Actually, you made me re-consider after reading this reply. I recall I got around 500 odd, took a screenshot too.

I guess the amount is simply random.

I'd prefer expansion tools (especially barn), but then again I'd take these coins over another Axe.

to be fair, i've only got coins once, but i do explicitly recall thinking how lame 270 coins was. peculiar, if it's random. at least then, there's hope for more. it would be interesting if those were scaled to how many animals you have. i only have one.

Ive actually started to already forget there is a sanctuary. Dont really go there because I do not see a point. Every once in awhile I’ll remember and go feed the animal.

I am obviously in the minority as I love the sanctuary (and I am still a bit short on my second animal). Yeah it doesn't do much In the big picture, but I find it fun. The one thing I would like to be able to do is add a deco to the island by the waterfall!

I don't hate it, I don't love it. I kind of ignore it a bit. Still trying to get more animals to see if that will increase my interest. After the special boat event, my excitement went back to pre-event levels which was ho-hum-ish. :-D

Does anyone know what is required to upgrade the animal houses once you get a second animal? Does one need expansion materials and if so which ones? Thanks.

I only have one animal & got over 1000 coins the other day. I think it's completely random as the day before I got 365.

It's automatic & completely free/no tools etc. I know, weird huh! But true, I just can't remember which thread Frico posted that info on or I'd link it.

Actually, surprisingly, I've gotten a land deed from the elephant just recently. I was very shocked about that.

I just received 3308 in coins from a visitor viewing the sanctuary. Highest previous was a little over 1600

As far as coins this seems to be the standard amount I get pretty regularly from townies. I have yet to get coins from the animals themselves so I don't know if it's different. Edited: to say that's with 2 Elephants, 2 Hippos, 1 giraffe
