Cropping fields n tools drop rate

Slow to the cropping of fields for tools despite playing for 2 years ☺️ Some advice would be appreciated

1. Is there a difference in items u get if u crop wheat vs crop or carrots ? Higher priced crop give u bettter tools?

2. Drop rate of mining tools to axes n saws to bems n sems

Some people here are so detailed n Organised was wondering if anyone actually keeps track of what items are given and is there some sort of ratio?

Appologies if my questions seem silly, but discussing amongst my friends who do crop my drop rate seems much lower n our fields are maybe a difference of less then 6 plots.. so I thought I would try n get more feedback here😊

No apology necessary! Everyone here finds the issue of those precious drops endlessly interesting!

I don't believe that there is a difference in either the rate or the type of drop based on crop.

The only thing I find that affects my rate is when I accidentally start collecting crops while my barn is full. No crop drops with a full barn.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever done a comparison of mining/chopping/expansion tools. I know that I need to keep a fairly balanced amount of things in order to get my rare drops, but it never occurred to me that there might be a balance between those three types.

FYI -- I think this also applies to pets and animals. (But not townies).

Gotta love consistency... This is why so many players get confused regarding item drops!

You can also over fish with lures, but not with nets too

The drop rate doesn't depend on crop type. Strawberry has the same rate as wheat.

It does depend on your level though. The higher your level, the less often you get tools. When I was level 140 or so, I got a tool each ~77 fields. I was excited to get 154 fields to be able to consistently get 2 tools per harvest. But I was disappointed, because at level 154 the drop rate is 1 tool per 80 fields. It's like we're getting penalized for leveling up, which is annoying. I mean we get one field every 2 levels (>2.5 million XP), give us a break with the drop rate!

It's the same with pets. I get less tools from my pets now, than I did before.

I don't like it but I'm pretty sure it was not intended as a penalty. They probably just assumed that there would be less need as you go along. Baby farms need plenty of tools that's a fact but, at lvl 200 or whatever there are no new products to fit in so why keep expanding the barn? I get that some people (including me) will expand to the end of time because they like the space but objectively the SC team could have just assumed it wasn't technically necessary. There are arguments that some players (including me) stopped expanding and should be able to restart without having to worry about their lvl but to those (including me) that is how the game works and you're just going to have to account for it.

To answer the OP: I have seen no pattern or ratio to the tools in the drops (although I don't doubt there is one) and TBH I don't even know the drop rate for my lvl (I know that I could look it up but it isn't that big of a concern to me so I haven't bothered). :)
