What is a good minimum stock amount for different items?

There are so many different farming styles!

My barn is 3450

sugars and cream around 80

juices, 50, except for the newer ones (10-20), but grape juice 30

jams between 40 and 50, except for the newer ones (10-20)

Strawberry candles 50, other two 18 (yes, exactly 18!)

cheese 50

butter 30

most other things really vary

Things I do not stock... long list including popcorn, chilli pop, bread, tofu dogs, dresses, coffees... basically anything i can find or make easily


One builds up to new levels of hoarding, so my 80 cream used to be 50 ;)

Need to find something else to hoard now... I can't seem to fill my barn anymore

I'm only Level 76 and my barn is 1800 (I think?). I find my basic levels of stock creep up every few levels.

I keep 6 of every finished product and it'll probably go up to 7 before I reach Level 80. Except for the coffees - I only keep 3 of each of those because they're quick to make. Then I have 25 each of sugar and syrup, 25 each of cream, butter and both types of cheese. 12 honey, around 10 each of the different sauces and olive oil. For jelly beans, lollipops and chocolate I try to keep at least 10 of each because it takes so long to make them, so it's easy to run low if a few consecutive high-XP truck orders ask for them. I trash truck orders that ask for large quantities of anything.

For some reason I don't stock any of the pizzas. Don't know why, really, I just don't. :D

5400 barn for me. As others have said, as the barn grows, you find that your minimum levels keep increasing. I keep way too much milk, bread, bacon, popcorn (150 plus of each) but can adjust as needed when barn gets tight.

My barn is 8850 and I don't seem to play the game as others do - I just have my machines always making the products that I am low on and therefore have no specific number. I check my barn storage regularly and just have a run in those items I'm out of or very nearly out of. I very rarely have any butter or cream stored as these are always put straight to work. The largest numbers of items in my barn are the BEM's and SEM's - roll on the day my barn is maxed so I can give them all away gleefully.

100 each of cheese, goat cheese, butter, cream, sugar and syrup.
Minimum 20 of all types juices and jams.

My barn is 2950. My general philosophy is to keep 14-15 everything EXCEPT for things that are ingredients in other things (honeycomb, dairy, sugar, etc). When close to an upgrade it's pretty frustrating as I hit the full barn thing A LOT. I sell almost everything I make over 15 (and I run the machines making something all the time) except for expansion materials, axes and saws. It's been several years since I sold a tape to anyone outside the hood!

products of the fishing area between 20 and 40 ;-)

around 100 axes, 100 saws and mining tools

bread and eggs => sometimes only 30 of each sometimes 80...


I expand my barn or my silo or a building in the town...


My barn has plenty of room. :-)

I keep 21 of each item, whenever possible. I have a barn expanded to 3950, it's still not close to big enough. Maybe when I get closer to 6000 I will be happy.

Even tho my farm is way smaller than yours (lvl 80, barn 2850) my production works in the same way as yours...

Always have all machines running making whatever I have the least. If I'm gonna be around I make fast products, otherwise the long ones. Sometimes I have 30 of each product from a certain machine and sometimes just a few, but usually they are balanced per machine.
Dairy and sugar wise, I make the fast ones during the day and long ones during night and also have a baby farm that only makes cheese and syrup, so I'm always supplied to make anything needed.
The only restricted productions that require more management are feather, lobster and honeycomb based products.
