damn insane loot i would have a crack at 2 collecters :p
not with the troops you had... not even a single wallbreaker to get to those precious full collectors and mines, if all else failed u could have dropped a bunch of archers at the town hall to make sure you didn't lose, but then I realised you didn't have any of them either! oh well....
Thanks for the replies folks, yeah, thought it would be good to show what might have been in different cirsumstances...
Shame I was feeling a bit rushed, late at night, with a totally inappropriate little army...
haha better luck next time!
Gosh, I hate ♥♥♥♥♥♥ trolls who put collectors behind walls when they quit. I make a point of 3 starring their bases every single time if they do that.... <_<
BTW OP, change that pathetic army composition. Who the heck uses only Barbs and Goblins when they raid?
Dat loot -_-
WOW I wish I am able to find one!
At the risk of sounding a little defensive...
RegaliaRemix, ChiefClansChief - I was a pretty early TH6 when I found this offer, on my alt account... (which is now TH7)
No, I did not not always run with just barbs and gobs as TH6, but that mix was the most successful army I ever ran with up to TH5, for me it was like BAM at TH8, quick and multi-purpose for farming; until I got level 3 archers, I found archers useless for the easy bases I could find up to TH5, all I needed were barbs to get loot and/or take on defenses, gobs to get the fat loot asap. So yeah, I was still running with my old TH5 army, looking for the usual easy bases with good loot but hardly any defenses. I also tended to play for short periods, looking for as much loot as quickly as possible - a few minutes while waiting for the bus to arrive, a few minutes late at night after playing my main account, etc. Later on as TH6, I upped my trophies a bit, and branched out and used giants and archers, with some WB, to crack a wider variety of bases where a ranged attack was actually worthwile (yes, I did find that what worked well up to TH5 didn't work so well for TH6). But yeah, barbs + archers never really worked out all that well for me, at any TH level - at TH6 I went from mainly barbs, to dropping them altogether in favour of giants - likely once I've got level 4 barbs and archers I'll use that more at TH7.
Basically the example I'm showing here is simply a case of poor timing... if I'd found that base as TH5, it would have been an even bigger offer that I would have struggled to get any of... If I'd found that base later on in my (brief) TH6 career, I'd have had a different army and (most likely) been posting something more like a success story!
And spells... you use lightning as TH6? I hardly ever raided a base with clan troops, and if I did I just ignored them and got the loot asap, or lured and killed them, depending on what came out. And I found low-level lightning against mortars or similar to be a poor use of gold as well as brew time. I did find that, ocasionally, a heal spell on my goblins while under splash fire gave them just enough time to get all the loot. Basically, a poor-man's rage spell, for a level where you can't get rage. I always had 2 heal brewed all the way through TH6, including with giants and wizards to crack into the core of TH8 (same thing - poor man's rage - keep the troops alive until they can get the loot). Hardly used them, though. In fact, as TH6 I hardly even used my own clan castle... up to TH5 the loot was super easy to find and get with mainly barbs, and as TH6 once I found the right trophy range the farming wasn't much harder either, although I did notice it was more like TH7+ where it's harder to find good raids where you only used a few troops, it tended to be 10-15 minutes between raids because you're brewing a larger army and using more of it because you finally have to break walls and/or deal with some defenses...
Anyway, that was the whole point of my post - I was looking for big, easy to get loot, the same way I'd done as TH5, and unfortunately I found an insane offer that was, in my 30 second assessment, out of my reach for my simple little TH6 farming army... I had about 5 minutes to get a raid or two in, so pressed next rather than thrown down my whole army and (probably) get nothing. :)
