New dark elxir troop - viking
THE VIKING
Attachment 18024
I've noticed that in each village, there is a portion of water toward the left side. So why not put it to use? We can have naval battles with ships full of Vikings. These ferocious cutthroat Vikings target gold and stop at nothing to steal them. The layout for Vikings will be a bit complex as they come in provisioned ships. These ships are a method of transportation and bring more Vikings with each upgrade. In essence, we're talking about a ship, not the troop. Before I get into details, here at the stats:
STATS:
Each ship takes 15 minutes to train and has more troop capacity with each upgrade, however in this the ships also have catapults to launch within a range of 12 tiles of the docking site with splash radius of 4 tiles. However, you can spare 5 Vikings to drag the ship closer at a speed of 3.

I'll get into the details of the catapult and the Vikings here:
CATAPULT:
The Vikings arrive ON THE SHIP at the very edge of the map, so they must drag the ship very far to really put effect into the catapult. This however takes up 5 Vikings and they die after dragging the ship out of exhaustion. However, once the catapult is brought into the game it can have MAJOR effects in the game. For one, it has splash damage and targets anything. The catapult has no health of its own because it will be destroyed once the ship is destroyed.
VIKING:
The Vikings also target resources. They carry sacks around with them, and you can tell how many resources they have gotten by how full the sack is. HOWEVER, what makes the Vikings different is that they CANNOT target defences. Also, to gain the resources that they collected, they must make it back to the ship. Therefore, to use them you must put a lot of thought into placement of the ship and whether you should spend 5 Vikings to bring in the catapult. This means, if the ship is destroyed, then the Vikings you brought are stranded and are of no use to you, and the resources collected is also LOST. Also, when the Vikings go back to the ship, they load their resources into the chests and head back to pillage more. Once the chests are filled, then the ship heads back to your village even if the battle is still going on.
APPEARANCE:
Levels 1&2:
The Viking ship is made of wooden planks with several treasure chests that are empty upon arrival, carrying a certain number of Vikings that scamper on shore when it is docked. The catapult flings large rocks at the enemy and the Vikings are wearing short, wooden horned helmets with leather vests.
Levels 3&4
The Viking ship has metal spike plating at the end and a cruel ram at the front. They carry a number of yelling, vicious Vikings with black horned helmets with huge axes/maces. The catapult flings burning boulders at the enemy.
