I've been using barch to farm in crystal 1 but haven't been able to get more than 40% so have literally been losing pretty much every battle. Now I'm in gold 1, but the loot hasn't been as good so I want to get back up to crystal 3 or 2. How do you increase your chances of getting 50%? Is this a deployment or count issue? I currently do 110 of each and do the 4 finger deploy in an arc around the base.

I always thought that barch was not meant to necessary push for higher leagues.
I believe you will need to use heavier army's until you get to your target league...THEN revert to your barching.
Hmm I was afraid of that but you may be right. Yeah, I'm starting to realize that. Then again I haven't been using my CC either so maybe a squad with my BK (AQ is constantly down) to clean up for the 50%. Or just change up my army...Quote:

I know they say that barching is cheap, but it does not give you much dark and almost no bonus.
I have a mini account that is TH9 with 15/15 heros, it is a war account and every attack is a war attack, currently it is in master 2, it only has th8 defenses (hidden teslas, traps, archer towers and air defenses upgraded to max th9) and get three stared almost every defense.
But it is great fun attacking with loons and minions, soon I have lava hounds lvl 2 and I will use that for my farming attacks. I have no problem having 4 builders busy and one free for upgrading walls and heros upgrading constantly it is great fun!
My point is, drop barch, in every attack you miss a lot of loot that could have been yours, and it is really boring.
On my main account I barched a lot (like two years), I just couldn't believe that it was better to make full attacks. It is much easier now, spells and troops are brewed a lot faster now (except barch!) You can make a full blown army in about 1/2 hour.
When I created my mini I promissed my self, never barch again...however, when upgrading spell factory there was no other option
If you still have walls to upgrade keep barching. And even after walls.
Since you said you use 110 of each (220 camp space) I assume you're a th9.
I always brought 4 lightning spells with my barch for deep drills I couldn't get but that doesn get the percentage.
You should try using less barbs and more archers, like 40:60 being 100 barbs and 120 archers. Using skellies like extra barbs only if you really need it. Try not to use it much as it uses DE.
Also, don't be too spammy. It's ok to do the 4 fingers drop, but do it with specific target portions of the base. You don't want to use 50 barbs and archies agains a portion of the bases covered by 2 mortars, a wiz tower and a king only to get like 6% worth of buildings.
As always, first a line a barbs followed by a line of archers.
If you want to maintain a trophy range you can choose better your targets. Avoid hitting the tailor base (four corners with a wiz tower point defenses and storages) and bases with too many 'trash' buildings (barracks and stuff) inside the walls.
If you can get a cc it can only help.
I have to disagree with you about barch dark elixir income. I farmed my walls and heroes since starting th9 with only barch. Now as a th10 with the same strategy I got 40/40 heroes and full magma walls in the minimum time.Quote:

If you want 50% Gibarch would probably have a higher chance of it on most bases. Also if you are more selective and go for bases with a lot of "trash" buildings and collectors on the outside then simply surrounding it and taking out all those buildings will often get you a star.
The problem is having the discipline to hit NEXT even when that base has a off center de storage with 1k+ or when there are 300k+ resources but basically no chance of getting a star with your currently army. That is what gets me but sometimes losing is winning. :)
