I just took a 338 visitors task. 21 townies for the points.
nothing spawned from it. My bedtime, good luck all :)

so we have the first themed derby, the 'picnic derby' - let's share experiences here.
on our first board load, we had a 353 train task - so this means that it's not just the tasks that were mentioned in the news item today (hot dogs, hats, salads, etc. which sounded like production tasks to me) that propagate at higher than 320 point values. this was a big relief to me!
We have 2 over 320 on our board. 1 323 20 townie task, and 1 smoothie task for 347 ponts but I don't remember how many have to be produced :p
I'm not surprised about the train task, after all, they need to get to the beach for the picnic! 😊
How many visitors for your 353 pt train task?
I have a 338 pt (21) visitor task.
...and two 320 baskets.
I'm going to ditch those, they're not going to cut the mustard this week!
It's a mixture of unnerving & fun. It's actually a bit like placing a bet on a real horse race 😁
Train task
323 - 20
338 - 21
353 -
...
currently i'm waiting to see the 400s. it has yet to be determined how quickly they will propagate, and if it is worthwhile to wait them out or not. i'll give it a few board cycles to monitor and see. i typically hold out for perfect score (10 x 320), but sometimes it's just a huge pain in the butt, like waiting over a day for a task i want to do. time will tell
omg I thought someone trashed the 323 town task, but someone just took it and finished it immediately, LOL :)
task: 363 points; 690x corn in 5 hours
22 visitors for the 353 confirmed
it's odd because the 320 normally needs 23... fuzzy math going on here. edited to ephasize normally. we haven't had one yet but we do have a 309 that needs 19 visitors, which leads me to believe there is no 320. 309, 323 338, 353, ...?
I had an 368 point train task.
23 visitors 😊
I haven't taken a task yet. Can anyone who has comment on whether the points to reach horseshoe thresholds are the same or whether they have been increased?
368 for 23 town visitors!
We are 27 opted in, in the champions league.

16 yoghurt smoothies for 347 points
338 for 21 visitors
353 for 19 cotton shirts
368 for 23 visitors
Waiting task with 400 point :smirk:
Townie task (and shirts LOL)
323 - 20
338 - 21
353 - 22 (19 shirts, I got that one too. Trashed it though)
368 - 23
There are so many changes I hadn't even considered. I thought these higher point tasks would just be added to the regular tasks, I hadn't considered them changing the points value of the regular tasks. So actually, it's made it easier for low/mid level players to add higher scores too whilst still only doing tasks they'd do normally (Townies normally 23 for 320, now 21 for 338).
I hadn't even thought about the Horseshoes. I'd be curious to know what the numbers are for solo players when someone starts.
just finished 368 task for 14 yogurt smoothies
Townie task (and shirts LOL) ...and Smoothies...
323 - 20
338 - 21
353 - 22 (19 shirts, I got that one too. Trashed it though)
368 - 23 (14 yogurt smoothies)
It'd be nice if someone from Supercell could confirm what the max amount of points a task could be worth...
345 - 660 corn fields
353 - 22 visitors
357 Town task 22 visitors
368 town task 23 visitors
2 of 327 and I don't remember the other smoothies tasks 13 items
368 corn task asking for 700 corn ,,, no 400 yet :)
(fixed it)
368 point train task for 23 visitors
they did in sneak peek. up to 400:
https://forum.supercell.com/showthre...8-Sneak-peek-5
And corn is all over the DD 😂
Maybe corn and town are now 'related' somehow? I don't know :P
338 points for 18 shirts. Got that one. :)
I made the impulse decision to opt in since I'm still chasing that 40 champion league derby participation achievement. I'm highly regretting it now. My hood has had 3 bonus tasks show up since the derby started. So much for the "higher chance" of those bonus tasks appearing...
Hi guys,
For further clarification: the current tasks that are affected by the theme bonus are:
-Hot Dog
-Yogurt Smoothie
-Green Smoothie
-Cotton Shirt
-Corn
-Train
For this Picnic derby there is a bonus 15% in these tasks, so the max amount of points in in a single derby task will be 368.
Apologies for the late communication on this, there were last minute changes due to technical reasons, but we are aiming to have 400 point tasks in our next derby theme (summer theme).
