Optimum Lobster Stratgey

Hi,

Has anyone posted the optimum lobster approach yet?
I reached Level 44 2+ days ago and immediately started the lobster pool repair (90k coin).
This morning it opened and I started two lobster cages in the net machine (2x 2 hours each).
I read the pots take time? to soak so I started the first upgrade of the pool (52k coin).

That gets capacity = 2x lobsters in 12 hours time.

What are the next recommended steps?
Obviously I am going to drop the lobster pots in to soak once they are done and start more....
But there are six upgrades for the pool I read soemwhere, total 340k coin.
Are they all necessary?

Any advice? or maybe post a link to an existing thread please.

During upgrade you can have lobster in it, once the upgrade is done your lobsters are ready too.

There are not 6 but 5 upgrades to reach the max cap of the lobsters pool, and the time increase per 2h, the last one need 20h.

During 6h while my lobsters are happy together in the pool, I make another 3 to 4 cages by the time my lobsters finish their bath (I assume that I'll be there 6 or 8 hours later). I don't use net and all fishing area expanded. I have then 4 to 5 fishing spot available for fishing. And if you have the choice, put your trap where the cool down time is the most (4h).

I don't think you need all upgrades right now if you are still saving for other machines as lobster trap may not keep up. But having free place in the lobster pool can benefit you as an extra storage when your barn is full and you cannot get the lobster out. Too bad they can't be stock piled :)

I have system that I make 4-6 lobster cages, then drop to water. While this have another 4-6 lobsters boiling.

If you time this right there's always some boiling and some to catching in water. Good way to time is that you drop in water before you get to sleep.

You might not want to fill all fishing spots with lobster cages if you doing some fishing.

Is there a cool down period after you haul your lobster pot out or can you put another pot in right away?
My first two lobster pots are in the water now, soaking for 6 hours each.
I assume the six hours loster pot soaking time is the same in each of the eight open fishing spots?

No, there are no cool down time after trapping lobster (always 6h). You can either fish or put another trap right away.

So the bottleneck is the net maker (with no mastery?) as each trap takes x2 hours = 12 pots the most that can be made per day. The output of the fishing pots is a maximum of 32 per day (8 x 4) and the output of the pool averages out at one lobster per hour (so 24 maximum per day).

Therefore three fishing spots would seem to be the optimum for lobster fishing I conclude (provided they can work 24/7). And as you can only regularly catch 12 per day as driven by the net maker the lounging time in the pool = 12 x 6 = 72 hours per day required so actually only three lobsters will be swimming on average at any one time.

I conclude I will not go past capacity = 4. 6 lobsters will never be needed unless you want to work in time blocks with significant time away from the game?

I upgraded my pool to fit the max of six.

Lobster trapping goes on only overnight, I put the 6 traps in before I go to sleep, wake up, pick up lobster in the morning and in they go in the pool. Always making traps (never nets)...do not like fishing with nets and not want to use 5 diamonds for mystery net.

After the first round, now I always have between 6-12 lobsters in the barn, somtimes more if I did not have to use lobster during the day. Never needed more than that.

Plus, this way I keep all my spots open for fishing with lures.

Anyway it's really important for everyone have optimum lobster strategy in their lives :D. (Think this line as joke and as in real life)

I tried a few things, and finally settled on 4. I make 4 cages at a time, have 4 cages in the water and four lobsters cooking in the pool. I check in every 8 hours if I can, and swap everything at once. It amounts to 12 lobsters a day, more or less, and means I only have to interact with it three times a day.

My fishing area is completely expanded and I have upgraded my lobster pool as much as possible. I make lobster cages during the day and nets while I sleep. Then when I wake up I put the nets in. Do some cages and the rest of the fishing spots I use lures. My lure maker has 3 slots and net / cage maker has 3 too. I'm not really into using lures unless I don't have enough cages or nets to fill up my fishing spots. Fishing is a hassle. I'm really impatient when it comes to the fish pictures. I tend to put my cages in the rocky spots and the default fishing spots since some colored lures do better in the other spots.

I went for 4 and it works well for me at the moment........

I expanded the pool to 6 because I have so many coins that this was not an issue. As it turns out, I normally have 3 or 4 lobster traps in the water at a time and 3 or 4 lobsters in the pool at a time. The extra capacity has occasionally been useful when the barn was full and I had lobsters to harvest, but most of the time 4 would have been enough capacity. I am thinking that I should increase the trap production queue to 4 or 5 so that I can get ahead on the number of traps overnight. But that really costs a lot of diamonds!

I do the same as Meonhoc but I only expanded to take 4 lobsters at a time and that is plenty now. After an initial burst I always have lobsters in the barn along with the soup and pizza.

Took some planning ahead but during this last upgrade to six lobster pool spots I made nets enough for all fishing spots. Alternatively fishing spots can be fished while the lobster pool is upgrading but being a lazy fishermen I am very fond of nets. So I made enough nets to cover all my fishing spots threw them in and am upgrading the lobster pool because the fishing nets and the upgrade are both going to take the same amount of hours.

Generally half my spots have either lobster traps or nets in them and maybe three or so spots are used for regular fishing with lures.

My lobster pot is currently upgrading so I can fit 3 lobsters....it's so expensive though :( is 3 enough? or should I upgrade again?

I think this really depends on how often you play, and how often you want to be checking in a resetting the lobsters. I think you need to have AT LEAST three going for it to be an efficient machine (1 lobster every 2 hours) and more if you want to check in less often but still get the same rate of return.

3 X Strategy: make three nets at a time and when they are produced (6 hrs), you put all three in the water at the same time -then make 3 more nets. When those produce (6 more hrs), your lobsters will be ready for the pot. Replace the nets, and make six more, lobsters go in the pot. 6 hours after that, everything will be ready to cycle again. Grab the finished lobsters, refill the pot, put down new nets, and queue up 3 more nets to produce. That gives you a lobster every 2 hours, with you checking in every 6 hours to reset.

4 x Strategy is the same thing, you just check in every 8 hours. this is what I do because I know I'm not going to check in every 6 hours for certain. Technically, the lobsters are ready and sitting for 2 hours in this process, but it still works out to a lobster every 2 hours, and it means you check in less frequently.

I found the real cost to this whole process was spending the diamonds to upgrade the net machine! Sheesh!
