It's early days with this new update. I think they may still be adjusting and tweaking because I agree there are not many rewards for the sanctuary yet.
I don't think I have ever seen an update this buggy. Still problems happening for many.
Got puzzle pieces on first 2 boats, then nothing--glitch.
Im not really into the sanctuary but for personal reasons.
I know it's a big task for SC to get everything running smoothly on all the various devices and servers.
So after awhile once things have settled down and more/better rewards start coming people might rethink the sanctuary. I don't think it's going anywhere.
Possibly SC has been adding too much extra stuff, what with various boosters, extra land, expansion permits with the last update then this sanctuary update. So many moving parts.
At the rate puzzle pieces are being given out, it will take years to finish even one, since the pieces are for different ones each time. This is absurd and totally not fun. I've not gotten anything but 25 XP a couple of times. Big deal. And my townies left such things as a shovel and a saw. Whoopie. Until they make it more reasonable, I'm done with the sanctuary. And don't even get me started on the permits for the land.

You can get the sanctuary so long as your town is opened and you have cleared land next to where the sanctuary is. It's on the right side of the town. There is a photo somewhere here that shows you exactly which plot needs to be cleared/expandedQuote:

I get that.. but once you reach certain level and have completed all achievements in the house, opened all land, have all pets, all machines etc.. it's nice to have a new challenge to look forward to! I do love it ☺️
Puzzle pieces will be hard to get. I was hoping for more boats to help us. Seems we all got two puzzle boats and then none. Hope it's maybe a bug and they fix that rate. But in the mean time I'm happy to know we can always get a max of two every derby. And that's a sure thing if u shuffle so that's my plan for now. This is how I managed to open all the land. Waiting for a few more permits to open the little last bit of land across the road. Then all done ❤️
