Master League as a TH9

I set myself a challenge a while back to reach the master league as a town hall 9 and recently I achieved it. There are a fair few people almost maxed out in crystal one so it was a challenge attacking and because most people were town hall 10, they had the upper hand when attacking my base too. Is it common for people with a town hall 9 to reach the master league?

As a side note, most of my defensive wins were hog rider attacks.

I'm almost ready to go to town hall 10 in my opinion aside from the Teslas. I was just wondering what my next step should be? Can anybody point me in the direction of a successful town hall 10 design also?

Hi Owend,

You did a good job. I also made master III with almost maxed TH9 and I remember how hard that was, especially when the hogs attack was not in place (was yet full dragons or Gowipe mode). There is no ideal TH10 base currently because of this very debatable hogs attack... However I recently found that since supercell decreased slightly their hitpoints there is a trend to come back to the Gowipe (that's towards the champions' league...) - do you guys agree?

You could have a look at my TH10 (on the way, yet a lot to upgrade since maxed TH9) that resists pretty well (I'm currently 30-40 trophes to the champions' ;-) - most of it earned on defense since 2600)

At the beginning though the next steps are:
- put yourself at 1900-2000 for optimized farming
- start with your army camps to maximize attack against TH9s (forget about TH8s ;))
- Bring in then up the new defenses asap (these fire towers are really good) and the third x-bow makes the difference.

Congrats! It sure is a fun challenge, I just made it to Masters as a TH9 a few days ago.

Wait... did you say that most of my defensive wins were hog rider attacks?! It has been the exact opposite for me. I'm winning against balloon/minion and GoWiPe but the hogs are 3-starring me over and over again. Would you mind sharing your defense log? I may want to try out your base ;)

I'm bumping this. Any more opinions guys? Know of a unique design?

Reached Master II as a TH9, still on the way up (hopefully).
Most of my trophies come from defence. I'd suggest you change your base up slightly, leave a few spaces on the inside of your base, particularly between adjacent defence buildings, to allow room for spring traps. This is the best way to counter the full-hog attacks as one trap can kill multiple hogs at once.

Wow nice rocket, Im just hoping to get Crystal 1 on my push as a TH 8, near maxed, but still have walls to do.

Of course he does, the higher you push the less and less player you meet... Do not show where your spring traps are located... ;-)

Nicely done! It is a bit of a grind. One of my friends made it to masters at TH8 last trophy push.

I didn't mean the placement of his traps I meant the design as a whole.
