Farm noob needs advise please

Hi there ho there,

so some of you may know me from Clash (which I have been playing for 5 years), yet I had never strayed Onto HD before ....until I recently discovered that there actual cats in the game so naturally I had to procure a farm to see what that's all about.
So now I'm feeding chickens and cows and making butter and cookies etc ... so far I'm a level 10 ( noob ik) and it's all very civilised. There are butterflies swirling around and the whole place smells of baked goods. Very pleasant indeed.

Question...are there any 'best practices' I need to be aware of? Any pitfalls I need to avoid?

I should disclose I am playing HD very casually, I don't mind ambling along slowly ...I just wanna get to the cats bit :smirk: but I would like to not make a huge mistake on the way which is gonna cost me a lot of time to fix.

Any tips are much appreciated. Thank you 😊

upgrade your barn /silo

make money => use your store //Daily Dirt to make money

machines are expensive => don't level too fast

expand the slots from your sugar mill and your dairy

safe your diamonds for expanding slots

Thank you. I have expanded the silo/barn already... but not the sugar/dairy ones yet...I'm trying to level to 18 so I can join a neighbourhood but not fussed about levels after that really, so thanks that's a good tip. :)


I do use the store and when you create a sale offering it kinda defaults to a suggested price which I always lower a bit to attract a faster sale...what's up with that 'default price'? Is it random or based on something? Should I be adjusting it at all or just leave it be?

SELL SELL SELL!!!

This game has a tricky way of helping you level up fast but suddenly have no money. Try stay away from truck orders unless they have high coins. Never be afraid to trash any.

Only unlock the boat if you have spare cash and have bought the other machines that are available, boats aren't always a high earner for coins.

Finally, when you get to level 24 (I think) you will unlock land expansion materials, these sell for 400+ coins each, for now sell them off because at your level it's not essential to have land expanded, it's always better to have coins.

Elfriede's advice, plus, if you want the cats, repair the boat dock as soon as you can, and the mine, so you can get the vouchers to acquire the pets :)
wheat, corn, indigo and pumpkins generally sell by lowering price, the rest you will sell at max price very quickly

ALWAYS SELL FULL PRICE!! No matter what it is it will sell eventually😀

Well so so far it's all cookies and cream for me so I will watch out for the 'hard stuff' :smirk:

For some reason I could never understand, quite early in the game you can open a mine ( for a heap of coins), and aquire smelters to turn the mine ore into metal bars. Eventually you can get a jewelry stand. Boats, metal truck orders, red boxes and event prizes are the only place you can get colored vouchers, necessary for aquiring pets
