I know its been ruled out but I know 2 people in my clan that would also pay for a third name change.
Or have the change button reset every so often. I don't think allowing a name change every 6 months or something is crazy.
Supercell granted me a third name change. Still haven't used it lol
I honestly don't think so, even as money hungry as SC can be. I feel like if you created a stupid name to start and were gifted the ability to change that stupid name, but chose to create yet another stupid name, you should be stuck with it.
Why are they big on no name changes? I'm new to this site and only started playing clash last year. At this point I'm willing to ditch my current account for a new one just to get a new name. I'm only lvl 81 (TH 8) but the thought of starting over again doesn't sound fun.
It's not even that my user name is "stupid" per say. I just hate it because everyone thinks it's after a WWE wrestler and that irritates me to death lol.

Overall, if they allow a 3rd, then everyone will bellyache for a 4th.
If you made a poor choice on your second name or made a hasty change, let it be a lesson in life that you don't get second chances very often - think before you act, and accept the responsibility for your decision.
