Are you calling for age brackets in clash? Currently you match a clan of kids sometimes and kick the snot out of them. I'm not talking your analogy here, I mean you're really playing against kids.

Currently TH color has a very minimal impact on war outcome. When "renting" was possible that was not true. The TH itself only adds a few hundred HP to a base. It doesn't add any more defenses or any more offense BY ITSELF. There are other items that do add defense and offense, but they are not named Town Hall.
Any time you allocate "weight" based on things that don't matter or not enough weight on things that do, distortions are introduced. Example - One of the major issues people identify right now is that Warden seems underweighted. The solution (if true) is to increase the Warden's weight. The solution is not to increase TH11's TH weight unless you want to introduce other distortions. ie Maxing is the one true way, both in my own head and now enforced by the game for clan wars, casuals can go to hell, my base is already perfect at a lower TH level and the rest of you must acknowledge it.
Please remove Engineer Bases Loop hole or put them ONLY against other Engineer bases. This is best for all to enjoy the game.
Where do you see this "engineered v fair play" discussion 'constantly'? It does happen, but the vast majority of forum contributors acknowledge that the engineers are not breaking any rules. Engineering has nothing to do with "fair play".... modding well, that's a different story!
How do you base your assumptions about engineering bases being a deep well of gems and money? I would suggest that illegal automated farming software tools (bots) are more often than not used on a particular kind of base progression, than any other... care to guess which kind?
Also, in my opinion, the key to the longevity of Clash of Clans, and therefore it's profitability, lies with the casual players of today and tomorrow, and this is the player base that the engineers are targeting. Can you see the imbalance potential here?!:smirk:
I'm being pedantic I know, but it's the Warden's Offensive weight that seems to be under recent scrutiny.:)
What you describe here is obviously unfair and cheating. Having overages players outside the bounds of U17 is illegal and the more championed players will with their skill wipe the younger less experienced players.
Engineering bases is well within the bounds of the game and construct. It is not illegal. Its fairness is subject to opinion and debate.
I can can choose to build ZERO walls and only require to build ONE cannon as a defense from the start of the game. Aside from that, nothing else is required and left up to each individual user to decide. Building for an all offense base with no defenses is a way to play the game. Similarly, rushing to TH10 or TH11 and building max defenses before having the troops are in place or a max defense is another strategy often referred to as rushing. No one cares about the rushers cause they don't impact clan wars negatively for the opponents. The "rushers" base may make it difficult to clear in a war but the base will not provide the same offensive impact and that user would be a net loss to the clan war. Conversely, an "engineered" base with zero defenses will be 3 starred but their offensive impact is much more devastating and that user is a net gain and therefore deemed as "unfair".
Regarding the gems. It is needed to build an engineered base. Getting max troops and heroes and trying to keep that loot in storages with little to no defenses is no easy feat.
Engineered bases are a natural evolution of the game. Once users figure out how the war matching algorithm works and weighs bases, giving themselves an advantage by leveraging the algorithm to work for them is smart play and a natural part of game growth and evolution.
No matter what changes they make, engineered bases will adapt and evolve again and those against engineering will continue to yell at the clouds.
I have 2 mini accounts that I'm engineering. I've started to drop some defences on them now, just to assure that in multi player my opponent has to drop enough troops to give me a shield. On those 2 accounts combined (both TH8) I've spent a combined $1.39.
I have 0 trouble getting, and retaining, Gold or Elixir. In fact, for the most part I always have an over abundance of each of those 2 resources. DE is the only real 'problem'. Not so much in retaining it, but it being able to farm it down in Silver II/III. With just 3 or 4 raids a day, combined with what I collect from drills/mines/collectors each day, I'm more than able to stay ahead of the amount I lose to raids on my bases.
I'm sure there are those that do spend money to make an engineered base, but it's not a necessity. In fact, given that most engineers and engineered bases, are made by the most dedicated clashers, I'd venture to say that most probably don't spend money on their engineered accounts.
Its comments like this that continue to divide people and start a domino effect. Putting engineers on some sort of pedestal and basically calling non engineers whiners who'll only complain after this mm updates. Most of us non engineered players only want to see the mm fixed and put everyone on an even playing field. Certainly no harm in or "yelling at the clouds" for wanting these changes.
