selective in doing things that get me xp...I'm trying to slow my level up pace down.

What happens is, as you level up and open up new machines and goodies, these will become part of your truck order and boat order and derby options, but chances are, even tho you opened it up, you may not actually have the capability to make these items yet as the machine is too expensive to buy or whatnot. If this happens too much you will start to be unable to play properly without a lot of external help.

So I'm totally with wussipuss, get to 'neighbourhood' level as fast as you can and then slow a bit and catch up on everything. :smirk:

I always seemed to be short of coin at the beginning until I hit on finding one product or crop that I could grow that fit my HD time habit....meaning can I be on every 10 min to harvest or every hour or just a few times a day.....then fit your crop growth to that time frame. Sell all your overage in shop. Another important method is to find a friend or family member who plays HD and is at a higher level....they can help with coins....I am at level 113 and have helped my grandson in the beginning by passing him vast amounts of coin. He made it to level 40 easily and is capable of buying every machine. Don't waste your money on cute farm decorations or pets in low levels. Don't worry about boat orders they suck you dry of your stock and don't pay much. That will come after about level 50. Keep up on your dry trees and bushes don't let them take over your farm....keep them cleared. Group your fruit trees together in small groups so you can easily harvest what you need. Develop your town when possible it gives a good balance of coin and XP but try to upgrade barn and silo every chance you get....I am at 4400 barn and 2800 silo and still run out of room.

Great advice all of the above.

I stick by the theory you don't need every animal or pet. Eggs, goats milk and wool are in the DD. If you are looking to do achievements later on then get all the animals. Buy Only one feed mill & One smelter. Looking for coins sell in newspaper. Looking for CP do trucks.

I gotta kinda disagree with you there. What you describe may be very efficient but it doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

I'm only a noob yet, I have got a bunch of cute decorations already and boat orders are actually my priority lol. :saywhat:.. they give you certificates which you need to get pets.

It kinda depends on how you play I suppose. Yes there are way more efficient ways than mine but I prefer to have some smallish goal and achieve that and then set the next one. Personally I want to have as many cats as you can have, so everything I do is geared towards getting those certificates.

I do have highlevel friends and yes they do help me as well but with items rather than coin. I appreciate a bit of help but the bulk of the achievement has to come from playing it myself and 'earning' those things I have. Otherwise where is the fun?

HD isn't like clash, it's so much more gentle and slowly paced. I'm an almost max player in clash but here I feel like I can play at a more leisurely pace and really enjoy all the cute things ...this may make my journey longer but... frankly my dear, I don't give a damn :smirk:

Really appreciate all the great advice. Didnt realize the machines get so expensive, so maybe I'll wait on getting the tractor afterall! Thanks!

I know a level 89 in my NH with only one smelter!

There is really no right or wrong answer.

Generally the "don't level too fast" concept pops up when you have multiple things you can purchase but cannot afford.

In that case it's best to slow XP and focus on coins, as completing Trucks, Boats, Town orders etc is harder if you have 0 stock of the wanted items.