Cheers,
Frisco
Thanks for clarifying, Frisco! I hope people weren't chasing the 400 point tasks for a few hours
I just finished a 351 corn task. I think theses new higher points are fun. We've had like over 6 higher point tasks on the board since it started. I've only seen higher trains (other than the one corn) which I don't do because they take too long but my neighbors love it. It's a shame that there still won't be any 400 point tasks this derby but the increased points are still making me excited. :)
Hm......I now have zillions of sandwich and salad makings. Ah well! I did grab a 362 corn, now to figure out how to sell it. ;)
Ack I just planted more lettuce, oh well lol
Ok, I've seen a few of your comments, always well articulated, and understand the frustrations you mention, and I understand especially the frustrations with competition, but I do think some extra perspective is needed -- there is more to the game than the competitive side to the derby, heck there's more to the derby itself than competition, and maybe if you forced yourself to ignore the competitive side for a few weeks and got in touch with all the other enjoyable aspects again, you might feel less frustrated. This is just advice from someone who learned that the hard way, and it's not meant as criticism, but hopefully as support.
I'm sorry but agree with Jerhunter. This forgetting to advise has had many trashing tasks to get the 400's promised. Also, without in-game notice how are players who don't come here going to know? Miscommunication terrible. But sure we will see group hug YouTube again instead of using to advise all players of something not working as planned.
My new strategy for this week: do those pretty yellow numbered tasks above 320 and derby as usual. Not sure what the big hoopla about missing 400 pts and certain production tasks is all about. It's just another derby with higher task points. Nothing that will throw me off course. I must be missing something.
I have been told by several people , that do not know each other, that the highest point value task for this picnic derby is 368. Can anyone confirm this? I can't get anyone to tell me where they get their info....which is fine....keep your secrets....i just want to know for sure if they are accurate! LoL
I was, and I trashed a lot of ones we now know are the highest ones, but hey ho, they'll come back again, it's only a couple of hours in.
It's going to a rubbish Picnic with only hot dogs, corn & smoothies. Oh well, I think I'll pack a few other bits as well anyway 😂
Me too! 😖
Quite. It's all a little confusing. Still, I'll keep the machines going & trashing the board...it'll sort itself out I suppose.
Don't be so paranoid. No one was being secretive. It's just like Chinese Whispers 🤣 Besides, someone did tell you 😊
Has anyone else had a lot of corn tasks pop up over 320? I'm guessing that it may be the case as now the adverts are full of mostly cheap corn! Good luck shifting it. Corn overload!!!!!
i don't think we've seen a 368 task yet, of any type.
i've seen several 353 trains and a 345 corn...
i wasted the first few hours waiting for 400s until clarified they wouldn't pop, now the 368s remain elusive
Currently workin on 26 hotdogs for 357 points. So far the hood has had 4 353 train tasks, 5 corn tasks, 14 green smoothies for 347 points. Tons of 320's popping up (mostly combo).
Hmmm only wonder ? my team thrown 300 tasks , and got 2 tasks that have 368 points ,
many teams only do the top points tasks , (the we only do 320 points team )
if they to get one 368 point task out of 150 tasks !?
if they are 30 opt-in , and do 10 tasks each , that is 300 tasks
if my counting is right , That mean they have to
Throw 45000 tasks !?
Do they do that !?
AND I THINK THIS DERBY IS FUN !!
and I have a big big Silo that is very very fun to !
you might want to clarify a bit, it is not very clear what you are asking.
that said, i don't think anybody knows yet. this is the first time we've done a derby like this, so we don't know the real rate of max point tax propagation. i agree it is very rare, but we did get a total of 2 368 point tasks so far, too.
that said, i've seen up to 3 of the 'gold' extra point tasks per refresh (and we leave some of the 'normal' point tasks too)... to early to tell, i think.
if going only for max point tasks, though, your idea of having to trash 45,000 tasks doesn't seem outlandish, i just question if that's possible in a 6 day derby lol. i could figure that out but i'm not going to, i'll just see what happens.
lol I was so happy to see over 320 points, so I took the task, then realized.. it's town visitors.. I never do those tasks, so rip.. getting 20 done is rough, idk how yall manage to do this xD
you have them all finished before you take the task, that's how.
before starting a task i typically have all 42 fully served.
take your eggspress train ppl, send them all out to the platform. pick up from hood mates, they will all be one stop visitors, serve them, repeat.
that's how it becomes a 1 minute task :D
shadycre I dont no If I not is clear , in a normal Derby you have to thow 20 tasks to get one 320 task !
