This thread has been entertaining to say the least. I'd offer my own perspective on engineering but my view on this has already been well represented.
If you want folks to check out ideas you've read that you liked, some additional info (link, subject heading, rough name of the idea). Otherwise, it strikes me as just saying "other people have better ideas than yours" [in your opinion]. That's not very constructive.
I certainly agree that it is pointless to try and have an intelligent debate with someone incapable of such discourse...
Regarding "competitive, arranged wars where skill determines the outcome", most people in this game have not, nor will they ever be, involved in this type of wars. Of course, they could always join the CWL because that is 100% FP...
As usual before a leak or update, everyone is speculating about what is to come. SC went in the direction of limiting play styles / upgrade paths on the BB so it is reasonable to assume that they may extend these controls to the main base.
The question is whether or not they will be that aggressive in attempting to address engineering so that matches are fair for the majority of the player based and whether or not their solution achieves it aims...

I have 3 accounts and I often war with all of them, I still know that when one is in a war it cannot be part of another war until the previous one ends. So the maths is simple 48 hours per war per account.
So even warring with 3 accounts back to back, with no breaks for vacations or anything that's 4.56 years.
I stand by my assumption that the poster has his figures wrong or something...
