No more marker stakes?

Dear Hay Day;

Maybe it's designed this way, but I gotta ask.

I play all day. I work from home. I keep my iPad next to my computer. I work for about half an hour, take a mental break to harvest fields, collect animal products, and set a few machines going. Then I dive back into work.

Since the update, I've harvested at least 1200 fields and collected animal products at least 300 times. I've also served maybe 20 Townies.

In all that time I've not seen a single marker stake drop. Not one. Even before the update they were scarce. I'm pretty sure I've received only one in an entire week of steady playing.

I certainly understand that you want people to play often, and that it should be a challenge, but this is extreme. Am I imagining it or is there perhaps an issue with the algorithm?

I've enjoyed this game so much since I started playing a few months ago. You've done a wonderful job, especially with the features that encourage people to work together. I just had to ask about this one thing.

I get marker stakes all the time. I never get mallets. Or gold vouchers for that matter. I get a lot of bolts whereas my friends get a lot of tape and/or planks. It's just a random thing. In our NH, we've learned who gets what the most and we trade a lot.

Hi kvneal. How strange. Never get mallets? Or rarely get mallets?

I mean, I realize that the drop rates aren't equal across all items but I had no idea that some items don't drop at all. I suppose that's possible. Mine used to be a little more well-rounded but maybe it changes as you get to different levels? I just hit 46 around the same time as the update.

For me, screws and duct tape always have the lowest drop rates. But at least I get some once in awhile. It seems odd that there's one item that doesn't drop at all.

Oh, and gold are definitely the most rare of vouchers, but I expect that to be the case.

I rarely get mallets, screws, or bolts. I figure it's part of the game. Granted permits and puzzle pieces are rarer yet, but I try to play the "long" game. Not every thing can or should be instantaneous. :cool:

Replace marker stakes with planks and yep -- this is normal.

*Thistle*. I can go for over a week and not get one of my lowest drops. It's frustrating. It's great when you get good trading partners.

It is more frustrating if all your hood stuck with same items. For my hood very rare are mallets. We don't see any mallets except as derby prises

Thanks SmallChange. I had no idea it could be that long between the low drops. About how many hours a day do you play? I would think that a higher level of activity would increase the number of rare drops. I'm sure it would be only one of several factors, though.

Ummm....errrr... <gulp> let's just say it's not due to not playing enough 🤐

Obviously the more you play, the more drops you get, but my ratio between high, med & low is 'severe'.

The thing that SEEMS to help is selling my low item (stakes for you). I sometimes 'sell' a few of my lowest item (to a friend who then sells them back to me) & often I get a 'low' drop after that.

But honestly, come & join us on the trading thread. LEMS trade 1:1 & plenty of people trade their stakes. Start with small trades & make friends, then you'll have good trading partners & HD life is far more enjoyable.

Well, I have been hesitant to wade into the trading thread but you might have nudged me a bit closer to it. Thanks for the insights.