That mean that the teams (that only do 320 tasks ) and are 30 in the team
Use many diamonds And thow say 6000 tasks in one Derby ,
this the do to , get up on the Derby top list , to do the perfekt Derby ,
now the Max point is 368 but to get ,one 368 you have to thow 150 tasks
that makes 45.000 tasks to thow are they going to do that ?
Obs the we "only do 320point tasks " is the same that whine
"where are the 320points task " on F-book and here and the question is to them !
I personally am loving the change of pace of this derby -- bring it on SuperCell!
(And thank you to the Hay Day team!)
It's chaos
We have no idea what constitutes a good score, we are trashing 320 tasks ...... something I thought I'd never say LOL.
Strategy, what strategy?
My hood normally performs like a machine, playing as a team, patiently waiting for the right tasks and delivering a well rehearsed strategy for gold. This week the changes have turned us upside down - but it's actually fun to be challenged to try and adapt.
DD has become a corn exchange (use your farm visitors to clear large quantities of corn) - as usual SC haven't foreseen the effects their changes would have on DD, which is quite an important part of the game for most farmers.
It's annoying of course to get a bum steer on salads, tacos and hats before we started. Hopefully they'll get it right next week:smirk:
Hopefully they remove all future themes by next week. FTFY
Seriously, this is utter chaos. There's no higher chance on bonus tasks, my hood has completely stalled out waiting for them to show up now. And the DD is nothing but corn, people are too impatient to sell to their farmhouse visitors, the only reason I'm buying corn from the DD is if it's lower cost than visitors would pay for.
WOW! This should have been an update in News on our farms! Certainly not something just casually thown out in the middle of a chat thread! So, once again the promised changes didn't occur. We have been waiting for the higher point tasks that apparently are never coming! That would explain why we are getting SOOOO many 323 an 338 point tasks. 400 is not the max, 368 is. I HOPE SC drops this themed ♥♥ after this week. While the picnic derby is a nice change of pace this is now week two that your programming department can't pull off.....programming.
I have two 347 point tasks on board- 13 yogurth smoothies. And one 327 task-13 green smoothies
Still loving this new derby -- and now I don't even need to grow corn! ;)
haven't had any smoothies, only trains corn and shirts with extra points!
Actually this as announced in the News on the farms. I'm sorry things aren't going right for you. Many of us enjoy the switch up to having to adapt a strategy rather than doing the same thing that can get quite boring. Our NH had lots of trains come up. Only 2 or 3 were 368, a few at 357 (?) and then many of the 323 and 338. The 3 of us probably did a total of 15 or 16 train tasks. We had all the other higher point tasks as well. There were also the usual 320 tasks. We trashed under 200 tasks this week, and are currently in 1st place. We know that could change, depending on the other NH's task choices. I really doubt that any team will find all 368 tasks. So now we wait and see if a 10th task is needed.
Hi, my name is Smallchange & I'm a control freak.
🤣😂
However, I am LOVING being thrown into the unknown. I feel quite liberated not doing 10x320 tasks for the first time in bloody forever!
BRING ON THE THEMED DERBIES!
Yeah, it's fun isn't it...the not knowing & the opportunity to change our strategy for a week. I hope there are lots more Themed Derbies or some kind of permanent change.
I was trashing anything under 368, but now I'm keeping the highest of each task & swapping them out...I'll keep reassessing.
LOL! It's like taking your bra off at the end of the day! (Hope that is not offensive to anyone).
These derbys remind me of when the derby first started and the 2nd place team would wait till minutes before the end to sneak in a last task to take the win. I do miss playing like that. I think this is the breath of fresh air the derby needed and all those train tasks may get more people working the town.
We have kept our towns fully loaded so that the town/train tasks go fast. Did call the Eggpress train early 2 times so that my hoodies would have visitors to pick up. And they did the same. I'm hoping the excitement lasts!!
I must've done something really bad in my past life to deserve endless corn ads.
I guess when life gives me corn, I guess I'll make popcorn.
I was disappointed because I had several products ready and waiting for the plus point production tasks and they never show up. I only saw 1 plus point hot dog task but unfortunately I had already finished the derby by the time it came up on the board. BUT I did do three plus point corn tasks. I haven't had that much fun sitting around harvesting corn in a long time. LOL This is the first time I ever got a 2900+ score in derby (mainly because it not actually possible at 9x320 but detail details). I'm happy and call this derby a raging success (except for all the corn in the paper but I helped make that happen so I can't complain too much). :)
LOL
Yes! I miss the 'old' style Derby too - we had LOADS of fun in those days with the 'held' tasks & nail biting finishes. Happy days 😊
Well, my NH (me, myself & I) is loving it too!
