I played back a few years ago and im level 43 or something but i mainly play clash....Thinking about re-downloading hayday, is it worth it ? anything new?
Its just annoying because i bought a bunch of trees and bushes but now 1/4 of my land is dead trees and bushes but axes and saws are rare
The trees and bushes you bought before you quit playing will be in the same state they were when you last left. Easiest method to get rid of them is to rent Tom for a day and purchase axes and saws until you are satisfied. You'll be happy to know that Tom will now offer 9 of anything you request so no need to not accept an offer hoping for more.
There's lots of new stuff that has come in the last few years and the best thing to do is to try it. Were you still playing when the derby and the derby leagues came along? And the newest in the Animal Sanctuary. Although that will not effect your game play. There are new trees and products, and probably a new production machines. Also, the in game friend book, making it easier to have friends now that you cannot add more friends thru Apple's Game Center. (If you're an Apple user).
If you do decide to give it a go, stay on the forums and read some of the older threads. Don't forget about the "New to HayDay?" Sub-forum too.

Coming back will be made less like work if you join a neighborhood. Then you can play with friends, chat, and have fun while you get your farm running again. When I came back to the game (about a 9 months ago) what made it easier was playing the derby. Then I had a reason to play every day and to build up my barn keep my farm in a nice shape. The derby helped me set goals which is the reason why I still play. If you treat hay day like work with no point you'll lose interest quickly. Find (or remember) something in the game that you like and then play for that. :)

you may find that there are more axes and saws. Keep any pets fed and if you have the town, work it hard. Lots of axes and saws come from my town
keep only a set number of trees and bushes, for example, 10 of each, harvest a few at a time and replenish them as you chop them. Buy any fruit in the newspaper until you get your mess cleaned up and good luck!

It's definitely worth it. And if your old farm is keeping you from trying again, you could always start over with a new farm and not make the same mistake(s). Though, every mistake in hay day *CAN* be fixed. It will just take some time and patience :) I would recommend keeping your old farm unless you will literally be so annoyed you'll just immediately quit playing again XD
