I got notifications that my battle machine was upgraded to level 2, but this is incorrect. I am just upgrading it for the first time (to level 1), not the second time (to level 2).

Did you try updating your game to 9.105.9? If you did and still if the problem is not gone then you should switch off notification for clash and then contact support.