Yes, it's been good. More themed Derbies please!!
I'm here to agree with those who've said this crazy derby has been like a breath of fresh air. I can't even remember the last time I've enjoyed the derby this much.
I'm loving it! We are lucky because most of us have upgraded towns and the 320+ townie tasks are in abundance! Finished my ten tasks with a total of 3310 points today :D We need more themed derbies as derbies get monotonous after a while.
As hood leader I'm still feeling the pain of being shorn of our normal winning strategy.
As a player I'm quite enjoying the change - barring the fact that DD is essentially useless now.
Perhaps I need to try this bra removal strategy for de-stressing?
I wonder if the wife will lend me one of hers??
Actually, that's not true. The announcement in the News no longer reflects what we were originally told. We were originally told the special tasks would include tacos, salads, and hats as well. We were told THIS would be the derby with 400 point tasks. If that were not the case there would have been no need for Frisco to apologize "for the late clarification". There would have been no need for him to post a revised update of the tasks, which eliminated the aforementioned extra ones. There would be no reason for him to point out the need because of "last minute changes due to technical reasons".
I'm not saying the change up in derbies hasn't been enjoyable, I AM saying that once again we prepped for something that didn't happen, and our strategy - ie our DELETION OF TASKS - was based around the expectation of much higher points. It should have been an update on all our farms in the form of the news tab they've been so fond of using the last 10 days, not an off hand post on page four of a discussion.
As for the tasks themselves, I'm super happy for those of you who are getting lots of high point tasks. Our NH has experienced almost nothing above 340. LOTS of corn tasks and way too many hotdog tasks, and not much of anything else. Its only Thursday. Maybe better tasks will show up in the next couple of days.
It wqs great fun! The last fun derby I remember was that one when everyone was opted in, remember that?
we usually get first or second place, predictably with 10x320, this time we got everything from 320 up, as I see no point on making a strategy out unknown parameters. More people opted in and we never served so many townies or planted so much corn or sewed shirts!
we are in 1st at present but have no idea if it will stand, which adds to the fin
Our hood also had tons of fun with this derby. It had become rather boring, knowing exactly what products to prep in hopes for that task, and usually ending up doing lots of boat. We are also in 1st at the moment, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I hope SC continues doing these themed derbys.
I am not sure when Frisco's "apology" was posted, and I must have checked the News section of the forum prior to opening the farm on "Derby Day", but I messaged my hood mates less than 4 hours after the derby began to let them know what could be the possible tasks and that the highest point value would be 368. So what if we were told tacos, salads, and hats. Prepping those would not have interfered with prepping any of the other products that were also mentioned, smoothies, shirts and hotdogs. So it really is just the point value change that was not clearly communicated in the in-game News.
Maybe the solution is to NOT give any hints, and let us figure it out. I'm not sure any of us want that. Last minute changes happen in every day life, those are harder to deal with than a last minute change in a game. Adapt and carry on.
Our NH has seen zero smoothie tasks; yet, 4 of us have smoothie makers
The only special tasks we have come across were train, corn, and cotton shirts.
We have seen all of the production tasks, some multiple times. Not all were 368 points, though. I guess it's the random luck of the game. We had so many train tasks above 320 that it was difficult keeping the town filled and served.
Super great you were able to message your team mates with info. You apparently did not get it from the news announcement on our farms beause it says nothing about 368 as a max. It says, now, only that they will be above 320. Maybe the solution would be to actually do what you say you are going to, and if it doesn't work out, announce that as well. As I said from the start, when they couldn't make what they promised happen, SC should have made a new announcement on the farms, where EVERYONE could see it, announcing the changes and the new, revised downward, max point value.
We just finished our derby and we did see 368 tasks for corn (just once), train (saw this one a lot actually), cotton shirts, yogurt smoothies (twice), hot dogs (twice), green smoothies (once)......we spent 2+ days trashing over 1000 tasks to get them but they did appear! Love the challenge.
Also love that we were able to unlock a horseshoe we can't normally obtain in our small hood by scoring extra points!
The corn tasks for us quickly died off after the DD became Cornageddon. I have not seen one in about 2 days now.
I ended up doing 2 bonus points corn tasks but I did not flood the Dirt. It took a long time for farm visitors to finally ask for my stash
