[Village Health and Power] - Further Understanding Our Bases
I searched the forums to the best of my ability to see if this idea has already been suggested and couldn't find anything, but apologies if there is already a thread mentioning this idea that I overlooked.
With the release of player profiles, we were provided with a lot of very useful information, and I would like future updates to continue to provide us with information that we can use to become better clashers.
When upgrading buildings I never payed much attention to the hp of the buildings until I started trophy pushing (especially when the new hogs came out). I have now become very interested in the value of building hp, how much buildings gain from an upgrade (for instance I noticed that while my lvl 8 wiz towers would only gain 40 hp from an upgrade, my lvl 10 canons would provide a 150 hp increase if upgraded to lvl 11). Another example being when I started redesigning my base for trophy hunting, I realized how high the hit points of storages are and finally understood why high trophy players were using them as "walls" on the outside or in an unprotected part of their base.
This got me thinking how useful it would be to have a "page" similar to the profile page that would display various information on a players base such as:
- Total Village Health (hit points of every building added up)
- Total Village DPS (same idea as above). Perhaps also a subsection here displaying total single target dps and total splash dps.
- Information about what upgrades would provide the largest and smallest increases in Village hp / dps (ie in my case it would say cannon upgrade would provide the largest hp increase while tesla upgrade would provide the largest dps increase, etc). The info on this may need to be differentiated for defensive buildings vs other buildings.
- Total Wall HP (not sure yet if this would be factored into the village hp / other bullet points as wall level seems to cause very mixed opinions in regards to how effective it is compared to defenses.
- Defensive range view mode. Right now one can only see the range of a defensive building one building at a time by selecting it - it would be VERY useful to be able to see all defensive buildings' ranges at once (perhaps different defenses would be different shades or colors). This, I imagine, could be incorporated into the new (and awesome!) village edit mode. I think the most useful reason for this feature would be making it much easier to see what parts of the base are in range, if the same defenses are equidistant from each other (which is often something people factor in to their base design) and so on.
The above bullet points are the main and most important features (in my opinion) that I've thought of so far. I would love to hear some feedback and any suggestions for what might be added or how one of the exiting suggestions might be improved.
With the profile and village edit mode additions to the game recently, players have been provided with some incredibly useful tools for understanding their base and the game. I would love to see SC provide us with even more information on our bases so that the CoC community can have a more in depth understanding on the mechanics of their villages.
