Clash got a Halloween update today when will we.pls get.one as well ? And I do hope there is more to decorate with than the one jack o lantern. As any of my neighbors know I have already been decorating for Halloween / autumn. And now since clash's this morning I am so anxious and can't wait : )

Supercell did a halloween Update for clash of clans. Will they do one for hey day?

fall colored trees (like the trees we can buy as decorations)

cornucopias
food:
candy corns - candy machine
pumpkin seeds - oven
pumpkin bread / pumpkin rolls - oven or cake maker
pumpkin spice lattes - coffee kiosk
apple cider - juice press or coffee kiosk (I know it's not coffee but I think we need more options with longer producing times so we can rack up some hours for the never ending mastery)
Other:
costumes for little people and animals
bats replacing birds

I genuinely found your post intriguing BuffyDee, and it prompted me to do some research about the Halloween festival.
it turns out that although All Hallows is a 'Christianised' saints day, possibly but inconclusively with pagan origins, Halloween as we celebrate it is not a Christian festival at all. Its closest religious links would be to the Druids or the Wiccans, and it shares similarities with the 'day of the dead' festivals held in various countries around the world.
The closest that Britain ever got to celebrating Halloween when I was a child, was a few scary pressed paper masks in Woolworths, and maybe making a pointed hat in school. It was not much earlier than my daughters generation (she is now 27) that brought the American custom of trick or treating to this country, which has grown over the years until we see Halloween children's costumes in every supermarket. I think the film ET had a lot to do with it!
However, unless we are Druids or Wiccans, very few of us could claim the right to celebrate Halloween with any religious significance, so I shouldn't worry too much. As Cricks has said, perhaps there should be an on/off switch for all these seasonal decorations, but I have to say that if Finland celebrated a particular festival I would be more than happy to join in as a guest even if it were associated with a religion that was not my own. When in Rome? .... maybe.
CoC always gets an update before HD. It's SC cash cow so they have priority :rolleyes:.
Wonder if there will be Halloween clothing for the animals...bring it!

Thought of a few more ideas!
- a little candy bowl in front of the house
- spooky smoke / fog in the fishing area (not too intense though, a little can go a long way!)
- a costume for Tom
- keep out / caution tape
- spooky / haunted house as main house
I'm worried the dislike of the Summer update costumes on the animals will influence SC into being less willing to give Hayday a Halloween/Fall update since a lot of players didn't like the outfits. ):
But, even though all places don't participate in Halloween traditions, almost all climates have a fall season! I didn't play when the Christmas/Winter decor was available, but I've of course seen the decorated trees, poinsettias, and the frozen ponds. And not everyone celebrates Christmas. So not having a Halloween/Fall update wouldn't be fair.

This is indeed a very valid point. I wouldn't want a winter theme, in the summer season. BuffyDee, when we all have animals in winter get up, bring out all your summer theme decs lol.

Just dropping in on this thread again! Reading the various posts I'm getting even more interested in who actually celebrates Halloween. As I said earlier whatever happens in the States comes to Britain a few years later, so we now have trick or treating which we didn't really have 30 years ago. So what happens in your country? Hay Day has seasonal updates too on occasions. In fact the last one (summer theme) only just ended where Clash of Clans didn't have one and I still remember the last winter update with snow on the farm and the animals dressed in scarfs or wooly hats or ear muffs.
I have only been playing since summer this year so enjoyed the summer theme alot, but obviously missed the winter theme, but hopefully it will return and I will be able to get one of the frozen ponds. I love them. Some carved out pumpkins would be cool too, but we will see I guess :)

I haven't been playing this game long enough to have winter theme items but I love changing around the decorations on my farm. I would love to buy some fall colored hedges and some snow covered ones to decorate for fall an winter seasons, like the green ones(spring) and flowered ones (summer). I hope there are othe seasonal items available on the wheel like the flowers with insects are. Ps. I loved the animals birthday costumes!

Ok I finally gave in and decorated myself. I'm guessing Halloween deco's are not coming. I only did the front left side of road. I can't see the full effect until pumpkins finish growing. I do like the dead tree effect. I did steal some ideas. But the best form of a complement is duplication. NO WAY! I guess I can add the new deco's to my tree's and flowers.

The USA does Halloween big? When I was growing up in newyork I couldn't wait to get out if school so I could throw on the costume I have been putting together for weeks. I am really enjoying hearing all you Statesiders getting excited about Halloween. We don't really celebrate much here in the UK, except for kids parties, and if un-supervised, trick or treating can get out of hand especially in our inner cities, so it tends to give the whole thing a bad name. Here in my tiny West Country village it takes a lot to stir anybody up, and the 'no trick or treating' signs go up very early. So please keep posting about how you celebrate in the States. Pictures would be great too! I've been decorating my farm today with pumpkins! Hope my friends will come and have a look, and also hope SC will give us some extras. Pretty please SC!

At the entry to my porch, I hang a shredded white sheet so the kids get to walk through it... One year, it was so cute, this little boy was so amazed by my porch, he asked if he could come back and pray... he was just so precious!
I'm all for the opt out button for scary themes, I really don't want witches and goblins on my farm....lol

When I was a child I remember going to get pumpkins and doing hay mazes. It was so much fun, but from what I've heard from people back home is that they shut the maze down. It had something to do with a child getting lost in the maze and worried parents wanting it removed. It is very disappointing but It gave me some very fond memories of Halloween.
So I made a maze! It is very easy, but cost quite a bit... And I edited the snapshot to make it a bit more gloomy.
