I'm so excited, I just had to share! I just popped Tom's balloon as it floated away and got a land deed. :eek: I only ever received 100 coins from it before. I thought that's what it always gave until I read on another thread recently that people were getting other items. Such a pleasant shock. Deeds are my hard to find item.

Hey wouldn't it be fun to actually have appreciation days, like at baseball games, where everyone gets a deed (or whatever, change it for every time they offer the discount on Tom) when they pop Tom's balloons? As long as it doesn't get in the way of diamond sales, of course... ;)
I just hired Tom for the second time and this time, I noticed he held the balloon advertising a discounted rate if we hired him again within a few minutes. I wasn't ready to do so and after a bit, noticed that he let the balloon go. Just for fun, I tapped on the balloon. It popped and gave me a deed!!
I was going to start a thread, but thought I'd search to see if there had already been one and found this one. :) I wish I had known of this little "extra" the first time I hired Tom, but I will surely be prepared for the next time! :cool:

Though I knew about the "Tom balloon phenomena" from reading the FAQ (thx for posting link to it for newbies reading this thread, Woozle!) I didn't know at the time that it gave awesome items! I popped one today as well. I have gotten "premium" items in the past but today I got 50 XPs. I was very happy about it. At this level I am focusing on earning XPs to level up so I can get the salad bar. ;)
I repeat myself from other posts, but...
I REALLY wish the developers would program Greg's store and Tom's balloon to give you things that you really need instead of random stuff. I have become really jaded about chasing Tom's balloon, because 90% of the time I just get coins or land expansion material, neither of which I have any need for whatsoever. Sure, there are stages of the game where those items are pretty helpful, but when you have expanded all of the land and have millions in coins, jelly beans or duct tape would be WAY more useful.

Am I missing something here? That's a snapshot of a toolbox behind the house, not a balloon and no boat in sight Are you sure you saw a balloon on your boat? What do you remember getting (since you provided the wrong snapshot)? I think I'm going to be more observant about my boats just in case. :)Quote:
