Sue I am really sorry!
Come to my store, I am at level 46 now.
Saw her farm name earlier: Stakes not for you Cosmo, lol. You can try Kik her if you use Kik too. I'll gladly tell her Kik, just PM me :)
People can just go in your farm & take things???? Lol
P.s. I better go & write down everything I have because after a bottle of grey goose I will never remember...
I just left a visitor message on her profile wall to clear her inbox and to contact you for the return of the stakes. I also included a link to this thread. Hopefully, she'll see it or that trying KIK works for you.
Some people follow a player-created set of rules to "trade" or exchange items that are difficult to find elsewhere. Two people arrange an agreement regarding this trade and then go through the motions of exchanging the goods (i.e. bolts for tapes). This thread is about one player accidentally taking some items that were meant for another player involved in a trade agreement. She is trying to return the items so they can be given to the player to whom they were originally promised and who may have already "paid" for them by giving their goods.
I just sent Sue and message on KIK
Thanks to everyone who tried to help. Cosmo contacted me a while ago & returned the trade. :) I appreciate everyone's concern, and appreciate Cosmo for graciously returning the items. So, all is well now. :)
Ohhhh .....ok geez I hope I haven't done that to anyone ...its really hard to know when you go into someones store if items are reserved for someone or not ...we need a reserved button in there Supercell with a message window so we can put a reserved sign on an item so its says reserved for Sue...the button can be displayed in the box where we price the item as an option....that way we all see it & keep our hands off lol....easy solution right there....
Trading, as I described it, is an invention by players and is pretty much known only to forum members, so it's no surprise you were unaware of it. Even some forum members (especially new members) have no idea it exists until they stumble upon it as you did.
It is not something that is officially supported by SC (designed into the game) but is hoped that they will someday incorporate it as an official part of the game.
Until then, folks who enter into these trading arrangements use the LAST bin in their market stall to exchange goods. Sometimes, if a very large trade is involved, they may use the last two bins. A single stalk of wheat for 1 coin is placed in the last bin as a marker and, only when the trading partner buys that wheat, will the trade items be placed into that same bin.
Some farmers even have a message such as "last bin for trading" or "don't buy from last bin" where the farm name would be, but most only have their regular farm names.
If, while scrolling through your neighbors markets, you see a long stretch of empty bins and then see expansion items in the very last, it's very possibly a trade in progress. However, if you answer an ad in the newspaper and see an expansion item in the last stall, that item is up for grabs just like any other item in that advertised shop.
If, when visiting a neighbors farm and finding items in the last bin or two and you are unsure, you can watch the item to see if it ever gets picked up. Some folks only wait 5-10 minutes. But I know that sometimes trades can be delayed due to scrolling issues or barn space so, if I never saw any wheat and it's not taken by at least 20 minutes after I discover it, than and only then, will I take it. On those rare occasions when I grab before thinking, I will try to contact the neighbor, as cosmos did, to return the items.
Hope this helps ease your concerns that you may take a trade. Just watch for the last bin or two. The following are links to the two trading threads where you can offer or accept an offer of trade. The first page of each thread has details of the general rules of how to proceed:

Just keep in mind that, while most trades are smooth and successful, they do still sometimes go wrong for whatever reason, so each trade is at your own risk.
